  1. apparently MTV has come out and said that the storylines will be "real". I don't know if they are going to promote them as "real" or that they are actually going to try to create drama ala Real World, etc. This is going to be a trainwreck
  2. Yup,the build up to Survivor Series 03 was perplexing as they had built up the Jericho/Austin stuff up since September and then it was quickly forgotten about a couple of weeks before the PPV. I think they just wanted Jericho to be the random heel to get over the GM firing story and they had no idea the two were going to get that much heat together. Jericho was basically the MCGuffin.
  3. Watching SD the last few months has been a very fun experience. It's a throwback show where the focus is on the wrestling and Sports Entertainment is mixed in once in a while. It's a relaxing experience if that makes sense. Watching RAW is often nerve racking as there are so many cutaways and the show proceeds at such a rapid pace that it makes it an uneasy viewing. I don't even mind the Boogeyman as he is getting good reactions. That's why I'm dreading the new Orlando Jordan character because it's going to eat up a lot of air time and it's going to be embarrassing listening to Tazz and Cole try to put it over as something important. The wrestling on the show doesn't even have to be that great as long as they are telling the stories in the ring and focusing on wins, losses, competition, momentum, etc.
  4. I was thinking the same thing Loss, that line right there is the most incriminating evidence that he's a hypocrite. But in the end, I don't think you would have gotten anything out of him anyway.
  5. I've read that line like a dozen times and I still have no idea what he means. Anyone? No really Bryan, tell me why it's different. I don't see the difference. And btw, Bryan on WOL said Hogan/Rock at WM 18 was a bad match (with Dave of course agreeing). Someone should show him his write up about Michaels/Angle and tell me, by his definition of a good match (ie crowd involvement) why one is so much better than the other.
  6. I can't believe after all that Loss, he still didn't get your point. He never answered you directly. You were saying that there is a double standard against bad workers who have heated matches. He never said why Angle's and Michael's matches should be treated differently despite Cena, Hogan and the like getting the same amount (or even more) heat despite being "bad" workers I've lost a lot of respect for Alvarez lately. And I really don't think he's as funny as everyone says.
  7. The reason given was so that he didn't get mobbed by fans after the show. If he left half way through, he could get out untouched and go right to the next town.
  8. according to PWI he just couldn't handle all the travel anymore and he needed to work out family issues. It's another deal where they might hire him back after he squares everything away.
  9. Just to clarify he specifically mentioned when he toured the house shows with WWF around the horn in the mid 80s. He mentioned this before on WOL and said it was torture to sit through. I took the comment to mean the product as a whole, and not just in ring, but he was vague.
  10. Last week in his weekly mailbag, Dave Meltzer was asked if he thought the current WWE product is the worst in company history. He said no and said the product in the 80s was much worse. I completely disagree with him. The wrestling might not have been that great but the booking was linear, logical and made sense most of the time. Plus they made you care so much about the outcomes of the matches and angles. They built people up properly and protected guys for future money matches down the line. So do you agree or disagree with him? Which era is better? or worse?
  11. Just a note, Meltzer last night on WOL said Undertaker v Mark Henry is penciled in for Mania. That leaves a spot open for Rey for the World Title, but they could still use Orton in the position.
  12. Reading into those results it looks like Shawn is going over Angle tomorrow as they they were playing up that Angle was "screwed" by Daivari. That's just insane.
  13. They had it right with the initial Goldust character. He was so freaky that it worked. But then they couldn't resist trying to make it over the top and funny. That fact, along with GLAAD being on their case, led to the death of the character. They could have done something with Billy and Chuck, but that angle met the same fate.
  14. from Meltzer's Update: Hope you enjoyed your career Orlando.
  15. Katie Vick was the product of Vince and Kevin Dunn
  16. That would be C. Believe me I know how terrible it is.
  17. I am looking at his front page and don't see that anywhere. Where is it located on the site? http://www.f4wonline.com/index.php?option=...id=796&Itemid=1 http://www.f4wonline.com/index.php?option=...id=809&Itemid=1
  18. anyone else annoyed that Alvarez keeps calling New Years Revolution the "Royal Rumble". He did Sunday, Monday, and now he has it up in his preview : "Complete Royal Rumble recap with thoughts and star ratings" I know it's just a mistake but it looks like amateur hour.
  19. Complete spoilers from PWI: Batista thanking his friend "Paul". I think that is the first time HHH has been referred to by his real name on WWE TV
  20. Spoiler (New Champion Crowned) Kurt Angle won the battle royal, last eliminating Mark Henry. Don't ask me how Angle is on SD now.
  21. Keller:
  22. more notes from this week's issue (via DVD message board) Heyman has signed a short contract extension Benoit has no plans of leaving WWE Before his injury, Batista was going to work Henry at RR and Undertaker at No Way Out Bob Orton Jr. has hepatitis Kurt Angle has proposed an MMA Invasion storyline to the creative team Shawn Michaels is apparently hiding an injury They might make Charlie Haas and Jay Lethal a tag team The company is shifting its marketing strategy. They are now interested in marketing specific wrestlers and not the company as a whole. Survivor Series earned roughly 6 million in PPV profit Brock married Sable (ten year age difference) They live right next to Johnny Ace. Bret turned down an offer of appearing at Mania and putting Vince in the Sharpshooter Recent SD! Ratings saw The Dicks match add 40,000 viewers and the Beniot vs Orton match LOSE 40,000 viewers. Kid Kash?s interview on SD! That week lost 500,000 viewers The Melina sexual harassment storyline is Vince relieving the Rita Chatterton rape case 20 years ago.
  23. from the Observer via DVD message board: Johnny Ace has been given word from Vince to sign anybody TNA is interested in, even if it is guys that were just released. Some office workers have been told the idea is to sign them with lengthy no-compete clauses, then bury them so bad that by the time they go to TNA, they are damaged goods. Dave says management see this as a pivotal year for TNA, and doesn't want them to become legit competition. well, I guess we know why they re-signed Haas.
