  1. I ran an e-fed where two guys came in as a tag team called Entropy Crusade, who literally fought for chaos.
  2. My problem with the match is in 'how' they went long. I felt like the matwork and outside brawling were more filler than quality content, and the finish went overlong. That said, I think there's a much better case for this as a MOTYC than lots in today's puro landscape.
  3. Vince must work 100 hours a week, maybe more depending on how you count travel. He's "insulated" primarily because he's non-stop WWE.
  4. I was referring to caffeine. I don't even drink. Ah, RE...
  5. Add whole organic, non pesticide raw foods instead. Yeah those pesticides on the fruit I eat are totally what's making me yawn at meetings!
  6. I do think that, booking-wise, Kobashi should have stayed down after one backdrop driver. As selling, however, it was an over-the-top "oh god someone get me outta here" reaction to an over-the-top move and I think it worked.
  7. I work for a family company, all the employees like each other, and we do like three meetings a year and I *still* hate meetings. I am not looking forward to what it will be like in future jobs. I expect I'll need to add more drugs to my diet to stay awake...
  8. Cook had a recurring role in Psych, which is on USA. But I guess that isn't a strong enough link to make anyone's radar.
  9. Exactly. They went from a juniors highspot match to RAR I'M GONNA KILL YOU with zero in-between. It's not like they *told a story* of DK getting more and more frustrated by his inability to beat TM, or have him get desperate and cheat/throw punches/grab a chair, culminating in the bottle break. The transition from high-flying to attempted stabbing is jarring. Does the bottle break make the match memorable? Sure! Doesn't mean it was logical or well-executed. There's lots of memorable angles in wrestling history that got a crowd reaction, but in hindsight didn't make sense. The difference is, none of those are used to try and make the case for a wrestling match being the best of all time.
  10. Yes, there was a rematch in WAR. It's on the set.
  11. "Jerry Lawler is a really great wrestler who aged well" is a mindset so contrarian, so subversive, that it's a major storyline in WWE.
  12. That would be Kitahara. Kakihara is the shaved, fit UWFi-ite.

  14. And they certainly never put said heavyweight title on him! So yeah, TNA is a new level of idiocy.

There's definitely some gaps that weren't aired on Samurai. For instance, 11/27/99 had some bits aired on NTV, and Samurai skips from 10/25 to 11/30 with no gaps in the Samurai airings. They SHAMEFULLY skipped 3/11/00, which NTV barely aired and was headlined by Misawa/Kobashi/Kikuchi vs Kawada/Taue/Fuchi, and it's because they went back and aired some crappy NYGS footage after airing Excite Series. Whoever made that decision... *shakes fist*

I'm reasonably certain that 5/27 wasn't on Samurai.

I'm looking at ~19 matches in right now, that's a decent amount. If more are wanted there's... Kawada, Taue & Omori vs Kobashi, Ace & Patriot 5/18: Probably the best 6-man to use from '97 AJ in the context of the yearbook. There's an all-star tag on 9/15 that isn't worth putting on considering it's an hour long. Misawa vs Akiyama, 5/27: Start of their singles series, and it's clipped to a reasonably hot finish. Kawada & Taue vs Kobashi & Ace, 5/27: First big Kobashi/Ace match, also heavily JIP so easier to justify. Kawada & Taue vs Kobashi & Ace, 10/11: These two teams meeting up always produces a good match. Great? Eh... I feel like handheld footage gets hard to justify by the time we're into 1997.

I got that CC handheld. Taue vs Akiyama has a good second half but overall is quite skippable.
  20. Might I suggest the title of a mediocre RomCom... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Failure_to_Launch

Saito vs Kojika, NJ 1/4: Kojika has RED HAIR and FAKE GRENADES (?!) and HATES THE CROWD. Saito's entrance theme is BOSS. Kojika cheats and KOTESU YAMAMOTO DOES NOT TAKE GUFF FROM NOBODY. A bunch of STUFF happens. Random Big Japan dudes get tossed around. All in under 10 minutes! Fascinating segment, even though as a match it sucks.
