I figured I'd start a topic about this event. The lineup:

 

Bull Dempsey vs. Mojo Rawley

Enzo Amore vs. Sylvester Lefort [Hair vs. Hair Match]

The Ascension (champions) vs. Lucha Dragons (Kalisto and Sin Cara) [NXT Tag-Team Championship Match]

Charlotte (champion) vs. Bayley [NXT Women's Championship Match]

Adrian Neville (champion) vs. Sami Zayn vs. Tyler Breeze vs. Tyson Kid [Fatal 4-Way match for the NXT Championship]

 

I think this is gonna be a fun show. I'm curious to see what we get out of the main event that we haven't seen from those 4 before.

With Sasha Banks and CJ Parker, they've been doing a pretty good job of having relevant interactions with wrestlers on the pre-show. Beats the usual "who do you think is going to win?" round-the-horn.

Mojo Rawley Vs. Bull Dempsey has the potential to be the worst match in the history of professional wrestling on the "no one gives a flying fuck" scale.

I don't watch Mojo Rawley or Bull Dempsey when they're on the weekly NXT show, so they could be putting on 5-star classics and I wouldn't know any better. In all reality the match is going to be horrible.

The tag match had a ton of energy and a hot tag that i kind of liked but there was some stuff that was so ridiculously blown or contrived or something. Just gawkworthy stuff. That's the most I've seen the crowd into Kallisto though.

They problem is that Kallisto is so fast that the Ascension had no way to control it. I hate to be that guy but unless you are facing Sami Zayn or a Neville or Devitt you may need to slow it down some

 

Wait you have mystery partner and you give him a RAW jobber entrance. That is a horrible way to introduce Corbin

That was a Magnum TA vs. the Mulkeys level squash. Nice finisher from Corbin.

There was something missing in that tag match. Besides the obvious awkwardness of The Ascension trying to work with Kalisto's style, it didn't feel like a match worthy of ending a long title reign like that. Perhaps it just needed a bit more time, particularly in the heel control segment? I'm probably just spoiled from the long Usos / Wyatt Family matches on the last few PPVs.

This Enzo Amore guy is fucking terrible. Not good in the ring, annoying as shit, looks like a fucking idiot. Ugh. Just Ugh.

That hair match was a ton of fun. Simple stuff but well done and the crowd was totally into it. Awesome pre and post match. I'm terrified of what the idiotic writers and Vince would do the them on the main show.

Love everything about Enzo Amore until he actually start wrestling. He needs a lot more work in the ring

 

Now if we know our wrestling history, when you get hair cream in your eyes you risk serious blinding. I would hope that they play with that as well

I don't get this crowd. You look out at the people facing hard camera, and it looks like there's only one guy enjoying himself at all.

I haven't watched much NXT outside of the live specials since the Network launch, but the thing that always struck me about the Ascension, particularly in their match tonight, is that they aren't very good. Kalisto could have slowed things down, but that only goes so far.

This is the first time I've seen Charlotte in action, and I have to say that I really dig her touring heel champ act. She has a viciousness about her that I like a lot. So naturally, they're apparently turning her face.

Yeah, she's been great as a cocky heel lately. Very believable with her facial expressions and crowd interaction even if not everything else is there yet. Ah well.

She has good heel schtick, and on top of it she looks more physically impressive than the other women in NXT. I guess they're doing Sasha Banks as her next feud?
