I am starting to think someone and likely someone here has put a hex on UFC: Even the ring card girls are getting into trouble. UFC just seems to lurch from disaster to disaster. Irv Muchnik needs to a WCCW style expose on the UFC at this stage.

That's a hard question to answer as MMA journalism hasn't really matured. If anything any Tom, Dick or Harry with a website or blog can get a press pass if they arent uber anti UFC. There is plenty of successful blog sites but the most popular traditional website to my reckoning at least is Sherdog. They regularly have Todd Martin on their podcasts who breaks down fights as a sports analyst would. Sporadically Dave is on Sherdog and is introduced as the" Dean" or "Professor" of MMA and is credited with being the first or the longest reigning journalist to cover the sport. The host usual pitches to Dave on history and business matters and only light pitches to him went it comes down to analysing and breaking down fights and fighters. Dave is VERY respected by MMA journalists and blogs but in my experience is still seen as "that Pro Wrestling guy?" by fans on Twitter at least. I really do think not being on Twitter/being a behind the paywall commodity hurts him greatly. Again this is from my experience blah, blah.

http://www.wwe.com/inside/jericho-brazil An earlier Wrestling Observer report: Id hate to be a WWE agent now.
-
Yeah I think long suffering PRO WRESTLING readers of the Observer will tell you Dave has primarily championed MMA and UFC since the post-2005 boom for page after page. 6 1/2 minute mark if anyone is interest:

PWInsider WWE bitch boys no more. Echos of the Jay Hassman situation.

Could be 100% B.S. but it is fairly detailed and interesting: From Scott Keith's blog: The meat of it: http://www.rspwfaq.net/2012/05/former-writ...ant-speaks.html
-
But it did have this:
-
Not saying they didnt get a letter from a "concerned mother in Ohio" but the entire cross section of WWE fans would beg Orton to do the move.
-
The whole "'Concussional' awareness" label is weird. I dont know if it was Orton hurting dudes (which he did - Vince)? Whether the move trivialised concussions/head injuries in someone's eyes? Wasnt "PG" or what?

WWE nixed their other uber protected K.O. move: https://twitter.com/RandyOrton/status/205165985345454080

Took it as a Beth Phoenix deal. Read her Twitter the past nine months and you will see what I mean.

Todd is much better on audio than he is on the written word. So I am ok with this. Poor guy seemed intent on reviewing Sports Entertainment as Wrestling.
-
The name "Ric Flair" isnt a million miles from "Roger Sterling".
-
Could be just a case where TNA were happy to sweep things under the rug until Ric started to make eyes at WWE.
-
TNA calling time on Flair? PWInsider in super detail: Seems like they have really stuck the knife in reputation and value wise.

EVOLVE has competition now http://wrestlingisserious.com/

Kind of silly but given her music was all over 80s Wrestling and 80s comps but I would just like to say RIP Donna Summer. I dont think Eddie Gilbert would be the same without this.
-
I get that ROH have poisoned the iPPV well twice/three times now but oh Gabe not again: Wrestling should be exempt from these agreements as what would it be without the bitterness and bitching.

Thought this was excellent: http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2012/5/16/30231...nt-uncalled-for

Dave on the radio re: Dana:
-
Forgot to ask this in my other post but who you do you think is Dana's intended audience for this rant? MMA media, TV industry, creating a n us vs them moment for meathead MMA fans or just Dana himself? Well that's Eric Bischoff's game isn't it?
-
Wow Dana is a prick. Dave's own comment on the forum:

Heh, far more interesting to me was Konnan's story that either Mistico or someone in Mistico's posse once pulled a gun on Alberto Del Rio and that apparently footage exist of Teddy Hart teaching cats to do moonsaults in the Hart Dungeon. I made my post before that.
-
Konnan was pretty emphatic on his new weekly podcast that Rey doesn't do (hard) drugs and isn't on juice. Konnan said Rey even told Konnan not to come to his house stoned for Rey's children's sake. Konnan is pushing the dietary supplement explanation citing Rey has issues with his love handles. He framed the defence not as Rey's best friend but as someone who just KNOWS and even acknowledged that he was always sceptical of UFC fighters when they would make similar excuses before this. Konnan further mentioned that WWE knows Rey isn't on anything as they know the true results of the testing. Giving passes to certain Wrestlers all the time.

Not really a sports fan or American but fairly well connected fan @FrontRowBrian tweeted this: Anyone?
