Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
Austin drags Vince into the ring and wants the Titantron to fire up footage from the celebration earlier tonight. Vince grovels for mercy and famously soils himself, starts crying and even starts praying. Vince goes way above and beyond the call of duty to get this over but gets the BANG 3:16 toy and a stunner. I think they were out to see just how far they could go, and they definitely pushed the envelope here. But I still think this was uncomfortable viewing. Zenjo
After a series of torture porn segments it all culminates in Vince wetting himself in the middle of that very ring. It takes one crazed, twisted mind to even think this stuff up, let alone do it. McMahon has absolutely no shame and would do practically anything if he thought it was good for business. soup23
We all know what the payoff is to this. Vince pisses his pants and we get a Bang 3:16. Overall, this Raw was troubling. We have seen more influence in elaborate contractions and story long narratives. This is a direct correlation to Russo gaining more power. The first weeks with the hospital attack and cement in the convertible were cute and innovative but this felt more like a crash tv angle. This was the worst Austin has looked since the 3;16 crapper stuff that was in a down period. I am fearful of where the company is headed from an entertainment standpoint. WWF in 1998 has been invigorating based not as much on in ring action (though it has shined there when needed in big moments) but on the rise of the top of the card and the interplay between Austin and McMahon. The product throughout the year hasn't been flawless whether it was Val Venis or the depush of Owen but the top line stuff kept it moving forward. Now, this Raw felt like a shift in direction and I am interested to see how much that persists in the week ahead.
Migs
Why wouldn't Austin use the duress to get McMahon to reinstate him? Makes him look like a sadistic asshole.
PeteF3
Yeah, this feels more like a '99 Raw segment than '98. The talk about how Vince "won't feel a thing" is some more foreshadowing, but a few bits of cleverness isn't enough to make up for just how weird and "off" this whole show feels.
