  1. What show was it? Any good matches?
  2. Just echoing what most others are saying. They made the show. If they didn't make the show, there would be plenty of reason for punishment. They made it. If I am expecting bad weather over the weekend (like 3 feet of snow), my boss isn't going to tell me what I can and can't do to make sure I show up for work on Monday AM. If I make it to work, that's all that matters. But this is TNA, land of the non-sensible. So more power to them to make examples! Tim
  3. Told ya!
  4. Depends on who you listen to. NOAH gets the biggest gates of the year at Tokyo Dome (1 time per year) and regular large attendance at Bukodan Hall. New Japan is sliding but still does good tour numbers. All Japan is just above indy level. ECW at their peak is AJPW now. Tim
  5. If we do it monthly, I suggest 2 DVD's/4 hours of footage. We could do it like this in terms of breaking down matches: Classic AJPW (1970's-1985) Memphis Mid South Classic Lucha Current Lucha Current US Indy Japan My suggestion for Volume 1 would be as follows: DVD #1 Shoehi Baba vs. Billy Robinson (7/24/76 - AJPW) El Hijo del Santo vs. Negro Casas (7/18/87 - WWA) Bryan Danielson vs. Homicide (4/24/04 - ROH) Yuki Ishikawa vs. Alexander Otsuka (9/11/05 - Big Mouth Loud) Jerry Lawler vs. Bill Dundee (6/6/83 - Memphis) Capos vs. Perros del Mal (10/15/05 - CMLL) Eddy Guerrero vs. Big Show (4/15/04 - WWE) Cutting non-relevant ring intros, this woud fit on 1 disc I believe. I believe variety is the key. You have lots of everything on this disc. European mat work, lucha mat work, shoot style mat work, big vs. small, lucha brawl, memphis brawl, current indy. ************************************************** If the DVD didn't work, I have another possible idea. Someone would have to walk us through the process. DVD rippers are free and easy to download. If we wanted to streamline the process, we could rip the match off of the DVD on to the computer, shrink the file (that is the part I don't know how to do), and upload it for this group to watch and then talk about. This may be easier than sending out DVD's, especially to non-US people. The disadvantage lies in having to watch on your computer and downloading. I don't have this capability on my home computer (my brothers laptop does but he is at school) but the process of ripping is really easy. Definetly want to be able to get people watching stuff they might not otherwise watch. Tim
  6. Not sure how this is a horrible idea that alienates posters. Real simple concept. 1-2 people burn the discs and send them out. Example would be Will and Loss burning for 10 people each (let's say 20 pepole joined, which I would say is a lot right now, considering this board is still very small). No one else has to burn DVD's. As for a fee, I don't see how 5.00 per month via PayPal wouldn't be a terrific deal. If it is bi-weekly, a blank DVD costs around $1 - $1.50 and then shipping first class would be about 1.00. Of course if you wanted priority shipping, you just make it 13.00 per month. And the big rule is if you don't talk about the matches, you don't get the DVD's in the future since the whole goal is to talk about matches. And the matches should theorhetically be the one's that the majority hasn't seen so new styles of wrestling are introduced to everyone. Tim
  7. Yea, really don't want to watch again after I spent 30 minutes already watching it once. It certainly wasn't bad but is not a match I would ever want to see again. Let me propose something. How about a Bi-Weekly "Book Club" concept in that every two weeks, a DVD gets distributed with 2 hours of footage. Everyone who gets the DVD *MUST* talk about all of the matches on it. I think this would work better than a Match of the Week that everyone must own in order to decide which match to watch. I could invision DVD #1 being: (just an example off of the top of my head to show the variety) 10/15/05 Perros del Mal vs. Los Capos - CMLL 12/30/85 Jerry Lawler vs. Bill Dundee - Memphis 11/05/05 Bryan Danielson vs. Roderick Strong - ROH 07/24/76 Shoehi Baba vs. Billy Robinson - AJPW And then if there was extra room, throw on fillers such as music videos (Lawler/Dundee music videos rule) or something like the recent Pacquio/Morales fight from HBO if we want to mix it up some times. Just my thoughts... Tim

  16. Please don't make me watch Marifuji/KENTA again. PLEASE!!!
  17. Yuki Ishikawa vs. Daisuke Ikeda (4/24/05 - Ikeda Produce) - having just re-visited their acclaimed 1998 and 1999 matches, I am confident that this is easily the best. They up the stiffness to a level that is un-heard of for a worked match and in between throw in some fun mat work.

  24. Noble has said that Eddy and Benoit were the 2 people most influencial to him. His WCW stuff is almost Benoitcito like.
  25. Yea, and it will be on the Lucha discs when that time comes. 70% of the match is perfectly clear. 30% does the weirdest thing when the screen becomeds 2 screens then 12, then 19 different boxes on one screen. Very weird. Match itself is strong. First two falls are technical lucha work with the third being a bloody brawl leading to hot nearfalls and the finish. I know it is 1988 and I think we were able to get October out of the announcing as the month. Tim
