Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
Just the last few minutes, thank God. The smoke blasts are terrible. Warrior is in for a few seconds then disappears, then reappears at the entrance. Hogan slips out of the cage and Warrior can't figure out that he'll have to leave the cage if he wants to get his hands on Hogan. Warrior kicks the cage open and goes after Hogan in the entrance way. This feud is awful and it gets worse. Botched finish with Stevie Ray sees DDP win the match and secure the title shot with Goldberg at Havoc. Well at least that came out of it. Zenjo
I can't remember if this was the worst War Games of all time? The Russo one was bound to be horrific. I don't think I want to do the necessary research.
soup23
This was really bad with Hogan and Warrior not being bothered to go for a title shot but also not feeling like a real personal vendetta but Hocus Pocus bullshit. Everyone looked to be going through the motions as much as they could to get this over with. DDP does secure a big title shot which is a nice nod to his effort the past two years. PeteF3
Laughably bad action--I thought about firing up this match in full to see if it's truly a WMOTYC but I think we have enough here to determine that it is. Hogan is a total idiot here, as the dumbass rules are that you can win by pinfall even before everyone has entered in the cage--with a title shot on the line, why is this not just a 9-man battle royal in a WarGames cage? Anyway, everyone's out and Hogan has rendered Kevin Nash dead, but he doesn't cover because he has to wait for Warrior to make his entrance. There are about 370 other things wrong with what we see, from the blown finish to the inexplicable sudden presence of security, to...whatever. This show's reputation as one of the worst PPVs ever is well-deserved.
xlynwoodx
The winner of the fall gets a title shot against Goldberg, who doesn't even make an appearance on the show. For some reason, there were three teams of 3, battling for an individual goal. The only person who appeared to have any loyalty to his "teammate" appeared to be Stevie Ray, who was aligned with Hogan. Bret Hart was a part of nWo Hollywood, but got attacked by Hogan. There was some sort of an attack on Thunder involving the nWo factions, but we were never clear on who was aligned with who. No video package before the match and the poor commentators couldn't keep track of anybody. I watched the entire show, and not one participant in the match appeared on camera to give an interview about the importance of this match or the World title. The only guys who seemed to care in the ring were DDP and Sting. Everyone else was just going through the motions. Oh yea, they also randomly announced Sting has a match against Goldberg the next night on Nitro, and openly questioned Sting's motivation tonight. Hot mess of a match that did everything it could to make you care less.
