Loss
Beginning of the tribute to Owen. Howard Finkel asks everyone in attendance to stand while they toll the bell ten times to pay respect to Owen Hart. They play a video tribute to Owen narrated by Vince. They even include a clip of him with Bret. Jim Ross explains what the format of the show will be tonight. We hear from lots of wrestlers, but we kept comments from Mick Foley and Mark Henry, who read a poem.
Tim Evans
Good edit job on this. The time after the Benoit tragedy was worse but this was a tough time to be a fan. Especially after watching that PPV live.
soup23
Agree that I didn't need to see the Austin toast again. The Henry poem in particular always tugs at my heartstrings.
Zenjo
Owen's death was one of the low points in the history of pro wrestling. It's a terrible thing to happen to anyone. Even more so to one of the good guys in an industry filled with scumbags. The crowd and his fellow workers stand for the 10 bell salute. Penny for your thoughts Vince? A touching tribute from Mick Foley. It was really sweet that Mark Henry read a poem to express his sadness.
PeteF3
Sigh. Sadly the WWF would get more practice with this in the coming years. Many of the testimonials are sincere, especially the two seen here, but the cynic in me still detects a sense of deflection and spin from the WWF as a whole, and maybe some individual members of the roster.
