Well this turned into a real cluster. Feels like this program has run out of steam, and their effort to keep it going with Pringle and Chris has actually had the opposite effect; it's taken too much focus from what had been a hot issue. Part of the problem is Kerry's vast limitations at this point but they also don't appear to know what to do with Borne post-turn either.

Those shots with the kendo stick looked stiff. This really feels like a violent feud when even the valets are laying their shit in.

John Tatum is the best wrestler in the world on this day. This is everything pro wrestling should ever be. Somebody should be ripping off this CHANGED MAN gimmick. In fact, I'm going to try to get it into UWC somehow.

These guys have great chemistry together. The finishing sequence looked really great and Atlantis looked like a star getting two quick wins in succession like that. Dandy and Satanico are great in this.

JYD is blown up after the first sequence of the match. Way to come in for your main event run in good shape, dude. This isn't good, but by no fault of Flair as he works hard, but can't solve the riddle of how to work with JYD, and then the shit finish on top. If I didn't know any better, I'd think Ole was trying to bury the Horsemen. But really, none of the heels looked good on this show, and it makes things flat heading into the GAB, hot ending with Sting and Flair aside.

This looks solid. At some point maybe I'll check it out in full.

Isn't there somebody else they could have sacrificed to Luger here? I have to think that Sid was probably on the books to main event Havoc around this time. Wouldn't you want to keep him strong up until then?

I was going to comment on how this felt different from previous RnR/MX matches but then Loss explained why. Good on them for not sticking with the formula and trying something new. For the first time with a new layout, this isn't bad at all, and given the workers and minds involved, I'm sure with a few matches to work out the kinks, they could have made this match work too, especially with a better finish. Seriously, can the MX beat ANYBODY at this point?

Kerry promises to be the champion "for the last time," as if he's predicting he will win the title, lose it, and then never win it again. Don't sell yourself so short, sport.

Lawler's stock muscle man heel promo.

What happened to Kerry Von Erich? Lawler appears to be in total heel mode here.

Okay, so my falling asleep during this match wasn't just me being tired. I did like parts of this as it was nice and violent, but too long. Just as an aside, but did Hansen in 1990 have, from a kayfabe standpoint, one of the best years ever? He headlined shows for WCW and New Japan, won the US title, wrestled Hulk Hogan (just after his first peak) in the main event of a show that did huge business at the Tokyo Dome, all while headlining all year for All Japan and getting a run as Triple Crown champ. Even beyond his ring work being mostly superb, that's a damned good year.

This was a fun, hate-filled sprint. I preferred this to the Liger match before.

This was pretty boring until Liger looses his shit, then the hate jumps exponentially and the entertainment value increases. Don't fuck with a maskless Liger.

I think it was Paul Diamond. Diamond was one of the trainers at Michaels' school at the time.

It would be nice to get a sense of the programs that Atlas is involved with here, but knowing ICW and how rarely they kept people around from taping to taping, there might not have really been any programs. Still, Atlas should be working for a territory or promotion where he can actually do something rather than these generic "I'm the man" promos.

I have no doubt that somebody went broke on this arrangement. Knowing how dumb Kerry is, it was probably him.

Wow, if that other promo didn't make me uncomfortable, this one seriously did. And nothing usually makes me uncomfortable.

Percy does a fine job as a heel manager insulting Chris Von Erich, but man...knowing how Chris' story ends, less than a year after this, it really makes what he's saying here sting a little more. Not Pringle's fault, he had no idea what would happen, but it's still hard to watch nonetheless.

Is Toni pretending to be British? She kinda sounds like she's trying to fake a dreadful British accent. Man, Shane West is the geekiest looking job guy in history. He makes the Mulkeys look like the Road Warriors.

Orndorff and Sting seem fired up, and sometimes being high energy can carry a promo far. Still doesn't have me caring one iota about the Clash, though.

Wow, this is some straight up racist shit. Sid in the tux not wearing his boots make him look smaller than Windham, which, if he doesn't look imposing, what's the point of Sid in the Horsemen?
-
Herd has zero on camera presence whatsoever. Sid doesn't look nearly as imposing as he should standing in the background in that tux.
