  1. This was good but ultimately inconsequential. However, it felt like a good baseline for joshi for the year much like the All Japan six man from January. Yamada and Toyota as a team is one I always enjoy seeing working together as they bring out the best qualities in each other. ***
  2. The big briefcase shots from each member of MOney INC. with Hart pleading for Brutus' mercy.
  3. Much like the other pairing increased from their first match to second, this one took a step back and was really disjointed. I don't know if the rain was the reason or what. This was too long and not enough was going on to keep my attention. **
  4. This was the great match I had been waiting for from these guys. Extended action and all the bumps and spots of the first match with more hate and storyline mixed in. Great stuff and Psicosis and Rey Jr really took center stage here and seem poised to carry the promotion. ****1/4
  5. Was super excited to see younger Tamura and this was a terrific match overall. Tamura is able to get glimpses of having an advantage but falls into the unadvantageous strategy of matching his 1 point rope break offense vs. Takada hitting the knockout blows for three points. Tamura finally gets some sustained offense at the finish but it is too little too late and he fails pray to one last strike exchange to lose. ****
  6. Vader whips ass and makes short work of Thames and then gives a preview of what will happen to Sting at Superbrawl. Effective stuff. *
  7. Squash was fine to me but nothing spectacular. Again its more of a novelty factor to me with the USA stuff. *
  8. Interesting to see Maggs cut a promo instead of get jobbed out but that is about all there is to this other than it being obscure.
  9. SMW decides to fire back just when USWA and New Japan seem to be within earshot of overtaking their throne of feud of the year. Another wild pull apart here with all teams getting mixed up and going after each other. This has been a great period for angles and promotions shining.
  10. Big time recap of the invasion of WCWSN with a response from the Stud Stable on their thoughts on the whole situation.
  11. Like seeing these two together as Eddie always helps elevate Doug in my eyes. Doug has a new monikor that he wants to work out. Tons of families colliding at MSC around this time.
  12. Nice video with PG-13 acting like fools and Jump Around blaring on the speakers.
  13. Lawler has been able to really convey hate towards Christopher without bringing up any nods to the obvious relationship between the two. By the numbers promo by Lawler but still really good and effective.
  14. I was kind of disappointed in this. I don't expect much from Konnan but Santo and Eddy seemed perfectly content to just hang out and do the bare minimum. Match was fine but this felt like more of a crowd pleasing match to pop the crowd than to have next level action. **1/2
  15. This did have a lot of schtick that detracted a bit but this was a good showcase to me and it is fun to see really young Rey show what he has. That dive sequence was great and completely out of control feeling. Finish felt a little flat. Good intro to these guys but I hope for more substance in the rematch. ***1/2
  16. This looked like a lot of fun and I still think having Windham vs. Muto go at the PPV was a mistake with how hot Barry has been. The Sting vs. Vader build up has been really good minus the white castle of fear hokeyness.
  17. The unease that is going on with all the promotions going after one another has made this stuff a blast to watch transpire. This was great as the bodies come in wreaking havoc with Cornette as the ring leader like he can only be. Cornette takes a run at Watts and I would have loved to have seen how this would have been played out.
  18. Doink continues to be amazing and actually frightening using the clown tropes but having an evil edge to him as well. They give a response setting up the big match MOnday.
  19. Straight promo to set up the tag match happening MOnday night. Sad to see it didn't pop business and it has been greatly built up throughout this show.
  20. Lawler points out all off Doink's hijinks so far and says he is sick of it. Bruno comes out and we get honestly maybe the promo of the year so far from Fink of all people. He was amazing here being dirsrespectful to southern people and putting Bruno over in the eyes of the fans. I am loving all of this.
  21. Doink is amazing on this show and he trips Jarrett up with vegetable oil and they gang attack him like they did Lawler previously. This has been an awesome episode of Memphis.
  22. This was a lot of man on woman violence and they were presenting Ms. Texas as one of the guys which was odd. Doink is back out and helps Prentice out by throwing a pie. Doink's antics are still great but I Could have done without the Prentice and Jackie feud.
  23. Not much happening with the squash (*1/4) , but here is Doink out to reek havoc and this time he has banana peels. The way Lawler tripped felt natural and they whip his ass and give him a good beatdown. Prentice with those big gloves gives quite the promo on Ms. Texas.
  24. Again that this is so effective and the perfect role for Duggan to play at this point in his career. The commentary here is great with Duggan getting cheered on but eventually he doesn't have enough in the tank and then gets his ass kicked to Vince losing it. Still weird to think about that Raw was in its infancy and this big time angle was on Superstars.
  25. Giant Gonzales has arrived on the scene and is wreaking havoc. I understand his size gives him some allure but I find it amazing that he was signed by Vince after showing how inept he was for 2+ years in WCW.
