People keep mentioning it. What is it? I know it's an indy, but is it an American indy? Who are their top stars? What type of style do they promote? Where the hell did that name come from? Thanks.

They're best at comedy matches. Darkness Crabtree had me marking hard when I saw him against the boys from Osaka Pro.

Keep in mind Chikara usually attracts about 60-100 fans per show. Tim hooked me up with a couple of shows and they were inside this little dance hall that looked like it would book wedding receptions for the couple that is strapped for cash. At least it wasn't in a basement like Corino's old PWF group.

I think there is some running joke about the owner's name.

Chikira is fun for its comedy. The actual wrestling leaves a lot to be desired. Though Larry Sweeney is a top notch heel and I actually wanted to see him get his ass handed to him on numerous occasions.

The majority of the roster being made up of inexperienced rookies puts a limit so on how good the actual matches can get, but even if not technically great most stuff Chikara puts out manages to be at least entertaining, particularly the comedy, which if Darkness Crabtreee especially is involved is solid gold.

Lots of flashy gimmicks with a Lucha influence is the general rule for most guys there.
