supersonic Posted March 6, 2016 Report Posted March 6, 2016 Jay Briscoe vs. Bryan Danielson A damn fine opener that did its job - get the blood flowing for the crowd, but don't have a MOTYC, and keep the match logical. These two could have easily main evented a show and had a ****+ match. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to the Briscoes vs. Samoa Joe & Danielson match on the next show. This also happens to be on Danielson's new ROH comp. Rating: ***1/2
JKWebb Posted January 22, 2018 Report Posted January 22, 2018 I'm running through that mentioned Danielson ROH comp now, and I agree that this was a really good match to open a show. I also enjoyed CM Punk on commentary. These two had good chemistry and I thought Briscoe had a strong presence about him.
ShittyLittleBoots Posted November 16, 2020 Report Posted November 16, 2020 Such an awesome opener. Starts off with some very nice, charming technical wrestling that covers the first half of it. Then they eventually start unloading the more heavy offense & things get a bit more intense, and it's equally awesome. ***1/2
ohtani's jacket Posted December 5, 2022 Report Posted December 5, 2022 Not a match I'd usually watch, but I wanted to see out the year with some Danielson. Neat opener. I've never seen the Briscoes before. This had an old-school feel to it. Danielson actually reminded me quite a bit of Backlund in this match. Briscoe hung with Danielson in a fundamentally sound way that reminded you of studio matches of days gone by. Danielson didn't do anything terribly amazing, but I liked the flow here. I'm glad I decided it to watch it.
