It seems like ever since Michaels mouthed "I'm sorry, I love you", WWE started having this obsession with heavy verbalizing in some of their big matches. I guess it ties into the whole "self concious epic" stuff.

I guess it ties into the whole "self concious epic" stuff. WWE did the same crap with the Jericho vs Punk match at WrestleMania. The camera would get a close-up of Jericho and we could hear him say some very cheesy family insults to try to make Punk DQ himself. Jericho saying "How's your sister?" in the hammiest way possible and Punk's "furious" reaction made both guys look like terrible actors.
