Mankind wants HHH in the ring tonight in a No DQ, falls count anywhere match. He hates to bring this up, but word in the dressing room is that Chyna has been checking him out. He tells a funny story of Chyna accidentally seeing him nude in the shower and wanting to touch him in an impure way. But he wants her to know he's a happily married man.

 

We get footage of him being carted out in an ambulance, which was to write him out since he needed knee surgery.

So this is the start of the HHH/Mankind feud that lasted up to January. Funny promo from Mankind without being overly crude.

Mankind again brings more comedy. He feels kind of pushed down a bit during this time and felt in a way above the Union stuff. We do set the seeds for his feud with HHH.

Mankind successfully (apparently) goads HHH into a hardcore match by informing him that Chyna has been checking him out in the locker room. This is only about a million times better executed than the mess with Savage and the fake Nash, as if that needed saying. I agree that Mankind's sort of been lost in the wilderness really since losing the title--on the other hand, he was banged up more than usual and several months of working light probably allowed him to have that final classic run starting about 6 months from now.
