Loss Posted September 5, 2014 Author Report Posted September 5, 2014 Black and white recap of the Lawler-Hales angle from the week before. Lawler is hanging out in the control room this week. Television shows talking about their desire to draw television ratings is too meta for me. They tout their high ratings from the week before, and Lawler calls himself a fan-friendly promoter. He gives a rundown of today's matches, which makes today's lineup sound like a great show. Brandon Baxter, accompanied by Billy Joe Travis, interrupts and refuses to have the match. Finally, Lawler and Travis are going to have a piledriver match later in the show. Travis should not be talking at this point - I have no idea what the hell he is saying and his voice is shrieking. soup23 Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 Lawler sure does love that control. I agree that the ratings talk wasn't too interesting here and having the highest ratings on a four month show isn't the biggest acomplishment. Today, BIll Dundee faces Koko b Ware and Lawler faces BJT. Quote
Migs Posted February 28, 2015 Report Posted February 28, 2015 It should of course be noted that this was the summer - all those shows they mentioned beating in the ratings were reruns. Quote
PeteF3 Posted July 18, 2016 Report Posted July 18, 2016 Welllll...the comparison was to other shows on Saturdays, and those are usually syndicated reruns to begin with--including the shows like X-Files and Murphy Brown that Lawler mentioned by name. Lawler announces a loaded episode of TV, including an 8-man elimination match, Bill Dundee vs. Koko Ware, himself vs. Billy Travis in a piledriver match, and a back alley street fight between Brandon Baxter and Stacy!
