Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
Brian Christopher comes up with an on-the-fly explanation for Billy Joe Travis getting arrested. He explains that he got Travis arrested for vandalism of his truck a few weeks ago and they were thankful because he was late on his alimony and child support anyway. Michael St. John has a letter from ECW complaining about their treatment in Memphis, but it's too graphic to read on the air. Lawler is glad they're upset with him and invites the ECW guys to come back to Memphis anytime they want. We finally return to the big question: Is Brian Christopher Jerry Lawler's son? This sets Lawler off on a tangent about how wrestling was so much better when there was still mystery and everyone wasn't aiming to know everything. He goes on an undercover rant about kayfabe and he'd rather not answer the question. Brian laughs at him and simply says "It's a simple question". Lawler makes it a point that some things are personal and he'd rather people just know him inside the ring. Brian is about to answer it and Lawler tells him he can't answer it because Lawler said so. This is a riot. Lawler does not want this said! Must-see interview.
Kevin Ridge
Lawler was great in this interview as he believes there should privacy and he doesn’t need to explain everything about himself. He doesn't like the loss of kayfabe in wrestling. Jerry is sore about Albert Belle going to the White Sox. Hey, that contract ended up being terrible for them. Lawler more serious that last week about these claims about Brian and goes out of his way to shut up Christopher from answering the question. soup23
Brian is in an exuberant mood. The explanation about Billy Joe's arrest was great thinking on the fly. Jerry's promo against the burning question feels like the steroid stint and him utilizing a real life situation in a storyline way. Him asking about the phone number and income taxes is not a bad defense. Christopher looks ready to spill the beans but Jerry holds him off. PeteF3
Big cheers when it's announced that Travis has been behind on alimony and child support. I don't know if *that's* the proper reaction, but this was some tremendous on-the-fly thinking on almost all parties. Lawler is out to respond to a complaint letter sent to the studio by ECW and continues to throw out challenges. Moving to the Burning Question--Lawler laments that wrestling was better when there was some mystique to it. He points out that seeing the latest Jurassic Park movie was helped because Steven Spielberg didn't pop up on the screen saying, "Hey, these aren't real dinosaurs!" Oh, Jerry...it's going to get worse before it gets better. (And gosh, most of us Indians fans were glad to be rid of Albert Belle.) Lawler ultimately decides he isn't going to answer, then tells Christopher he can't answer, either...which pretty much answers the question. A really good, quick, shoot-looking physical altercation follows.
