Lawler is announced as having regained the Unified title. It's a heel crowd that is totally supporting Lawler. Eddie Marlin will have an announcement later in the show.

Dave Brown and Jerry Lawler at the desk. Brown goes over the card and references an announcement. He is going to bring out Eddie Marlin later to explain it.

A partisan Lawler crowd in attendance this morning in the USWA studio.

It's unbelievable how even Lawler at his most obnoxious can't be booed for longer than a few minutes by the Memphis faithful. Even if they're booing him at the end of one show, they're back cheering him by the start of the next one. Most bookers would be scratching their heads trying to figure out where they went wrong, but in Lawler's case, he's one of the bookers himself, so it's all good.

Thought Lawler may have been doing a heel I Memphis/face in Texas thing at first but it's a heel crowd, to Lawlers delight.

The show opens and the first thing we see are some fans in the audience with a poster saying ‘Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler is #1 World Champion’ and Dave says how he’s bought the fan club with him today! Lawler says that he sees there are some intelligent fans around here which gets a good cheer from them. Dave runs down who will be appearing today and announces that Eddie Marlin will be here later to explain all about the ‘new’ USWA.
