  1. I'm going to watch some matches online totally at random and going to put my thoughts about them here. ASW Tag Titles: The Cereal Killers (Juggulator & Mad Man Pondo) © vs. The Honky Tonk Man & Ricky Morton (7/10/10) This is from an All-Star Wrestling show from Saint Albans, West Virginia and is quite the little matchup here with HTM & Morton combining their 50's & 80's style like The Stray Cats. Morton throws some nice armdrags here on the big dudes early on and it's fun watching these hardcore guys doing Midnight Express heel schtick early on. HTM comes in and starts working over Pondo's arm which would piss him off so he went to grab a staple gun but Honky kicks out of his hand to the floor then gets it himself which eventually led to Honky taking Pondo to the floor so a fan could use it on Pondo which I'm sure made that fan's life. As this goes on, Morton & Juggulator have their own brawl on the floor and we would lose sight of the brawl as they went all over the gym out of the sight of the one camera. They would come back in sight and the heels would be in control working over Morton of course and man is Juggulator shitty on offense doing his version of the people's elbow but dropping down for a choke instead before tagging Pondo in who is way more competent which isn't saying a whole lot. Morton throws some great punches trying to work his way to Honky who gets the hot tag and cleans house before the 4-way brawl starts leading to Pondo just nailing Honky with a Stop sign which shocked me before going to Morton who had the abdominal stretch on Juggulator and using the staple gun on his back which Morton sold great for. Pondo then choked out HTM as Juggulator covered Morton to get the pin and to retain their titles. Honky then made a real shitty comeback after the match botching a Shake, Rattle, & Roll then hit Pondo with a horrid guitar shot that didn't even break the guitar before the heels tucked tail and left. This wasn't any good other than when Morton & Pondo were in the ring and I wouldn't mind to see a singles match between them.
  2. I agree with pretty much all of that especially on Luger. They dropped the ball turning Luger so quick after the Sting injury as they could have went another way for that Wrestle War PPV such as Pillman especially after the Saturday night match that was before the PPV or just had Luger still be heel going into the match then work into a face turn later. Even with the Sting injury, Luger wasn't the #1 face because they talked about Sting constantly on TV making it seem like Luger was the guy trying to defend his honor which was funny as it was only a couple of months earlier that they were side feuding.
  3. They never mentioned that Edge won the MITB match a 2nd time, just the MITB.
  4. Think about the 3 way feud with Steinbrenner vs. Billy Martin vs. Reggie in 1978 and how that would've been handled.
  5. Dave used to cover both in the 90's but it wasn't until PRIDE got huge in 2000 that this talking point got started.
  6. Could you imagine Dave talking about Leo Durocher
  7. Do I need to say anything more after that diatribe.

  9. That would make him an even bigger mastermind that he sacrificed himself to get these guys in the position they needed to be in.
  10. Meltz said in today's WON that Cena is one of the leading candidates to be the leader of Nexus so you could be right.
  11. WWE shouldn't do an All-Access show because wrestling is about gimmicks and characters. What they should do is do a Tuesday Night Titans type of show to cater to gimmicks and get the guys over that way.
  12. Cena makes the promotion money period He does his job well just because some guys in their 20's don't like him, they are at the shows to boo him.
  13. Comparing boxing to MMA is totally justified because both are shoot sports although business models are different because the networks control boxing as there isn't organizations like UFC & Strikeforce but single promoters like Top Rank, Main Events, Don King etc etc If I'm Dana White, I would be totally wary of all this MMA = pro wrestling talk because the more you get guys like Meltzer saying that in the MMA media world then the mainstream media that employs guys like Meltzer will start thinking okay maybe this is too much like pro wrestling which is considered a joke by the mainstream media. And another thing Japanese MMA promotions never distanced themselves enough away from pro wrestling among their other problems and we've seen how far they have fallen in popularity over the years where it's on last legs now, that could happen over here very easily if they don't watch out.
  14. Yes it was and he was awesome at this time teaming with Joel Deaton and feuding with Bullet & Wrestling II.
  15. I always thought that they should've used Dillon as Flair's manager when he came in because you had the continuity there and Heenan could've gushed on commentary about how great Flair was without managing him or involving Perfect to make him feel like he was just a top heel in WWF not anything special.
  16. I was wrong, it was one week before. 1/9 Hardcore TV # Taz vs. Nakagawa # Bruiser Mastino vs. El Puerto Ricano # 911/Taz Segment, Buh Buh Ray Dudley/Blue Meanie/Stevie Richards Segment # Tommy Dreamer vs. Raven # Various Interviews- Includes the return of Shane Douglas. 1/16 Hardcore TV # Joey Styles/Bill Alfonzo/Taz/911/Eliminators Segment # 911 and Rey Mysterio vs. Eliminators # Buh Buh Ray Dudley vs. Jimmy Del Ray- Shane Douglas comes out. # 2 Cold Scorpio vs. Mikey Whipwreck # Stevie Richards/Beulah/Raven/Tommy Dreamer Segment/Brawl- Beulah is having Tommy Dreamer’s kid.
  17. IIRC didn't Tommy piledrive or DDT her like 2 weeks on TV before she announced her pregancy
  18. UFC wasn't the real pro wrestling back then.
  19. That is fantastic.
  20. So in Meltz's world if there is a fighter who doesn't have much charisma and can't cut a promo but he wins every fight with ease, he doesn't deserve a shot at the champion because he doesn't have drawing ability.
  21. The next subject for the WON Shoot series was announced today and it is Bas Rutten. I knew it wouldn't be long before this would become the MMA shoot interview series.
  22. Portland had some rough characters back then like Al Madril, Art Barr, and the like so not surprising.
  23. It's amazing listening to the last couple of audio shows in that UFC has totally warped their minds on how to view WWE. WWE is not UFC so they should get used to it.
  24. That suit is fantastic. Dave is styling and profiling.
