  7. World Wrestling Federation Superstars of Wrestling Aired February 13, 1988 (Taped January 26, 1988) Hershey Park Arena, Hershey, PA Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant (w/ Ted Dibiase & Virgil) (jip, from the Main Event) INT: Ted Dibiase & Virgil & Andre the Giant - with Dibiase sporting the World title around his waist. He says he’ll be a true champion and that Hulk Hogan went out and bought a Dave Hebner look-a-like to try and confuse the issue. INT: Hulk Hogan - conducted in the dressing room after the match on the Main Event INT: Jack Tunney - says that despite viewing the videotape on a number of occasions, the referee’s decision is, unfortunately, final, and Hulk Hogan is therefore not the champion. However it clearly states in the rulebook that in order for a wrestler to be the champion, he must pin the reigning title holder or make him submit, therefore Ted Dibiase is not the World champion either. In addition, it states in the rulebook that the champion may surrender his title at any point during his reign, which is what Andre the Giant did when he gave the belt to Dibiase, so he is also no longer the champion. He declares the title vacant and this vacancy will be filled in a tournament at Wrestlemania IV. As the last two champions, Hogan and Andre will get a bye in the first round and meet each other in the first match of round two. Says the thing that eats him up about their bout at Wrestlemania III was that there was a controversial nearfall on him early in the match and because he has heard so much about that, it makes him want the rematch even more. He says Dibiase banking everything on Andre could be his first and last mistake.
