El-P
Got a major kick out of this : Palais de l'Elysée is the French equivalent to the White House. Nicolas Sarkozy is obviously the current president. François Hollande is the guy who will (hopefully) kick him out. El Flaco is a reference to the fact Hollande used to be fat and dropped a lot of weight the past year, and really looks different now and more "credible" as a presidential candidate in his current shape. There were other posters with minor candidates too. Great stuff.

El-P
The François Hollande vs Nicolas Sarkozy debate was pretty awesome. 3 hour + of dogfighting. Sarko was a great heel, he showed quite a bit of ass and came off like an asshole. Did a few comedy spot a la Arn Anderson, tripping on the French language a few times. Cut some good promos with *lies*, which is what heel do. Hollande was a bit tiedous at first, but made some great fiery comeback and cut an awesome promo, overall he showed much more class and came off as the Man more than his opponent. I'd say Sarko did the job in the end.
gordi
Way to burn money, French Presidential Election! Does nobody working for FPE understand that the heel needs to go over first, so the face can make his comeback later and get revenge? El-P
Way to burn money, French Presidential Election! Does nobody working for FPE understand that the heel needs to go over first, so the face can make his comeback later and get revenge? Nope. It's the big money comeback, as Sarkozy already beat Ségolène Royal 5 years ago, and Ségolène is François Hollande's ex wife. Yeah, it's Kevin Sullivan like booking here ! Of course it would have been even better if Ségo made a heel turn and joined Hollande, but instead they turned some mid-carders like Eric Besson (who turned into a fantastic racist heel), former humanitarian Bernard Kouchner and even Frédéric Mitterand (the nephew of former socialist president François Mitterand), which gained tons of support heat for Sarko, who didn't need it anyway. We got through a 5 year heat sequence, and only now Hollande will hulk up and will probably (please please please!) make a clean swipe and kick the asses of the evil cohorts of Sarko next Sunday ! sek69
I can only hope the debates were hosted by a French equivalent of JR yelling MON DIEU! MON DIEU!
NintendoLogic
So it looks like the right-wing party is splitting into UMP Hollywood and UMP Wolfpac. Does that make Francois Hollande the Sting of French politics?
El-P
So it looks like the right-wing party is splitting into UMP Hollywood and UMP Wolfpac. Does that make Francois Hollande the Sting of French politics? Holy shit ! Thanks for the laugh ! (yes, that would make François Hollande the Sting of French politics : he's already a bit of a flop on top although it's not his fault and probably won't be in the HOF when all is done, but he's dear to my heart )
Loss
Is Marine Le Pen a good comparison to JBL?
El-P
No. Not close. Try Ron Wright doing a Nazi gimmick instead. (although that would be her father)
Ditch
Apparently the election was a Loser Leaves Town match... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-22...llion-fund.html
El-P
I wish. But nah, he's not leaving. He'll make a comeback in 2017 I fear, as the babyface reign of Hollande doesn't work very well thus far.
Ditch
There's no way leaving the country for tax purposes is something a person can overcome in politics. In the US it would be about not loving America enough; in France (I'm guessing) it would be about not loving France enough to pay his share. Plus the corruption stuff. Or are people more forgiving in France? They certainly are in Italy given how long Berlusconi survived.
El-P
Well, Sarko isn't in politics anymore. Officialy. But if the UMP can't find a guy that can draws in 2017, they'll go back to Sarko like Vince went back to Bret in 95. As far as leaving, hell, everyone was hysterical about Gerard Depardieu first leaving for Belgium and then for Russia. RUSSIA ! But as great as Depardieu has been as an actor, it's well known he's a complete drunk dick at this point. Shitloads of sports guy don't pay their taxes despite having beneficiated from the State's high level training schools, as soon as they make money they fly off to Monaco or Swiss, and my dumbfuck compadre still cheer as all hell for them. As far as politics goes, it would be a no-no obviously. We're not nearly as bad as Italy (which is a mind-blowing country in that respect), but tons of shit happens here that would never be allowed in anglo-saxons countries in term of corruption and conflict of interest. French people are never happy anyway, we're grumpy people.
