From the footage I've seen of him I've really liked. I think not having enough Georgia footage is going to hurt him. Lack of a lot of 70's footage will hurt. Towards the twilight of his career he had a good match with Terry Funk in the WWF. On Black Sunday he had a good match with Less Thorton. I dug his Mid-South run with TA vs. MX. I recently watched a good match match with Mr. Saito from Georgia. Footage will be key if he makes my ballot.

He was already in his 40's when he put the mask on, which will make him hard to evaluate because that WAS the twilight of his career. Hard to extrapolate precisely how good he was in the '60s with no footage.

I don't see it for Wrestling II from what we have available.

 

I see him as a gimmick wrestler whose gimmick is basically "excitable and plucky southern guy in a mask".

 

From what I understand he was scarcely even mid-card before he donned the mask.

He seems to be holding his own with some great talents on the playlist titled "Mr. Wrestling 2: Best of the Masked Men" (even if I'm actively offended by the playlists' title). Probably worth diving into what little pre-mask footage there is, although I seriously doubt he makes my list. Fun fact: His career goes far enough back that he jobbed to The Great Antonio in 1960.
