Eddie Gilbert and Paul E. Dangerously continue to hang out on South Street and make snide comments about Missy Hyatt and Madusa. They talk to a fan on the street that gets billed as Bill Clinton's Other Half Brother. Yeah, I like Eddie Gilbert, but this is basically him jerking off.

Gilbert isn’t above spending time with his subjects of Philadelphia. Paul E calls everyone Vinny who works at the Greek pizza place. Eddie enjoys a slice of pizza.

Paul and Eddie make inside jokes and there's more making fun of the Philly sports teams. And then this goes on and on AND ON AND IT'S LIKE FIVE FUCKING MINUTES OF BLITHERING ABOUT PIZZA. Yeah, is any of this building to anything? This segment in particular may be the moment Hot Stuff jumped the shark.

This is where these hit me with a huge thud. This lasted FOREVER and nothing was really funny at all. It was the pizza shops clowning for the camera and no conceivable wrestling angle being built to.

This was completely bizarre on all kinds of levels. Most of these have already been touched on, but you also had a reluctant cameo from Jay Sulli, who continues to make a case for Worst Announcer of the Year, and the ECW production crew, of all people, making fun of the pizza in the pizza shop. Paul was at least somewhat funny calling everyone Vinnie. and the civilians were good sports more or less, but Eddie, the so-called star of the segments, was so far below par it was ridiculous.

 

The more he hangs around Philadelphia, the clearer it becomes that he's strictly a southern act. He needed to either mend fences in Memphis or try SMW, where he wouldn't have been head booker, but would have been a great addition as a second front, so to speak, in the Armstrong-Corny wars. Just dust off some of the stuff he used to drive Bill Watts crazy in the UWF and put Bullet Bob in the Cowboy's place. It would have kept the feud hot while Corny was off doing WWF appearances.

 

I heard some of the jokes about Missy, but I must have missed when they were talking about Medusa, not that that's a great loss under these circumstances.
