Loss Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 According to Scherer's hotline: * HHH will be out until after Summerslam because the creative team thinks he's overexposed. He may even take more time off than that to make another movie. * Edge/Cena is the planned Summerslam main event at this point.
Guest Dorian Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 ...the creative team actually believes HHH is overexposed? So HHH won't be at SummerSlam at all? Holy shit, you mean they are promoting another person as the lead heel of RAW? Too long, too late; me thinks.
Loss Posted July 6, 2005 Author Report Posted July 6, 2005 I'm assuming Cena/Jericho will be blown off on TV before the big event if that's the plan, but I'd rather see Edge use his MITB stip immediately after Cena beats Jericho or something. That way, the feud that is starting to gain momentum is saved for the big show and everyone wins. It's also interesting how much more they're willing to invest in Jericho the moment he turns heel. He works as a face and can't get anywhere near the belt, turns heel and is immediately there. They obviously have much more faith in him in that role.
sek69 Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 They probably have more faith since Jericho's roughly a zillion times better as a heel.
goodhelmet Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 If I get my issue of the Observer this week, and Meltz prints it, I'll believe it. I just don't trust Scherer's word.
Coffey Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 I think it's interesting that as soon as Kevin Dunn leaves the writing team Triple H gets taken off of TV.
sek69 Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 I thought Kevin Dunn was the TV producer. Brian Gewirtz is the guy who left the writing team.
goodhelmet Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 Speaing of Kevin Dunn, I was watching the Best of WWF Vol. 19 last night and he is the geekiest, annoying f**ker you have ever seen. Does not look anything like I imagined him to be.
Coffey Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 I thought Kevin Dunn was the TV producer. Brian Gewirtz is the guy who left the writing team. Yeah, that's what I meant. I got the names confused.
Guest Some Guy Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 I'm assuming Cena/Jericho will be blown off on TV before the big event if that's the plan, but I'd rather see Edge use his MITB stip immediately after Cena beats Jericho or something. I would have Cena/Jericho be the ME of SS with Edge annoucing that he will use his MitB contract imediately following the match. It fits with Edge's charcter to want to take the easy way out. HHH should have gone on vacation after Backlash. I can't see him skipping Summerslam, though. There's too much money to lose for him by not being in the ME or at least in a top match. If he does skip the PPV then he and Cena will ME WM 22.
Slasher Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 The creative team thinks Jericho is better in the heel role as a potential champion than he would as a face champion. They basically liked his heel CW stuff in WCW and thinks that's the only effective champion's gimmick Jericho could pull off.
