Edwin Posted August 6, 2018 Report Posted August 6, 2018 This is from the first EVOLVE show, EVOLVE 1. It's not particularly groundbreaking, but it's definitely fun, it doesn't overstay it's welcome as it finishes at the right time and they don't go overboard into overkill with the endless 2.99 kick outs of finishers. There isn't particularly a whole lot of selling of story telling as it's more of an exhibition with some fast paced exchanges. Some cool stuff from both, namely Sawa's baseball punch, a great drop toe hold into a back take transition into an armbar and a rapid manjigatame from Sawa. Quote
cactus Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 They open with some neat mat-wrestling exchanges. The strike-offs in this match felt much more organic than they did during the main event. They had some oomph behind them and Sawa looked quite charismatic dishing out some stiff shots to TJP. This was a good example of what to expect out of EVOLVE. It's didn't go on too long, and it made Sawa look like a threat. ★★★ Quote
