  1. Henry has a thing for his sister that is revealed here. Awful segment and nothing to do with wrestling.
  2. Nice short tribute to Geno. I am surprised at how young Geno was as he looked elderly around WM 3 when he was only 50.
  3. Sucks for Droz that he is paralyzed based off the botch move.
  4. For two guys that will go onto have great chemistry, that wasn't the case here. I guess someone had talked to Jericho about the stiffness because his opening kicks here are really weak. The stuff on the outside is unfortunate between the tobacco cup and the lights going out. Even Hughes timing feels off. That is the best word to describe this match. Off. Rock wins which certainly doesn't help Jericho as I would have done a schmozz finish if Jericho wasn't going over. **
  5. They tried to capture lightning in a bottle again and it failed for me. The stuff with Jericho coming out was better and it was nice seeing him mix it up with the big guns again but Mick really can't take a hint and now feels like JJ Dillion bumbling around in 1997 asking what Sting wants.
  6. G vs E is something I don't remember and the charisma of these guys doesn't make me think it should be something I should seek out. He's gonna puke. This is pretty gross by Droz and not the best lasting moment for him.
  7. Great angle here with HHH getting his feet under him as a heel. The delivery from Ross to the asshole name was great. HHH vs Austin is being set up well.
  8. It would have been kind of funny for the reverend to ask Steph if she takes this man and she doesn't even know who it is. I would say the wedding is off big guy giving her condition.
  9. This grabbed me more on this viewing than in previous. The logical way the moves and simplicity overall felt really calculated and conscious helping make the match overall and provide a tribute to Owen. Benoit is always looking for the crossface throughout which is a good story narrative and Bret is able to create some neat counters from being placed in the hold. We will see but I imagine this is Bret's last great match and maybe even very good match. He is always someone that excelled in face vs face matches and this continued the theme. ****1/4 (8.5)
  10. These guys are too cool for school as evidenced by their dismissal of Bobby and their legit drinking. It is no longer 1996 guys.
  11. A pretty dumpy way to write off Steph but I guess they had limited time with Russo bolting. Again, I like Davey but blue jeaned, roided to the gills Davey here feels like more of a WCW guy trying to push a past main eventer than the current WWF upper mid card scene.
  12. Awesome looks ahem Awesome based on this video. They didn't have a lot of clips to choose from but they picked the clear highlights and he looks like a monster.
  13. Another good Christopher promo and he is having a good run in OVW and Memphis right before his biggest mainstream run as Too Cool. The Dinsmore feud could have been good in ring as well.
  14. This is one of my favorite Memphis segments this year. The box charade was well done and Doug looks so happy for himself fleeing away in the car. What really takes this over the top for me though is that Brian comes back and berates Randy Hales. This was really strong in that he feels justified for his actions but is still a prick. Doug comes back and has some shooty things to say and again is pretty rough in what he is saying, but justified. I love angles were everyone involved has picked a path that makes logical sense even if there were other avenues that could have been more peaceful. Also not knowing when THAT Doug Gilbert promo is coming is a great tease everytime he gets on the mic in front of the studio crowd.
  15. I always like Wolfie promos and he is good here talking about him breaking in as a member of PG-13 and transitioning that to the feud vs Angle.
  16. Nice Hawaiian shirt Jim. This felt like an SMW reject promo. It was fine but felt dated even by 1999 standards.
  17. I liked this a good deal and think it is a feather in Tajiri's cap for him to get this much of an engaging match out of Dreamer at this point. Corino and Francine were also fun around ringside. ECW has had a couple of good episodes on TV and has a decent niche of being the best on screen tv of the big three at the moment in ring which is odd to consider. *** (6.2)
  18. Fun crowd brawling match with a nuclear crowd. I always enjoy Austin on commentary. Is this Russo's last booked show? We get a schmozz finish and Bulldog getting involved doesn't seem to fit and a step down for Rock as a program at this point similar to the Mr. Ass stuff in the Summer. *** (5.9)
  19. Loss runs it down but this is a perfect one off type segment like Rock/Austin doing margaritaville together. It doesn't add much to the upcoming storylines but it felt like something different but also entertaining and for that reason it was a success. As we have seen with rehashes lately (BAYLEY), Rock and Mick being such great personalities really help move this segment along and not fail.
  20. Terri plows through the Posse but gets insulted before she reaches Gas so she flees. Pointless.
  21. Stevie wants to use the Dude Love gimmick and Mick gives him his blessing. The Oyster line was funny.
  22. This was awful. As dumb as it was for Rey in particular to lose his mask to Nash, at least it had some storyline to it. This was a throwaway second hour of Nitro match with minimal heat. The way the unmasking took place also sucked with the rudo team still trying to escape without unmasking in a more US manner. Shitty for Psicosis.
  23. These didn't look like well put together figures and the grip N Flip feature was odd.
  24. Another weird one but I liked this with Liz getting a great reaction when she comes out of her trench coat. Some pervy commentary from Bobby. Luger still is built well.
  25. This looked fucking awful in the first introduction of the window and voiceover.
