  1. Screencaps from F4W board At the very least it is providing some fun speculation
  2. I was all over it last night. Loving all the theories. Has to be a top guy if they played it twice. But Dave just waved it all off this morning and said it was probably the Undertaker. Ick.
  3. He wasnt talking about DVDR.
  4. Shamelessly excited for this. Locker room cancer and that.
  5. Reason Jeff didnt get a main event push ha ha
  6. Always thought Mr. Perfect made a major contribution to this match.
  7. Awesome: http://twitter.com/#!/CMPunk/status/31231932834516992
  8. Add Shane and Linda in fairly short succession.
  9. Bix going back to this what forums has Alan4L registered to just to shill DG? All I have ever seen him on is F4W, DVDR and CZWFans all of which he has been for years probably even pre his DG fandom.
  10. Have to laugh at the current DVDR voting.
  11. Like I said above I think in part it is a demographic issue look at all these people you are referring to they are now mostly in their early to mid 20s mostly well educated earning real money for the first time. They wouldnt be able to afford tapes from Rob Butcher (if they knew who he was) and it would probably be too awkward to ask relations to buy tapes for them in their teens or whatever. Im projecting some of my own experience to generalise here but I know Im not unique.
  12. Like I said Bix it is hard to pin down and isolate why people like what they like I was just giving factors most of which were my experience. Part of it is "we" "got" Puro 10-15 years after you guys in the States after being "teased" from sources from Powerslam to the WCW crusierweight division. But mainly people just like what they like. I really dont know why more people dont watch Lucha or why comparatively why Alan's threads on F4W get more attention that say KrisZs do. Not a foriegn commentary issue nor isnt that huge of a leap style wise from Dragon Gate for a fair amount of it. If you want to talk about Alan yes he doesnt watch Lucha to any great degree but he does watch tonnes of old Japan via Dave Ditch's awesome archive. I dont see Alan as this major taste maker you are making him out to be if anything he takes shit even from his friends online for being in their view hyperbolic or being too generous with his snowflakes. I dont know why he has become a hobby horse for you recently.
  13. Why do you find it "inexplicable" is another question? I dont know why it gets the super duper mega hate on here to be honest. To answer your question it is hard to pin down and isolate essentially we got our shit 10-15 years But Keith might be right with the TWC thing (allowing people to get exposed to Puro and ROH at a younger more impressible age), to me what also plays into it is that Japanese wrestling up until that point (pre-mass broadband internet roll out) was fairly hard to get access wise and very expensive, there is also a demographic component in my opinion linked into that to all that too (most people my age got it drilled into our heads how cool and "exotic" the Japan scene was in the mid/late 1990s by only reading about it in Powerslam so the seed was sown at an early age) and finally hey how about there are people actually like a style that is different from what you like, crazy I know. Worst taste in Wrestling in the world and that.
  14. Us Western Europeans wont take this sitting down, Bix
  15. I share Keith's view on Dave's comments on Rampage and Evans I thought the hype was awful, low brow (racial) stuff. Im not usually a guy who regularly points to stuff and proclaim it "bad for the sport." But I really did think at the time that this is the exact opposite of what UFC should promote.
  16. Something was found in an old F4W:
  17. Full credit to amdrag on the F4W board
  18. To follow up Black Terry didnt even get an honourable mention in the Observer Best Brawler award.
  19. I never understood that mindset, even a little. I wonder how much of a role Miz's success played into that. He's clearly a huge fan and used that as part of his motivation. Also seeing how the wrestlers who were hired during the "no fans" period clearly had no passion for the business, and either quit or just gave up until they got endeavored probably played a part too. It's probably a little harder to find people who want to get into wrestling who aren't fans these days. During the boom it had to be a lot easier, no? Now you sort of have to be a mark for the business for wanting to head that way instead of doing something with MMA or what have you. Or at least that's my generalization for today. Email Nancy
  20. I wonder how many TNA talents would know the story of Gorgeous George?
  21. PWInsider Check out the fourth and fifth paragraph:
  22. One wrestler is noticeably missing from the on/off stage battles… Oh Trips IS in the book as is the Undertaker apparently. Jericho talks about being by his account stupid rubbing both up the wrong way early in his first WWE stint. As well as stating he kind of stunk and couldnt work WWE style.

  24. Alan4L made it pretty clear that he wasnt joking saying this. Flair is staying in someones house around the corner from Alan's home in Dublin.
