  1. I've seen clips of this before, but never in full. This was outstanding, especially the Vince/Hodgson stuff.
  2. Flair arriving to the press conference in his robe, over a suit, is simply awesome.
  3. This was fun stuff from Piper, especially at the end when he teases hitting Bret from behind, a good reminder that only a few years ago Piper would have done that without hesitation.
  4. This wasn't bad, but it's rather unremarkable, aside from Pillman's selling. It really shows how lackluster the original Light Heavyweight Division was.
  5. Dutch and Bob are awesome here, especially when Dutch starts ripping on the fans, and talks about the Fantastics bringing the "Oriental" disease back with them. Horner shows to be a solid hand in the ring, so he's not a total waste.
  6. Awesome work, Will, putting this back to back with the Embry/DWG angle. He doesn't touch Embry for sheer sleaziness, but after seeing him as a big babyface, he comes off as a pretty good heel.
  7. Embry is 5-7 years ahead of his time. This would look right at home on a 97-99 RAW. Embry is as sleazy as it gets.
  8. This isn't anything special by itself, but the benefit of hindsight and the hot angle with his debut makes this something to get excited about later on in the set.
  9. It's a damn shame that 'Mania was Jake's last hurrah in the WWF, Jake was cutting amazing promos and could have probably worked some great programs. Rehashing Savage/Jake for the title, finally doing a Jake/Warrior program from his original turn both spring to mind.
  10. Sounds like Gene is stirring the pot here, I'm surprised that the Macho Man didn't deck him.
  11. Flair has been showing SCANDALOUS photos of him and Liz. This wardrobe is so unbecoming of Flair that it's almost sacrilegious. Flair may have been booked rather well for someone who wasn't a Vince creation, but it's easy to see how he tore down Flair in other ways. I loved that "two favorite studs" line.
  12. Vader and Hashimoto were the big strikers of the match, but it was cool to see Chono attempt to rise to the occasion and hang with Vader. If this happened ten years later, Chono would have probably just Yakuza kicked Vader about 20 times. I loved Chono saving Hashimoto from Bigelow's suplex and Hashimoto's DDT.
  13. Hitting the Undertaker was just a little foreplay, that's a little suggestive for 1992. As expected, Jake delivers the goods on the stick to set up the match.
  14. Well Pillman is a more logical choice for this than Anderson. Pillman also elaborates a bit more as far as him seeing the dangers firsthand.
  15. This was pretty great. Did this wind up leading to anything, beyond Sting being the Captain of the War Games Team?
  16. This seems like an attempt at a thinly veiled shot at the WWF. And yeah, weird to see it from Double-A rather than a top babyface like Sting, Steamboat, Rhodes, etc.
  17. I'm surprised to hear that Doc and Gordy were already being talked about, I always assumed Watts brought them in since Doc was always one of his boys. This was a cute little segment, but it pales in comparison to the "Update" that the WWF liked to do.
  18. Horner comes off like a total dick in this. He's the one who decided to make the bet, and then he kicks the chair out from under him because Rip was going to win.
  19. The deliverance comment was gold. Cornette's gift of description is fully on display the way he build up the Heavenly Bodies (SPOILER ALERT).
  20. This was a pretty good taping for SMW, at least in terms of promos and angles. I've always gotten a kick out of Ron Wright's shtick, and Armstrong reminding Wright that he'd known him for over 20 years and had the scars to remind him was a great touch.
  21. I have to wonder how much Rip's leg muscles were aching after this taping. Way back when I first started Judo I felt like I could barely walk. I got a kick out of Rip interrupting the promo (doing everyone a favor actually).
  22. Oh man, Rip as a Body Donna would have been awesome. The crowd shots were priceless, especially the women yelling shut up with a few missing teeth.
  23. Fun promo to build up to the match, but I hate how Embry feels the need to elaborate on what anything goes means. Yes, you can use a tree, chain, golf club, etc.
  24. The saga continues with another person added to the mix. I'll say this for Kamala, he can't be any worse than JYD, he sold that chair shot from the Moondog perfectly. I bet everyone in MSC was hoping that Kamala would get his hands on Richard Lee.
  25. Ironic for the time period, but that's about all there is to say about it.
