Dylan Waco
http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkC...2658&cmd=tc Episode 19 of the Wrestling Culture podcast! This time Dave Musgrave has to deal with two Hales brothers, as we were joined by my younger brother Devon Hales. Devon talks about his fear of the Kiss Demon, our mother dancing to Rikishi's music, how a small Southern independent was his alternative to the WWE, his love for Don Owen, and the OCD that all true wrestling geeks share. It's a multi-generational look at the EVOLUTION OF A WRESTLING FAN with added bonus of Devon singing the Honkytonk Man's theme song.

Exposer
I think my Honky Tonk Man rendition was the greatest ever. I don't think I can be touched with regards to that.
JerryvonKramer
This is interesting and will inspire a thread I'm going to make in a bit, but what is the show you did last night with Will that you mention?
puropotsy
It's actually a show we're looking at for the next couple days with Will talking about the Yearbook Projects.
soup23
Good to know that Devon is on summer break and that accounts for him being able to blow through the yearbook because I have been watching it a pretty relentless pace and he is leaving me in the dust. Really interested for the yearbook and AWA podcasts. I really like how Dylan talked about that the thing he likes the best now is getting the big picture and that is why I think the 80's sets and yearbooks are so appealing because before you really were limited in what to watch but now you can get the best stuff and major happenings for all the companies or in the 80's project a specific company throughout the decade and evaluate appropriately on what holds up over time. Dylan Waco
Devon is a footage watching beast. I've been known to be pretty crazed in that regard myself but he's at least as nutty in that regard as I am. Looks like we'll have another show up very, very soon on the yearbooks. AWA set show will follow hopefully next weekend, but certainly not much later than that under any circumstances as we are extremely close to finalizing a match list. goodhelmet
Hmmm... I might have to replace one Hales brother with another in the 80s project

Just wonder how you manage it being married and all.
goodhelmet
I can answer that one... you lock the wife in the closet and slide the plate under the door. Isn't that hard to do.

Just wonder how you manage it being married and all. Answer? Too much. It comes in waves though and I don't sleep a lot so often times the bulk of it is done when everyone else in the house is sleeping. It doesn't hurt that with certain things my daughter enjoys watching with me (current WWE, most Lucha, matches involving fat guys who take big bumps)
Exposer
Let me answer that. He's the most insane multi-tasker EVER. Iv'e seen that motherfucker eat dinner, tell his daughter to clean up the living room, argue with his wife, talk to me about some arbitrary topic, watch footage and review it all at the same time. JerryvonKramer
Have to admit, going in I was a bit worried that it would be 2 hours of Cena chat, but I obviously shouldn't have underestimated the little bro of Mr Hales -- in a way, I should have expected it. That reminds me, I was going to make a thread about wrestling fandom and geekery -- and why the two things seem to go hand-in-hand. Will save it for now. The idea that someone can not remember the MNW era is legitimately mindblowing for me. But Devon has exactly the right attitude. I've developed a concept called "eating your sprouts" -- basically going back and doing your homework. Great to see someone actually doing it!
