again on SD the crowd was completely silent for all the Authority stuff. They didn't even sweeten the audio. This just comes off as the company shoving a storyline down the fans throats with no sense of self awareness. I'm getting a Hollywood Hogan/Eric Bischoff late 97/early 98 vibe here. Maybe it changes Monday but I could see the fans sitting on their hands for all of this stuff. I can't even imagine how long the opening promo will be on Raw and how many backstage segments they will have. Probably have the final segment with either Orton or Sting showing up pretty good article at 411 about the whole situation http://411mania.com/wrestling/wwe-is-failing-to-evolve/

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Strummer replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
Cageside has some head scratching content but I don't think it's as bad as fakeplastictrees said. It's strange because I think in a lot of cases they take it too easy on WWE. But yeah the smark tropes that were outdated in 2004 are needless and annoying there. The recaps can be embarrassing too -
I've seen quite a few people say the Authority was brought back so they can finally blow them off at Mania. I just don't see that
-
In an angle that will surely lead nowhere they are doing a deal where Edge and Christian are "suing" WWE for what happened Monday Night. Also AJ will be returning soon. I bet we get AJ/Steph at mania now. Steph has to be salivating about cutting promos on Punk through her

to go along with the silent crowd a lot of the casual fans on twitter and other social media seem to be real bummed that the Authority is back. And not in a way like "I can't wait for Cena to fight them!" or anything like that. Each generation of fans is learning that stips mean basically nothing. I think a lof of fans were emotionally invested in the Survivor Series angle. Probably why there were so many more buys than expected. Think a lot of people feel ripped off right now. I guess putting Bryan with them again will quell some of the frustration but again this might be met with negative heat
-
so next week or the week after Stephanie bans Bryan from the Rumble match, right? That has to be where they are headed. For the love of Christ I hope they know what they are doing this time. Just have him win the Rumble and beat Brock
-
I mean the crowd was eerily silent when Hunter and Steph came out. I mean regardless of how good they are as heels this could get negative heat. And someone don't let Jason Powell near any sharp objects. He didn't take this well.
-
I think Hunter and Steph back as "regular" characters would have been miles better
-
Now they can't use the Authority loses power stip again. So basically how is anyone really going to defeat them in storyline. Even if they leave "forever". They can just come right back
-
So think about, hunter and Steph just got a nice holiday break before coming back to work. Pretty sweet gig
-
I know Steph is great but it just feels like same old same old. Pretty depressing ending. And now Survivor series means nothing. They really can't use that match to put Dolph over anymore
-
Another thing Meltz was spot on again. Saying the company would rush back Hunter and Stephanie to boost ratings
-
And now we have Authority/ Bryan part 2
-
Crowd silent as Hunter and Steph return. This is going to backfire on them
-
Well they went with the stips for a month plus
-
And Hunter and Stephanie are coming back. Lame
-
Bryan in the Rumble!!! Shit just got real!!!
-
Now an injury angle with Reigns. Something has to be gong down here. Hopefully
-
Looks like Bryan is getting the main event slot. Going to feel stupid for saying this in a while but part of me thinks they have changed plans and are going to go with Bryan instead of Reigns. This show has been so weird that I don't think it's out of the possibility
-
I'm sure Vince is "convinced" Taker is working Mania this year just like he was "convinced" Shawn was going to come back and wrestle Bryan last year. I would agree a tag match would be the best solution but I doubt that happens. No chance really

caught this on the "This day in wrestling history" update from the Observer/F4W site. first I've ever heard of this. Hogan never chased Flair for the title as he feuded with the Giant the next 2-3 months while Flair and Savage traded the belt back and forth. Were plans changed?
-
Orton and Barrett both returned tonight on the road. Never thought I would say this even like 3 months ago but I'm kinda psyched about Orton coming back as a babyface. I hope they do the natural program with Rollins. Rollins/Cena is already played out but I think they keep that going somehow. Barrett is eternally stuck in a directionless limbo even when he's healthy so I don't have high hopes for a good run or anything
-
a report from a fan in attendance sent rajah a note that Wyatt was rushed to the hospital after the show went of the air. From the way he worded the situation it doesn't seem to be a work

any guess on when Saturday Night turned into a completely skipable show? Even into late 96 they were still having NWO angles on the show and the top guys were involved. 97-98 not so much NWO stuff but they still had the upper midcarders (pretty much all non top NWO stars at this point) doing stuff. I remember watching routinely in 96/97 but sort of tapping out in 98 once Thunder started. Not even bringing up the post Russo Jimmy hart stuff that was in an alternate universe
