Al
Depends on the price. If it is $14.99 or less, I would definately consider adding it to my collection.

JHawk
There's enough on it that I haven't seen that I might consider buying it. This is one time where not having the Mid-South and World Class libraries is biting Vince in the ass though, as most of Jake's best stuff came from those two areas. Loss
Are they gonna bury the Snake? Probably not, since he participated in the production and has a Legends deal.

Guest Bruiser Chong
Considering he had the one-shot appearance this year, I doubt they'd bury him. No doubt just telling his story will do a fine job of that, though. How in the world is this thing going to be three discs, though?
Marty
Considering he had the one-shot appearance this year, I doubt they'd bury him. No doubt just telling his story will do a fine job of that, though. How in the world is this thing going to be three discs, though? I have a hunch that the main program will be pretty long since Roberts had a long career. 2 hours, maybe even 3, but that may be stretching it. I think the matches after that will stretch over to three discs alone, then you have the promos. Or, they may pull an Ultimate Warrior DVD and throw in a "bonus" disk... sek69
With the life Jake has led, just telling his story straight up would come off as a burial job. I mean, how can you spin that in any positive way at all?
Marty
With the life Jake has led, just telling his story straight up would come off as a burial job. I mean, how can you spin that in any positive way at all? I think it'd be more Jake saying how he had a great career, fucked things up, and has no one to blame but himself, thanks to the WWE for all the opportunities, blah, blah, blah, rather than everyone burying the guy, like in the Warrior DVD. In other words, the story may not be positive, but compared to the alternative, it looks far better.
Marty
I looked a bit closer at the cover of the set, and I think it says "2-disc set". They'll easily fill the two discs with the content they have listed.

Marty
Was his fued with Rude the one where the ravishing one ended up naked on tv/ a live audience? It was towards the tail end of it. I think the listed match vs. Rude happened just after it, just before Roberts' feud with Andre. Rude wasn't naked, btw. He had a g-string on. Loss
I'm trying to remember which Rick Rude feud had him pouring mouthwash in his opponent's eyes. It was either Jake or Piper, but I can't remember for sure. I just recall that being pretty fucking hardcore.
Marty
I'm trying to remember which Rick Rude feud had him pouring mouthwash in his opponent's eyes. It was either Jake or Piper, but I can't remember for sure. I just recall that being pretty fucking hardcore. It was Piper. Piper was on the Brother Love Show, Heenan distracted him from one side, causing Rude to sneak up on him and splash mouthwash into his eyes, then a Rude Awakening of course. I believe it was after Piper cost Rude the Intercontinental title against the Warrior at SummerSlam '89. I actually have an old WWF Magazine with a Piper interview, hyping Survivor Series versus Rude's team, and some of the barbs Piper throws at Rude and Heenan are classic. Too bad the copy I have is at my parents' place; otherwise I'd waste no time sharing them with everyone.
Guest Bruiser Chong
By all accounts, this is sounding like an excellent DVD. The feature is supposed to be one of the better ones they've put together. No FYE bonus disc as earlier reported, but WWE.com is offering a gift set of sorts that includes a bitchin' Jake the Snake t-shirt (looks exactly like the green one from the late '80s). I've wanted that shirt for years, but I may just get one on eBay (the new one, not the originals), since this sounds like a set I wanna check out ASAP. Mad Dog
I could've done without ever seeing the Savage snake bite again and to top it off they showed the Halloween Havok bite too. I also like how they went out of their way to bury Beyond the Mat which was totally predictable.
sek69
Netflix usually carries WWE DVDs, and they don't have this one as of yet. Boo-urns to that.
Mad Dog
The main feature is decent but it flies around wildly and it's hard to tell what year your supposed to be in. Vince and Lawler come across like giant douches for the 96 stuff. EDIT: I have to add that I liked the Road Warriors feature better.
sek69
How can they bury Beyond the Mat when it was just them filming Jake being Jake?
Mad Dog
Because Vince got pissy about the movie after it came out and it's company line to say BTM isn't accurate.
sek69
What, is Vince going for the ultimate history rewrite and now trying to say Jake wasn't an addict who abandoned his family? Cause that would take some balls so big you'd have to purchase them at Costco.
Mad Dog
Actually it came off really bad because they were essentially bashing BTM for showing Roberts like they just earlier in said DVD were talking about with the guy. They were also trying to really get across that Vince would never let a worker work drunk and I about yelled bullshit at the screen.
