  1. Meltzer: Just a matter of time.
  2. Vince is giving himself his own DVD: WWE has announced that they will be releasing a 2-disc DVD set called "McMahon" that looks at how Vince McMahon went from being an announcer to one of WWE's most controversial personalities. Below is the description. "This 2 disc production takes a look back at what caused Vince McMahon to come out of the announcer booth and right into some of the most controversial moments ever seen on television. For the first time ever the onscreen and off-screen intrigues of the world's most notorious boss are broken down by the people who know the man best. Exclusive interviews with Shane, Stephanie and Linda McMahon, Triple H, Hulk Hogan, Kurt Angle, Eric Bischoff, Paul Heyman and more. Mr. McMahon himself reveals when the seed was planted to screw Bret Hart in Montreal, what it was like to win the WWE Championship, the true story behind the battle against WCW, the XFL, his daughter Stephanie marrying and more. Plus you'll see the Austin/McMahon rivalry, the infamous Kiss My Ass Club, and his classic matches versus Stone Cold, Shane McMahon, Triple H, Hulk Hogan, Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. Who is the real Vince McMahon? You decide!"
  3. Meltzer's update today on WWE v TNA: Maybe just a little hyberbole from Meltz? When did TNA all of a sudden become 1989 NWA? I don't think TNA is THAT better, Jesus Dave.
  4. I just read Meltzer's weekly mailbag and I can't believe he's still clinging to the "Cena is being booed because he's a bad worker" line. Bullshit.
  5. According to PWI, he will still work TV but will not be paid for it or receive any money for his merchandise sales
  6. Soon to be called up to the main Roster,Deuce, Domino and Cherry Pie:
  7. Meltzer just confirmed that Hogan and Bret both flew out of Chicago this morning. So neither will be on the show. I'm wondering now who they will get to make a shocking appearance. Austin doesn't count IMO but I could see them using him in the Vince/Shawn match ending
  8. Per Alvarez. No other details yet. I'm sure Meltz will have more later.
  9. quite the surreal image of Vince and Verne Gagne at wwe.com
  10. According to Meltzer, WWE will now be using the name "Rick Flair" because they are in a legal battle with Crockett over the term "Ric Flair" Priceless.
  11. Trying to figure this out for years: Why wasn't Paul Orndorff on the card for WM 3? Why was he persona non grata for most of 1987?
  12. There have been several matches on Raw in the last few years that have gone way past 15 minutes. During the Russo years they would average about 12-15 minutes of wrestling in a 2 hour show. I would say they usually have at least 35-40 minutes nowadays. I think the reason that there has been little to no wrestling on RAW lately is because WM is coming up and they are in pure hype mode.
  13. DVDVR:
  14. WWE has re-signed Kenzo Suzuki
  15. Tugboat's injury was a work. It was simply a case of Ottman not being over enough to be involved in main event angles (no matter how hard Vince and Hogan tried) Bossman had a lot of momentum and was getting over to a large degree so they stuck him in the role.
  16. Yeah I've always noticed that but in watching tapes from several old territories there were tons of punch and kick matches throughout the business. Yet somehow the WWF was labeled as "punch and kick" bad wrestling. You can make an argument that the punches were loose and not believable but other promotions were having the same style of matches.
  17. I'd just like to say that, as Sek mentioned earlier, people are right there ready with a laundry list of excuses when TNA has low ratings but when WWE does, it's "OMG Vince is going under!"
  18. The company still had talent on the roster at that time though. Even during the drastic in ring decline you still had some quality matches on PPV, like Hart V Hennig from Summerslam 91,Busters/Harts, Rockers/Santana v Rougeus/Martel from SS 89, Hogan v Warrior from WM 6, Hogan v Savage from WM 7, etc. The SNME's in 90 and 91 became "themed" shows like the aforementioned safari one and the October Fest . They didn't even try to have good matches.
  19. I agree to an extent. The wrestling took a nosedive in the second half of 89 and would plummet even further the next 3 years until Flair arrived. Pretty much all the SNME's in 90 and 91 were angle driven shows with very little quality wrestling.
  20. like I said be warned there is very little wrestling
