Loss Posted October 29, 2014 Author Report Posted October 29, 2014 Time for some OVW. Their show opening music is "White Wedding". That's interesting. Jim Cornette enters the ring and is thrilled that he's moved back to Louisville. There was a need for the matchmaker spot and Cornette will be taking on that role. He has a few announcements. He explains the developmental deal in place with the WWF and explains that they will act as a farm system, but also says WWF stars will be working the Louisville Gardens shows when their schedule permits. Al Snow will defend against Droz at the July 20 show. Finally, he wants Kenny Bolin to come show his face and cuts a promo on him, telling Bolin he's his boss now and he's firing him as color commentator. Bolin doesn't take that well, saying Cornette will have to physically eject him if he wants him out. Wrestlers come to the ring and run him off. Quote
Tim Evans Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 Cornette has moved from Connecticut to Louisville. This all sounds nice but it feels like latter day SMW where they were depending on WWF guys to prop up the big Louisville Gardens shows. Quote
soup23 Posted June 6, 2015 Report Posted June 6, 2015 The official beginning of the OVW and WWF partnership. Cornette gets announced and gets a big ovation and being named the matchmaker. He has some words for Kenny Bolin an relieves him of his announce duties. Quote
Zenjo Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 OVW is hitting the big time. Al Snow vs Droz baby!!! It seems like matchmaker is the new kayfabe term for booker. Quote
PeteF3 Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 Cornette looks like he's dropped weight and is closer physically to his Memphis/Mid-South days than he has been in years. The prospect of moving back home and booking and coaching without all the stress of singlehandedly running a promotion had to have done wonders for his stress levels. Al Snow vs. Droz isn't the most overwhelming announcement of the first WWF talent to work OVW, but baby steps, I guess. I look forward to seeing what OVW has to offer, hopefully more Power Pro-level stuff but far less seat-of-your-pants and more planned out. Quote
