He commentated for WCW, SMW among others too. He accompanied Bret Hart during a PR tour of Germany last year for his book. He is/was also a TV executive in Dubai. We should write a book about him.

Bix look at what you inspired:

Any of you guys listen to the start of the April 5th edition of PWTorchcast with Keller and Powell which was made prior to Impact? Talking about Kanyon and concussions in general. Powell made some interesting and very sad comments about Kanyon that he was known to sometimes throw up after matches (a sign of a concussion) while also mentioning it was almost routine for Benoit to do the same thing after doing the diving headbutt for a period. Has that been revealed before? Wade said he has emailed Dixie on the issue of concussions yet never got a reply.

Vincent K took my baby away. Oliver has tonnes of connections with WWE and UFC. He is credited with bring UFC to Germany, he negotiated the TV deal and the arena in Cologne if Im not mistaken. He is a writer for the German Fighting Spirit magazine, German commentator for UFC etc. He seemed to know Shane McMahon quite well also I remember him saying he was involved in bringing WWE magazine to Germany. Any of you guys traded tapes with him back in the day?

The title of Wade's audio review is pretty great too: As was Meltzer's kid atting worms analogy
-
Especially how important European tours was to WWF at the time.

You are forgetting that the Kliq wasnt doing jobs outside of the Kliq and often jobs full stop.

In fairness a flat screen would be difficult to see.

Michael Cole still running the site I see

I don't find the "matter of factly" very compelling. I've had people "matter of factly" say it about it. That New Jack turned out "right" with something tossed at Wade really isn't relevant. Slow down and think about it: it's not likely that New Jack is someone that Wade would share it with. If New Jack, of all people, got it second/third/fourth hand it would have been all over the place given the circles New Jack ran in. Similar to RF (pre-TV outting) and Ryder's were over the years. With Wade it just wasn't, other than the typical stuff that gets thrown at most sheet writers from people in the industy. John Ok this is getting silly and not worth arguing about but New Jack said it almost completely out of character it was not in the middle of calling him a cracker or honky. His matter of factness lead me to ask whether it was an open secret to some in the Wrestling business.

Ive always wanted to see footage of one of those Backlund/Diesel matches from early in his reign.
-
Again New Jack said it matter of factly with no f-bombs and wasnt in a rage. Why was Claudio employed by WWE for very short time?

Wasn’t Lance for sure, 90% sure it was RVD. Toryumon, the elevated corner posts thing? Bryan confirmed it was Angle when I asked him on his forum was it Benoit after the murders went down. People always place Pat Patterson as the front runner don’t they? Obviously never heard it confirmed Quasi related to this thread but how open of secret was it that Wade Keller was gay within the business? I know that people did make fun of him being a non macho, vegan, heavily liberal dude and raised an eyebrow at his outrage over the culmination of the Billy and Chuck wedding but on the other hand the rumour of a relationship with Molly Holly ran rampant all over the internet for years. I watched the 2nd New Jack shoot from 1999 and he simply matter factly said Wade Keller is gay, did you know that? to Feinstein who said nothing.

Never heard that before. Wade referring to her as "Lisa" adds a layer of intrigue. Some needs to ask Meltzer about this.

Horrible turn of luck for Cassandro

Anyone else surprised by this: http://hotlineoncall.nationaljournal.com/a...rts_viewers.php Check out the diagram

Ive extend my condolenses in the other thread. It will interesting who WWE handles/words this on their site with the Linda factor and the likely grudge they hold due to the lawsuit.

This one shocked me for a weird reason. Very likable wrestler and personality. One of the guys who sued WWE over independent contractor status too. RIP

Whats the over and under on Gabe banning them now?

Again it is an ironic in joke for some

But that is a culture that seems to be a byproduct of Bryan and Dave's writings which has directly and indirectly placed far Pro Wrestling behind MMA and addition to caring disproportionately about buyrates and ratings over product and match quality. It isn’t entirely Dave and Bryan's fault it must be said with mainstream Wrestling being no great shakes, general fan jadedness and too much knowledge is often a bad thing as it seems to take away wonder from people. The lack of moderation historically is biting them in the ass too. The Torch doesn’t have those problems as often maligned (by me lol) as it is. It must also be acknowledged is that ethic of "I'm too cool to talk about wrestling on a wrestling board and if you do you're an idiot" is a simple board in-joke too for some.

Speaking of Dave has anyone hear the newly posted Ted DiBiase Torch Talk from 1994? Ted speaks highly of Meltzer. He relates a story of bumping into Dave just before he debuted in the WWF stating Dave was incredulous initially on why such a respected and renowned wrestler would ever join the WWF. Essentially thinking Ted sold out but not in those exact words.

Alverez IS a bad influence it seems

I wonder how Dave Meltzer will spin it.
