Raven is cutting one of his typical slacker promos when a pair of cowboy boots and a familiar voice show up and tell him he needs to stand up. I don't think these two really have chemistry as characters, but Funk was fantastic here -- head and shoulders above everyone in the ECW environment. I honestly think his promos so far this year have been my favorite of his career. Raven needed to sell a little fear and he didn't, which kept this from getting to the next level for me.

This reached next level for me mainly for the astute director position of just filming Terry's boots. That was so powerful and got across the old grandpa telling a life story to his grandson who whines about having it so bad. Funk is awesome in 1997.

Raven wants to wrestle anyone else but Terry Funk at Barely Legal. They were building it towards Funk winning the three way and facing Raven. Funk thinks this is a “stupid damn thing” of a promo segment. Funk would make a great motivational speaker.

Funk can't help that Raven's father was an idiot, but he's going to beat the shit out of him on April 13. Fantastic hype for the PPV, as Funk walks the line between being your grandpa and being one scary bastard.
