Loss
Dave Brown has been told that Tommy and Peggy Gilbert are in town, so he's excited to bring them out. But it's Brian Christopher and the Spellbinder doing yet another parody. I can already tell this will be great before either of them says anything. Brian Christopher is awesome at parodies. Spellbinder's Tommy mustache is crooked, which just makes it funnier. Brian as Peggy calls Doug a disgrace to the Gilbert family. He keeps pulling absurd things out of his purse, climaxing with a fake old Memphis program showing that Tommy Gilbert vs Moses once headlined Mid South Coliseum. Peggy then reveals that Doug is not Tommy's son. Tommy is shocked, so Brian gives him what he thinks is heart pills but it's Viagra. Peggy says Doug's real father was the Ice Cream Man. Brian Christopher!
goc
Just happened to watch this on youtube, along with the parody of Doug Gilbert & Tommy Rich from the week before. This is probably the best "impersonation" angle I've seen in wrestling, definitely better than some of the really lame ones from WWE over the years. The viagra joke, with the followup of asking Dave Brown if he wanted one had me laughing out loud. This is nice context to the infamous Doug Gilbert shoot. Tim Evans
Man Brian was so good at these with his one liners and accent. Even Dave Brown can't keep a straight face while Brian is talking about boner pills I can see why Doug went nuts during his shoot interview. PeteF3
Is *that* what this is all leading to? I guess Christopher touched Doug in a real place with some of these remarks, but it seems like standard Memphis heeling to me. This is even better than last week's skit, and who knew the freaking Spellbinder would be so good at parody? Or that Tommy Gilbert defeated Moses? There's a program and proof and everything. Dave is great here, to the point where I wonder if he's at Scott Bowden levels of being legitimately pissed, and his set-up (fully on board that the real Tommy and Peggy are coming) is perfect.
