  1. Listening to the Ariel Helwani interview and I don't know what was funnier. 1) Ariel saying that he loves MMA because the guys are real in real life and wrestlers still live their gimmicks outside of the business. What do you expect it's been like that forever. The statement totally came across to me that he wants pro wrestling to be real and MMA is his real pro wrestling so he is justified. 2) Ariel comparing Rampage vs. Rashad to Ali-Frazier I. That is a total overstatement as the African-American fanbase for UFC is worlds different than what Ali-Frazier was in 1971 plus that was a cultural phenomenon as it was portrayed as Uncle Tom vs. Black Panther basically which he was saying that Rampage/Evans was echoing that same sentiment. I mean it's hard to push this fight as that when the fanbase there is a good 90% white. All my PPV friends that come and watch WWE & Boxing are black and there is no buzz for this among them at all as they don't get MMA mainly because UFC doesn't know how to market their product to them. 3) Dave mentioning the great African-American stars of UFC such as Anderson Silva.
  2. MMA IS PRO WRESTLING DAMMIT

  5. Something about the Taz/JR angle that gets forgotten is that JR came up with it as an homage to Gordon Solie who had just died and his angle with Muraco with Lawler playing Roddy Piper.
  6. I could care less about WWE stuff in Ross' book. I want to hear about the McGuirk territory, Mid-South, & WCW stories.
  7. Nulty lives in Florida.
  8. He was a fucking douchenozzle before his attempted retirement but he's gone over the edge since they convinced him to stay by offering him a weekly spot on the podcast.
  9. Lou worked for Joe Blanchard in 1983 and they were as blood and guts as it got at that time period so he was basically a whore to whoever would give him the check.
  10. Windham got his biggest match at Crockett Cup 87.
  11. Luger was red hot as a babyface in Spring/Summer 1988 with Barry red hot as a heel who had just turned on him so there was a natural program to run with after Luger should've won the title off of Flair at the Bash. Then you have Flair without the title which would've been interesting to book as do you put him with Dusty or go back to Sting or even put him with Doc as a feud.
  12. I still think Lex should've won at Bash 1988. He could've gave Flair rematches around the horn until Barry was ready for the main event slot. God damn 1987-88 is a rebooking goldmine.
  13. I think if the fight gets 24/7 appeal on HBO then he talks about it but very rarely will he talk about it at other times.
  14. I hate linking to PWInsider but this is phenomenal. Duggan & Matt Borne having a shoot in the ring in New York in 2010. http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.php?id=47497
  15. That would've been.... interesting.... Lawler vs Gilbert on ESPN... Lawler vs. Gilbert did happen on ESPN in 1991 for USWA.
  16. Chimel's been there like 20 years so he has some tenure going on.
  17. Listening to the post UFC show from last night and these guys especially Coughlin saying that Josh Koscheck is the next Ric Flair and the greatest heel of all-time is fucking hilarious.
  18. That was the final straw in their minds after she built up a lot of bad karma.
  19. The best part about the Lawler stuff is that the majority of fans that went to Mid-South Coliseum were black and rooted for him.
  20. Meltzer has been watching since 1970 so he has 40 years.
  21. The perfect WCW mouthpiece would've been Bischoff but that wasn't happening. Flair would've been good too but he would come a month after the angle was killed.
  22. Yeah but is Sims writing the Doc piece, someone besides Dave is going to have to write it for it get published.
  23. Well this is something. http://www.espnmediazone3.com/us/2010/05/e...n-espn2-in-may/
  24. LOL @ TNA, tonight is their last night on Mondays as they are moving back to Thursdays starting next week.
  25. It's going to be hard for UFC to go any other network because of Dana wanting total control of every production aspect of the show when the networks want to have their own control as well. Meltz talked about this last night and it's totally true especially with ESPN who when you get in bed with them, your power in production gets usurped almost completely.
