dawho5
Another great show! Tully is easily one of the top heels across North America right now. Khan is gonna give a HUGE rub to whoever puts him away. I'm liking the Tiny Anderson stuff. Gilbert seems like he is in over his head, but I imagine he's gonna find a way to overcome. goc
Another great show! Tully is easily one of the top heels across North America right now. Khan is gonna give a HUGE rub to whoever puts him away. I'm liking the Tiny Anderson stuff. Gilbert seems like he is in over his head, but I imagine he's gonna find a way to overcome. It's not been getting that much love from people commenting on my shows but Mike Masters with Tiny Anderson as his lackey is one of things I'm having the most fun writing. No one seemed to notice that Mike Jackson of all people got a win last week by beating Tiny. Mike Masters looked pretty darn good on the Portland footage I watched and his character is pretty much exactly the same although I'm guessing if people haven't watched any of that they would think I'm just making him into a Chris Masters clone. The biggest disappointment for me writing this show was that I couldn't find a place to squeeze in a Lord Alfred promo. I had to cut a Sheik Adnan promo from last week's show too and I'm regretting that now as I would have liked to have his story advanced a bit further along at this point. So if anyone is reading these thinking "god why is this so long?" it could be even longer if I wasn't trying to stay true to the times I have allotted to each segment on my notes. rainmakerrtv
I remember watching Mike Masters in Portland footage and that was exactly what I was thinking, that he was doing the Chris Masters gimmick ahead of its time.

After the match Roy Lee Welch & Robert Fuller got into an argument and argued all the way back to the dressing room. Winners: Roy Lee Welch & Robert Fuller in 8:03 after Welch made T.G. Stone submit to a spinning toe hold *Steve Stack went backstage to talk to Roy & Robert about their problems after this match and and the interview will be shown on the next episode of Southwest Championship Wrestling Stan Stasiak vs. Steve Pardee - It appears that Stan Stasiak accepted Steve Pardee's challenge because Lord Alfred Hayes did not accompany Stasiak to the ring for this match. Stan Stasiak started the match by gesturing towards the outside of the ring to show Pardee that Lord Alfred was not there and then extended his hand for a handshake. Pardee accepted and then was immediately taken down by a short arm clothesline from Stan Stasiak! Stasiak quickly took advantage of the situation stomping on Pardee and pounding on him as he tried to get back to his feet. Stan grabbed a headlock on Steve Pardee and maintained control for several minutes while Pardee continued working in vain to escape the hold. Once they were down on the mat Pardee was finally able to slip out of the headlock and establish a headscissors on Stasiak, to ensure this match will get questionable youtube comments in the years to come. Stasiak is able to scoot towards the ropes and get one of his feet out of the ring to force the referee to break the hold. Pardee gets up first and waits on Stasiak who comes charging at him only to get an arm drag and then a dropkick once he's back to his feet. Pardee grabs an arm bar on Stasiak and Stasiak tries to bodyslam him only for Pardee to hang on and keep control of the arm bar. Stasiak again manages to get to the ropes to force a break and this time he grabs Pardee's tights as Steve is trying to break and pulls him forward and thru the ropes to go crashing down to the arena floor. Pardee tries to get back in the ring but Stasiak continues to stomp and beat on him as he tries to roll under the bottom rope or come up on the apron. Pardee gets up on the apron again and this time Stasiak turns him around and starts hammering him with forearms across the chest. Stasiak looks to try and bring Pardee in the ring with a back suplex but Pardee kicks and fights as he's coming in and instead lands on his feet with Stasiak in a headlock position. Pardee quickly runs forward and drops Stasiak down with a Bulldog and makes the cover for the count of 3! Winner: Steve Pardee in 9:27 after a Bulldog After the match as Steve Pardee is getting ready to leave the ring, Stan Stasiak grabs him and turns him around. Pardee puts up his fists but Stan Stasiak extends his hand for a handshake. Pardee isn't quite sure at first but he finally shakes Stan Stasiak's hand and Stasiak raises Pardee's arm in a sign of respect. Suddenly Lord Alfred Hayes comes down and jumps up on the apron, going crazy shouting at Stan Stasiak. Stasiak & Pardee are focused on Lord Alfred when suddenly they get attack from behind by Mike Masters! Steve Pardee gets tossed out of the ring where Lord Alfred starts putting the boots to him while Mike Masters puts Stan Stasiak in the Full Nelson! Masters really clamps down hard on it and starts swinging Stasiak around while he's still locked in the Full Nelson! Referee Jack Howe tells Mike Masters if he doesn't release Stan Stasiak right now he'll be suspended so Masters pulls Stasiak up and slams him down with a Full Nelson slam! Mike Masters & Lord Alfred Hayes walk back to the locker room together to a chorus of boos. Winner faces the AWA World Tag Team Champions: The Fabulous Ones vs. The Assassins - The Fabulous Ones come out first and get jumped in the aisle by The Assassins! The referee refuses to give The Assassins a forfeit win and Stan Lane gets Steve Keirn up on the apron in their corner and then gets in the ring and tells the referee to ring the bell. Lane starts the match like a man possessed, taking it to both Assassins. After holding his own for the first few minutes eventually Lane falls prey to a cheap shot from behind by Assassin #2 while Assassin #1 was keeping his attention. The Assassins then worked over Lane in their corner for a long time without being able to put him away. Keirn, having recovered his wits about him, gets the crowd behind Stan Lane while out on the apron. Finally Stan Lane is able to make it to his corner for the tag and Steve Keirn comes in a house of fire! He hits a Flying Forearm on Assassin #2 and goes for the cover but Assassin #1 breaks it up! Keirn keeps beating on Assassin #2 but every time he tries for a cover, Assassin #1 is in to break it up. Keirn bounces off the ropes to try a second Flying Forearm but Assassin #1 knees him in the back which puts Keirn down on the mat and allows Assassin #2 to tag out. #1 comes in and works on Steve Keirn for a bit before missing an elbow drop which allows Keirn the time to tag back out to Stan Lane as Assassin #1 makes the tag to #2. All 4 men end up in the ring as Keirn and Assassin #1 fight in one corner and Lane & Assassin #2 fight in the other. The Assassins go to whip The Fabs into each other in the middle of the ring but The Fabs reverse it and The Assassins go crashing into each other! Lane pulls Assassin #2 up and hits a Russian Legsweep with a floatover on him for the 3 count while Keirn guards the pin from a breakup by Assassin #1. Winners: The Fabulous Ones in 15:44 after Stan Lane pinned Assassin #2 after a Russian Legsweep Eddie Gilbert vs. Charlie Cook - These two start at each other as soon as the bell rings and a brawl breaks out that the bigger, stronger Charlie Cook gets the better of. Cook sends Gilbert down to the mat with a right hand and then runs into him with a shoulder block that sends him down to the mat as Gilbert gets back up. Cook starts trash talking him and the crowd "This boy thinks he's a man? I'm gonna show him what a real man is!" Cook picks Gilbert up and body slams him down HARD to the mat. Cook picks him up and goes for another body slam but this time Gilbert pulls him into a small package for a 2 count that was very close to a 3. Cook gets up ticked off and blasts Gilbert with a clothesline. Cook picks Gilbert up and tosses him out of the ring and continues to trash talk him, calling him a boy in a man's world. Gilbert gets up on the apron only to get sent back down to the floor with a big open hand slap from Charlie Cook. Cook trash talks some more while Gilbert is outside the ring, saying he's gonna put Eddie over his knee once this match is over. Gilbert gets back up on the apron and this time he ducks a Charlie Cook right hand and drives his shoulder into Cook's midsection and then vaults over him with a sunset flip that almost puts Cook away! Cook starts hammering on Gilbert again as he tries to get back up from the sunset flip and whips him into the corner. Cook goes charging in after Gilbert but ends up eating a boot! Cook staggers back and Gilbert comes at him with a series of right hands that rock the big former pro football player and send him down to the mat. Eddie Gilbert tries to get up to the top rope before Cook is back up to his feet but Cook is up too fast and he slams Gilbert down off the top rope. Charlie Cook gets down in the 3 point stance as Gilbert starts making his way back up to his feet but Gilbert vaults over him as he comes charging in and tries to sunset flip him again! The referee counts to 4 before Cook tosses Gilbert down to the mat. Charlie Cook again gets down in the 3 point stance as Gilbert is getting up and this time he connects with the football tackle and pins Gilbert for the count of 3. Cook takes the referee's belt and starts whipping Eddie Gilbert with it! Charlie Cook really lays in the shots and the welts start immediately forming on Eddie's back as Cook goes to town on him with the belt. Jack Howe tries to stop Charlie Cook but he gets shoved down again! Jimmy Doo and The Masked Wildfire run out and try to to help Eddie Gilbert but they get blasted by Charlie Cook who has wrapped the belt around his fist! Jack Howe gets shoved down again as he tries to put a stop to it and finally Mike Jackson, Roy Lee Welch & Ron Starr run out and chase Charlie Cook out of the ring. As Charlie Cook is heading to the locker room, referee Jack Howe talks to the time keeper and ring announcer and it's announced that due to Charlie Cook's actions after the match, the referee has reversed the decision! Winner: Eddie Gilbert by reversed decision AWA Southwest Tag Team Titles: El Gran Apollo & Jose Lothario vs. Texas Dynasty © - Jose & Tully start the match and Tully continues to stall and back away from Jose, continually calling for Jose to tag out to El Gran Apollo. David gets in on it, taunting Jose from the apron about how he knocked him out on TV with one punch. Finally Jose gets tired of playing the game and looks to the crowd to see if they want Apollo in. The crowd gives it's approval so Jose just decides to tag out to Apollo. Apollo comes in and Tully offers a handshake but Apollo is having none of that and slaps his hand away. Apollo tries to lock up but Tully instead puts a knee into his gut and tries to drag him over to the Dynasty's corner but instead Apollo uses his strength advantage to pull Tully into HIS corner where Jose tags himself in and BLASTS Tully with a right hand. Tully rolls out of the ring and Sunshine consoles him while David complains to the referee about a closed fist and says it should be a DQ. Tully again starts calling for Jose to get out and let Apollo come in but Jose just keeps challenging him to get back in. Tully rolls under the bottom rope to break the count but then rolls right back out again. David comes in and cheap shots Jose from behind while he's focused on Tully outside the ring and the referee gets distracted by Apollo trying to come in to help which allows Tully & David to double team Jose! David puts Jose's neck on the middle rope and drives his knee in Jose's back while Tully pulls down on his head, choking him. The referee finally turns around and starts trying to get David out of the ring which allows Sunshine to slap Jose across the face without the referee seeing it! Tully comes back in the ring and tries to grab a hold of Jose's arm but Jose slips out of his grasp and blasts him with an uppercut that sends Tully sprawling backwards into his corner. Jose almost makes the mistake of following him into the corner but thinks better of it and waits. Tully again starts complaining about Jose and tries to get him to tag out to Apollo but Jose is fired up and wants to fight so Tully makes the tag out to David. David starts mocking Jose again about knocking him out and Jose gets ticked off and rushes into the Dynasty's corner! David & Tully both start pounding on him but Jose fires back at them and knocks Tully off the apron with a right hand and then puts David on his ass with an uppercut. David rolls out and The Dynasty have a strategy session while Sunshine complains to the referee about Jose's closed fists. David gets back in at the count of 8 and starts back on Jose about tagging out to Apollo. Jose looks to the crowd and they approve so Jose tags out again to El Gran Apollo. Apollo comes in and David tries to leg dive him but Apollo sprawls out and they do some amateur wrestling on the mat with Apollo getting the better of it and riding David down onto the mat. Apollo puts a headlock on David and then makes a quick tag back out to Jose who comes in and blasts David with a right hand while David's trapped in the headlock. David goes down and Jose tries to grab him but David quickly rolls away and scrambles back into his corner. David & Tully try to goad Jose back into their corner again but Jose keeps challenging them to come into the center of the ring. Tully gets in Jose's face and points at Sunshine and then tries to slap Jose himself but Jose blocks it and puts Tully on his ass with another punch. Tully tries to roll away again but this time Jose grabs him and pulls him up. Jose holds Tully's arms from behind and then makes his way into the corner to allow El Gran Apollo to tag himself in. Khan gets on top of Duggan and starts driving the cast covered thumb down into Duggan's shoulder in a modified nerve hold as the crowd starts chanting "Duggan, Duggan." Khan gets freaked out by the chants and picks Duggan up and body slams him down on the concrete floor of the HemisFair arena. Killer Khan backs off of Duggan and raises the cast covered thumb into the air, signaling for the Death Blow as the crowd starts to scream for Duggan to look out. Duggan is up to his knees and sees Khan coming in and meets him with a giant Spear! Both men are down on the floor as the crowd keeps chanting for Duggan to get up. They both get to their feet at the same time and Khan sends a chop at Duggan's head and Duggan responds with a big right hand. goc
I really had a hard time figuring out just what stipulation to run in that match, luckily this board is awesome and I saw some stuff in the yearbook section about a Coward Waves the Flag match from Memphis and that fit a lot better for me than another Texas Death Match or a Cage match. Death Rides A Horse...this time right out of Texas.

goc
Taped at The Junction in San Antonio, TX on 8/22Southwest Championship Wrestling airing on Saturday 8/27 in local markets Steve Stack: Welcome to another edition of Southwest Championship Wrestling! If you weren't at the HemisFair Arena last Sunday night then you missed one of the biggest nights of wrestling action that San Antonio and the entire state of Texas has ever seen! We saw 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan defeat Killer Khan who hasn't been seen or heard from since Sunday night, The Fabulous Ones defeated The Assassins to secure their AWA World Tag Team Title shot this Sunday night against the Wild Bills, we saw a controversial decision rendered in the Eddie Gilbert/Charlie Cook match that we will talk about more later in the hour but we also saw something else that personally upset me and I asked for time right here on the opening of the show to talk about it. I'd like to bring in Jose Lothario right now and talk to him about why he attacked his partner El Gran Apollo and busted him open by slamming his head into the steel ring post. Jose Lothario comes into the interview areaSteve Stack: Jose thank you for coming out here. Now you have been a legend in the state of Texas for many years, there are fans all across the Southwest area who look up to you as a hero and were incredibly disappointed by what happened in the match with you and El Gran Apollo. We have a video taped interview from El Gran Apollo that we are going to show later in the hour but Apollo didn't even want to come on television today he was so distraught by what took place and apparently he has already left the state of Texas and gone back to Puerto Rico. Can you explain to the people just what happened between you and Apollo last Sunday night? Jose Lothario: Really Steve Stack there is not a lot of explaining to do. El Gran Apollo came in the ring and hit me and I got angry and I hit him back. Then I tried to calm down and accept that he made a mistake when he jumped me and started beating on me and knocked me out of the ring. Then when he came out after me I only defended myself and ran his head into the ring post. Steve Stack: Jose I....Jose I don't want to say you're not telling the truth but that is not at all how things happened. We have the video to play later in the hour and Jose Lothario: I don't care about the video! I know what happened. El Gran Apollo got what he deserved not just for last Sunday night but for how he has been trying to steal the spotlight from me this whole time. I bring this kid in here and try to help make him a champion but all he wants to do is try to show me up, try to steal my fans and upstage me. Well he didn't upstage me Sunday night when he was bleeding all over the floor of the HemisFair Arena! But I don't just blame Apollo, I blame these people for giving him a big head, cheering him like he's some kind rock star just because he has a nice body and a pretty face! Steve Stack: Jose this isn't like you at all you can't mean the things you are saying! Jose Lothario: I mean all of it! I used to be able to believe in my people, to know that they had my back and they were behind me. And then they start cheering this young upstart from Cuba, this punk kid who doesn't know anything about our way of life, he doesn't know anything about what it is like to come here from Mexico and try to make a living in the United States! He's had everything handed to him by promoters while I had to fight for everything and the people want to cheer him more than me?! They think that a Cuban can be the hero of the Mexican people? Well it's not going to happen! Because he is gone! And next week I will have a real hero here, a real Mexican hero to groom, someone who will listen to me and do things the right way. Next week I will introduce these people to a man from Mexico who is truly worthy of being my protege and they can go ahead and forget the name El Gran Apollo! -Jose walks off the interview set Steve Stack: Fans...I'm sorry but I don't even know what to say after that. I am truly saddened by the things I just heard. Please let's just take our first break. -First Commercial Break- Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and right now I have with me a man who made his debut at the HemisFair Arena last Sunday night and is getting ready to head to the ring to face Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie in the first round of the Southwest TV Title tournament, Ron Starr! Ron I know you're fired up for your match here today but I'd like to get a quick word from you about why you've made your way here to the Southwest area. Ron Starr: I've got a bit of a reputation of not staying in one place too long and being a bit of a drifter in this crazy world of professional wrestling. I heard that this area was catching fire and had some of the toughest competition in professional wrestling. So I called up the offices of Southwest Championship Wrestling and told them I wanted to come in and they immediately offered me a chance to compete in this tournament for the TV Title so I knew there was no turning back and I made my way here to Texas for the first time in my career. Steve Stack: We saw you defeat The Turk, Ali Bey in a pretty dominating fashion last Sunday night but afterwards you were attacked by your opponent here today Sheik Adnan. What are your thoughts about your debut and Sheik Adnan? Ron Starr: Well I thought that Ali Bey was a tough competitor but I've been in the ring with plenty of tough wrestlers and I'm not afraid to use rough tactics back if that's what I get faced with. So I was able to take down the Turk but then I got jumped from behind by that no good coward Sheik Adnan. Now I've never run into this man before in my career but I am guessing he thought he'd try and wear me out a bit and make things easier for himself in our tournament matchup today. But things didn't quite work out for him because he was the one who got sent running from the ring while I called him back to fight some more! There isn't going to be any running now though, I'm about to head down to that ring to beat his brains in and move on to the 2nd round of the Southwest TV Title tournament! Steve Stack: Well fans you just got your first introduction to Ron Starr and now let's head down to the ring where he's going to be in action against Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie! Ron Starr vs. Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie - Southwest TV Title Tournament Match Ron Starr enters the ring where Sheik Adnan is already waiting and Adnan immediately attacks him as he's coming through the ropes. The referee has no choice but to go ahead and ring the bell to start the match and Adnan is all over Starr, pounding and kicking at him. Adnan tries to whip Starr into the ropes but Starr doesn't budge! Instead he pulls Adnan into a short arm clothesline and that puts Kaissie down on the mat! As he's trying to get back up Ron Starr comes running in with a big knee lift that snaps Adnan back down to the canvas! Ron Starr makes the cover for the count of 3 and the crowd in the Junction go wild as Ron Starr is declared the winner! Steve Stack: Wow! What an incredibly fast win by Ron Starr who just tore right through Sheik Adnan! We have a lot of time left in this segment now and no stand by match so I will take this time to talk about the big matches taking place this Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena! Obviously the big main event is The Fabulous Ones getting an AWA World Tag Team Title shot against a team they've had quite a bit of history with over the past 2 months, The Wild Bills and -Suddenly Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie comes in the interview area shouting and raving Sheik Adnan: He can not do this to me! He can not humiliate me like this! That was a fast count! The referee was biased against me! He is man without integrity like every other American in this country! He doesn't want me to become a champion here and establish myself as a citizen of Texas so that I can buy all the oil field in this state! Well he can not stop me! No one will stop me! I will get revenge for my people, we will cut off the flow of oil to this country and bring it to it's knees! I have the backing of the President of Iraq, Saddam Hussein! I have the backing of Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the King of Saudi Arabia, the support of all the OPEC Nations and - 'Hacksaw Jim Duggan comes into the area and grabs the microphone away from Sheik Adnan! Duggan: I've heard all of this I can take! I'm sick of hearing you run down my country and make your threats! You can come out here and talk tough all you want but you aren't fooling any of these people because we all know you're weak and we know you can't back up any of it in that ring! Sheik Adnan: Who is this peasant to come out here and interrupt me!? I have enough money to buy and sell everyone in your family a thousand times over you big stupid ugly worthless Ameri- Duggan: You say one more word and I'm gonna knock you out! You think your money makes you tough but it doesn't mean anything in that ring! I could beat a chump like you with one hand tied behind my back! Sheik Adnan: You are a typical American: a liar! You could never do what you have just said! No American could ever beat me with one arm tied behind his back, it is an insult to even think it! Duggan: Put your money where your mouth is then tough guy! I can do it and I will if you have the guts to try it! Sheik Adnan: Oh I will put more than my money on the line. I know you are too much of a coward to ever sign a contract for a match like that, I will force you to do it! Because I know that if I offer to leave the state of Texas if you beat me with one arm tied behind your back you will never be able to refuse. Duggan: I'm not afraid of you and I'm gonna send you right out of Texas just like I did Killer Khan, only with a chump like you I'm only gonna need one hand. Sheik Adnan: Ok Jim Duggan you are so sure of yourself, so full of false pride like this whole country. I will have a contract made up that we will wrestle this Sunday night, you with one arm tied behind your back and if I lose then I will be barred from even entering the state of Texas for one year. But if you lose then you must suffer the same fate, you will be gone from Texas for one year and when you come back this state will belong to ME! Duggan: I already got one arm tied behind my back for this match, I'm not gonna agree to leave Texas if I lose, I plan to be here a long time. Sheik Adnan: You see that! This man is a liar, he knows that he can not beat me he knows that he will lose, that I will humiliate him and Duggan: Shut up! If that's what it's gonna take to shut your mouth then fine! You get the contract made up and I'll sign it. Because it doesn't make any difference all I need is one fist to knock your lights out! Sheik Adnan: You are a fool Jim Duggan! You have just made the biggest mistake of your career! Say goodbye to this peasant because this is the last time you will see him on this TV show! Hahaha -Sheik Adnan walks away laughing Steve Stack: Jim, I'm not one to question your toughness after the way you beat the Monster from Mongolia Killer Khan last Sunday, but are you sure about this? You have to face him with one hand tied behind your back and if you lose you're going to be barred from the state of Texas. Duggan: Steve Stack that's the only way I'm ever going to get a coward like that in a situation where he'll leave. He thinks everything is stacked in his favor but I promise the people one thing: There is nothing he can do to me that is going to break me and I WILL win and get him out of Texas! Steve Stack: Well the stakes couldn't get any higher this Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena! We have to take a time out for our sponsors but don't go anywhere because when we come back we're gonna see the video of what took place last Sunday night between Jose Lothario and El Gran Apollo! -Second Commercial Break- Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! At the top of the hour I had a chance to talk to Jose Lothario about what happened between he and El Gran Apollo last Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena. Now we are going to show you the footage of just what took place and how the tape doesn't exactly match up with what Jose Lothario had to say about the incident. Immediately following that footage we'll also play an interview that I conducted in the locker room of the HemisFair Arena with a very dejected El Gran Apollo an hour after the matches were over and almost everyone else had already left the dressing room area. Video is shown of the match between Jose & El Gran Apollo vs. The Texas Dynasty starting at the point where Jose tagged in El Gran Apollo while holding Tully's arms. El Gran Apollo is shown hitting Jose Lothario by accident, Jose slapping him around and then Apollo finally having enough and retaliating and knocking Jose out of the ring. Then Apollo is kneed in the back by David Von Erich sending him flying through the ropes leading to Jose Lothario grabbing him and slamming his head into the ring post. Then the video cuts to the locker room of the HemisFair Arena where Steve Stack is standing with El Gran Apollo who is sitting on a bench in the locker room with dried blood still on his forehead Steve Stack: I'm standing now in the locker room of the HemisFair Arena after hearing word that El Gran Apollo was still sitting back here in shock, not having even taken a shower to wash the blood off of his face. Apollo can you give us your reaction to what happened in your match tonight? Apollo: I no want to talk about it. Steve Stack: I can tell you're very upset about what happened, I know Jose was like a mentor to you, do you have any plans to try and get revenge against him for what he did to you? Apollo: No. I no want to fight that man. I don't stay here in Texas now. I feel embarrass by what happen to me tonight. Steve Stack: Wait a minute? You're going to leave the area? Apollo: Yes. I can not fight Jose Lothario. It hurt me too much. I was wrestle in Puerto Rico before I come here now I go back there. I thank all the people who cheer for me when I was here but now I go. Steve Stack: Apollo you can't just leave like this, the people here don't want to see you go. Apollo: I sorry Steve. I no have more to say. The video cuts off and the camera goes back to Steve Stack standing in the interview area at The Junction Steve Stack: I have talked to a lot of emotional wrestlers after a lot of tense situations but I have never seen a wrestler look so distraught before in my wrestling career. I heard that El Gran Apollo is already back in Puerto Rico and I would like to wish the young man all the luck in the world because I know he has an incredible career ahead of him and - Suddenly Mil Mascaras walks into the interview area Steve Stack: Whoa! Ladies and gentleman this a surprise not just to you but to me also! Mil Mascaras you weren't scheduled to be here today, what brings you to San Antonio? Mil Mascaras: I came here to talk to a man who has been my friend for many years, Jose Lothario. I heard what happened last Sunday and it did not sound like the man I knew so I only came here to talk to him. I didn't plan to come out here on TV and talk at all, I only wanted to talk to Jose in private. But Jose disrespected me and told me that he didn't care about anything I had to say to him, he told me he didn't do anything wrong and he didn't care what I think. Then I heard what he said about the people, I saw the video of what he did, and I saw that young man who he hurt. Jose Lothario, I don't know what is wrong with you. You are not the man who I know, the man who I have teamed with many times to battle men who have insulted us and insulted our people. And now YOU come out here and insult our people! Well Jose I never thought I would fight you, but that is what I am going to do. I asked for a match with you this Sunday at the HemisFair Arena and if I couldn't talk some sense into you then I will have to try and beat it into you in the ring! Mil Mascaras walks off from the interview area Steve Stack: Wow! That's a match I never thought I would see in my life time! Jose Lothario versus Mil Mascaras this Sunday night! Fans you never know what is going to happen here on Southwest Championship Wrestling! Don't go away because when we come back we are going to talk to Lord Alfred Hayes and see just what happened Sunday night between him, Stan Stasiak and Mike Masters. -Third Commercial Break- Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and standing with me is Lord Alfred Hayes! Lord Alfred, last Sunday night we saw Stan Stasiak come out for his match without you and then saw you and Mike Masters hit the ring and attack him after the match was over. Could you tell us what exactly caused this chain of events? Lord Alfred: Is it really so hard for you to figure out Steven Stack? That idiot Stan Stasiak thought that he would be better off without me at ringside for his match with the detestable Steve Pardee and told me to stay in the locker room. Can you believe that?! A manager with my skill and expertise told to stay away from ringside? And what did he achieve without my guidance? Nothing! He lost to that insufferable youth who is somehow the luckiest man in Texas! A former WWF World Heavyweight Champion reduced to losing to a complete nothing, a nobody in this sport! I refused to allow myself to be besmirched and so after the argument that Stan Stasiak and I had before his match, I was approached by a young man who offered me his services as an agent of revenge. Mike Masters told me that he had been fined for being at ringside during Tiny Anderson's match and asked for my help in attaining a manager's license and in return he would take care of Stan Stasiak for me. And that is exactly what happened. Stan Stasiak suffered severe injuries after the Full Nelson by Mike Masters and he will never be seen in a wrestling ring again. That is the price to be paid for turning your back on me, for besmirching my good name. Steve Stack: So you have not taken over as a manager of Mike Masters then? Lord Alfred: Heavens no! The man is impressive, I don't deny it, but I require a far more refined and experienced competitor to attach myself to. I am going to go off in search of that man and the next time you see me he will be at my side and I will give Southwest Championship Wrestling the champion that I have promised. Cheers. -Lord Alfred leaves the interview area and David Von Erich and Sunshine come in Steve Stack: Now I'd like to welcome David Von Erich and Sunshine to - David Von Erich: The lovely Sunshine! Don't you have any manners Steve Stack? Don't you know how to talk to a lady? Obviously not, just look at your cheap suit you wouldn't know what class was if it bit you. You see this suit I'm wearing? You see that dress Sunshine has on? This is what class looks like Steve, take notes. Steve Stack: Thank you for the lesson David. I'd like to ask you where your partner in the Texas Dynasty is this week, I heard he's not here in The Junction today. David Von Erich: Of course he's not here. Didn't you hear him last week? He told you he was going to go off and defend his Southwest Heavyweight Title around the country since he can't get the respect he deserves around here. Why are The Fabulous Ones just handed a World Tag Team Title shot when WE are the ones with the Southwest Tag Team Titles? Why isn't Hulk Hogan here defending the AWA World Title against Tully Blanchard, the Southwest Heavyweight Champion? Because Stanley Blackburn knows we would just add those belts to the collection we already have now. Steve Stack: So Tully's absence here today has nothing to do with the fact that his bodyguard Killer Khan seems to have left the state of Texas after losing his Coward's Way Out match against Jim Duggan? David Von Erich: He doesn't need Killer Khan around! If Killer Khan is too much of a coward to fight Jim Duggan we don't need him around here anymore anyway! He served his purpose, he got rid of the trash that was hanging around Southwest Championship Wrestling and now Jim Duggan let his big mouth get him in trouble and he'll be gone soon too. I don't have any love for Sheik Adnan and the things he's saying about America or the state of Texas but there's no way Jim Duggan is going to be able to beat him with one hand behind his back. Steve Stack: Well lets get back to the discussion about championships, it seems your opponent in the second round of the Southwest Television Tournament, El Gran Apollo, has left the area. That would give you a bye straight to finals. David Von Erich: Don't think I didn't notice that myself Steve Stack. And since Stanley Blackburn couldn't find me and suitable opponent for this Sunday night it looks like Sunshine and I are going to have a week off. We are going to have ourselves a nice little vacation and I am going to show her how a real high class man of Texas treats a lady. If she thought she was living the high life on the arm of Jimmy Garvin, she hasn't seen anything yet. And now Steve Stack, I think it's time to end this interview. I don't like the way you're looking at my woman and if you keep on doing it I might have to knock those googly eyes right out of your head. -David Von Erich & Sunshine leave the interview area Steve Stack: Well we have a little time left before we have to go to our next break so I'd like to take this time to - Suddenly The Assassin comes into the interview area The Assassin: You'd like to take this time to welcome The Assassin out here is what you were about to say isn't it? Yes it was Steve Stack, thank you. You know, I have wrestled in nearly every promotion in the country and I have never been disrespected the way I have here in Southwest Championship Wrestling. First I'm invited here to take place in a tournament and then when I get here I'm threatened with having my place in the tournament taken away from me, then I'm denied a shot at the Southwest Tag Team Titles due to the incompetence of a referee and now I'm told that there is no time for me on the TV show so I have to come out here and make it for myself. You don't mind do you Steve? I didn't think so. But that's not the last insults, that's not the last injustice that has been perpetrated against me and my partner. Now with the World Tag Team Champions coming into the area, we don't get the Southwest Tag Team Title shot that we still deserve, no Tully Blanchard & David Von Erich aren't even going to be in the HemisFair Arena this Sunday. Instead we are given competition, and I use that term very loosely, like The Masked Wildfire and Jimmy Doo. Well that's the last injustice that I am going to stand for. I didn't get the name of The Assassin for nothing. There is a large bounty out in Alabama on a man I have a long history with. And I have resisted the urge to go and collect that bounty for weeks now, but since the promoters of Southwest Championship Wrestling refuse to give me anything worthy of my time, since they are denying me the ability to reach my earning potential as a champion, I am going to go collect that bounty. So you may not see me here for a few weeks after today. But I will be back. And when I come back, I promise that it will be a day of reckoning for everyone who has helped to perpetrate the injustices against The Assassins over the last few weeks. Now you can have your microphone back Steve Stack. -The Assassin leaves the interview area Steve Stack: Almost out of time don't touch that dial when we come back we're gonna talk to Eddie Gilbert! -Fourth Commercial Break- Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! With me now is Eddie Gilbert who was declared the winner of Charlie Cook last Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena but there was quite a bit of controversy surrounding how that all went down. Eddie Gilbert: That's right Steve. I'm not gonna make any excuses about it, Charlie Cook beat me fair and square in the middle of the ring. But then after the match he did something that still makes me sick to my stomach to think about it. Steve Stack: Well let me tell the fans at home exactly what happened. Charlie Cook defeated you after a football tackle but after the match he shoved down referee Jack Howe, took Jack's belt off of him and then proceeded to whip you across your back with that belt and attack anyone who tried to come into the ring to stop him. Eddie Gilbert: That is what happened and if you'll bring the camera in you can still the cuts on my back where he whipped me with that belt. All I ever wanted to do when I came out here to talk to that man last week was try and make peace between him and Ken Lucas. Well now things have gone way beyond that. Charlie Cook you disrespected me, you humiliated and embarrassed me and tried to treat me like I'm less than a man. Well I might be a lot younger than you but I AM A MAN! And I can't allow anyone to do what you did to me and let it stand! I was on the phone with Ken Lucas and he begged me not to come out here and make this challenge but I have no other choice. Charlie Cook I want a rematch with you! I am going to prove to you and everyone who was in the arena last week and everyone watching at home that I AM a man and I do belong in the wrestling business. If I don't beat you Sunday night then I will never be able to show my face in this area again and I will leave Southwest Championship Wrestling! Steve Stack: Well Eddie I'm not doubting you but I don't know how wise this challenge is. Eddie Gilbert: I don't care! Ken Lucas couldn't talk me out of it and neither can you. Charlie Cook I know you think I'm just some punk kid well Sunday night you are gonna find out just how wrong you are. -Eddie Gilbert leaves the interview area Steve Stack: Well fans Charlie Cook wasn't allowed on TV today due to his actions we just talked about but I have to imagine he will absolutely accept that challenge by Eddie Gilbert. I wish that young man all the luck in the world, it would be a shame to lose such a talented young competitor here in the Southwest area but now let's head down to the ring where the number one contenders to the AWA World Tag Team Titles, The Fabulous Ones, are standing in the ring ready for action! The Fabulous Ones vs. Ali Bey & Juan Reynosa The Fabulous Ones make short work of their opponents and finish off Ali Bey after Stan Lane whips The Turk into the ropes and Steve Keirn blasts him with a Flying Forearm. Steve Stack: Another impressive win for Stan Lane & Steve Keirn, The Fabulous Ones! Now I'd like to welcome them over here to interview area and talk to them about their big match this Sunday night against the AWA World Tag Team Champions, The Wild Bills! Stan Lane: We couldn't be happier about who our opponents are this Sunday night. Not just because it means we get a shot at the AWA World Tag Team Titles but because The Wild Bills have a giant butt kicking coming their way after what they did to us a few weeks ago and we've finally got them back down here in Texas to give it to them! Steve Keirn: The Wild Bills thought they were just gonna hit and run, beat us up, bust me open and then run on back to Minnesota where they were safe. Well they aren't gonna be safe Sunday night because I have been thinking about what I would do to them if I ever got my chance for revenge and I can promise you they aren't going to like it! Stan Lane: But while we're out here I'd like to congratulate our good friend 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan for his big win of Killer Khan and getting rid of that big monster from the Southwest area. Tully Blanchard liked to play that song for Killer Khan well Death did ride a horse again last Sunday night, he rode it right out of Texas! Steve Keirn: David could come out here and say all he wants, but we both know that the real reason that he and Tully are trying to avoid this area is because they have a big receipt coming their way from us and now they don't have Killer Khan to hide behind and protect them. You two boys enjoy your little trip away from the Southwest area because when you come back we are going to be the AWA World Tag Team Champions and there won't be any more avoiding us. Steve Stack: Let me wish you two luck this Sunday night, I know everyone here would love to see a team from this area win the AWA World Tag Team Titles. Now we have to take one more time out and when we come back we'll have our main event, the last match in the first round of the Southwest TV Title tournament: Eddy Mansfield vs. Roy Lee Welch! -Fifth and final commercial break- Steve Stack:Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! Before we get to our main event of Roy Lee Welch taking on Eddy Mansfield I'd like to talk to Roy about the interview I conducted with he and Robert Fuller from the locker room of the HemisFair Arena. Let's take a look at that video and then you'll have a chance to comment on it Roy. Video plays of Robert Fuller & Roy Lee Welch arguing in the locker room of the HemisFair Arena Robert Fuller: You told me we were going to be rasslin the Southwest Tag Team Champions! And then I get here and we're rasslin two skinny goofs who probably never won a match in their lives! Roy Lee Welch: I tried to get us a match with The Texas Dynasty but - Robert Fuller: I don't want to hear any excuses! I should have listened to cousin Jimmy when he told me not to come down here to Texas and waste my time with ya! Roy you ain't never been a champion and you ain't never gonna be a champion! You are an embarrassment to our whole family and I hope you stay down here in Texas and don't ever come back to Alabama to tarnish our family name! Roy Lee Welch: Robert I know you're mad at me right now but you don't mean that! Robert! Where are you going!? -Robert Fuller walks off and the camera watches him leave out of the arena and the video cuts off and goes back to Steve Stack & Roy Lee Welch standing at The Junction Steve Stack: I'm sorry we had to air your family business like that on TV Roy but I know the people who were in the HemisFair Arena wanted to know just what was wrong with you and Robert last Sunday night. Roy Lee Welch: Our family has always been a bit tumultuous Steve, but I know Robert is going to eventually calm down. And I'm not finished trying to get us a shot at the Southwest Tag Team Titles either. I think when Tully comes back to the area that Robert and I should be the first in line for a title shot at he and David Von Erich and if I can just get the contract I know Robert will come back and team with me. Steve Stack: Well I wish you luck in getting that match and patching things up with your cousin Robert. But on to today's business, you have a match today in the Southwest TV Title tournament against a man you've had some problems with in the past, Eddy Mansfield. What are your thoughts on the tournament and your opponent today? Roy Lee Welch: This is a big match for me today, this is an opportunity for me to prove to my family that I CAN be a champion by being the first ever Southwest Television Champion. And this match right here on TV today gives me a chance to beat Eddy Mansfield in front of everybody and prove that he was wrong when he called me the weak link of our team. Steve Stack: Well it's time to get the match under way Roy, thank you for comments. Now ladies and gentleman let's get down to the ring for our main event and the last match in round one of the Southwest Television Title tournament! Roy Lee Welch vs. Eddy Mansfield - Southwest TV Title Tournament Match These two had a back and forth match for about 6 minutes when Eddy Mansfield whipped Roy Lee Welch into the corner and Welch jumped off the 2nd turnbuckle and turned around into a crossbody on the incoming Eddy Mansfield. Mansfield however side stepped it and Roy Lee Welch collided with referee Jack Howe! While Roy was helping the referee back to his feet, Eddy Mansfield pulled out a chain and wrapped it around his fist! As Roy turned back around he got knocked out by a chain assisted punch and collapsed, leaving Mansfield to cover him and a disheveled Jack Howe made the 3 count. Steve Stack: What a disappointing way for that match to end! Ladies and gentleman we're all out of time! Join us next week when we'll see Ron Starr vs. Eddy Mansfield in the semi-finals of the Southwest TV Title tournament and make sure to be at the HemisFair Arena this Sunday night to see The Fabulous Ones take on the AWA World Tag Team Champions The Wild Bills, Jim Duggan with one arm tied behind his back against Sheik Adnan with the loser barred from Texas for one year, Mil Mascaras versus Jose Lothario, Eddie Gilbert in a rematch against Charlie Cook and lots more great action! So long everybody!

dawho5
Good setup on the Duggan vs. Kaissie angle. I like how the angles flow together after the blowoff matches. That's something I have n't been able to do much with yet because I am going more long term with my feuds.

dawho5
Stan needs to keep his head on straight instead of going after the manager. I like how you progressed the Mansfield/Welch feud with all the Fuller stuff still going on and transitioned right back to it. Duggan overcoming Kaissie's cheating right after dispatching Khan is a nice way to set him up as a big deal off the bat.
goc
The whole idea behind building Killer Khan up to be such a monster was to give Duggan an immediate impact by being the guy who could slay the dragon that no one else could. Now I have Duggan as a top guy and everyone on the roster is fresh for him as an opponent. Ideally I would have liked to stretch out Khan/Duggan another week but Khan left for Japan like 2 days too early for me to be able to use him on this HemisFair show. goc
Taped at The Junction in San Antonio, TX on 8/29Southwest Championship Wrestling airing on Saturday 9/3 in local markets-Show intro- Steve Stack: Welcome to another edition of Southwest Championship Wrestling! We have an exciting hour of action in store today where we'll see the semi final match in the Southwest TV Title tournament with Ron Starr facing off against Eddy Mansfield, we'll also see Charlie Cook take on Eddie Gilbert in our main event with Charlie Cook demanding a rematch and vowing to leave the area if he doesn't win the match. We'll also be talking about some of the fallout from last Sunday night's HemisFair Arena card that saw Jim Duggan banish Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie from Texas for one year, Mil Mascaras defeat Jose Lothario by disqualification and The Wild Bills retain the AWA World Tag Team Titles in controversial fashion. In fact right now I'm going to bring in the President of the AWA, Stanley Blackburn to talk about that match and the repercussions. -Stanley Blackburn comes into the interview area Stanley Blackburn: Last Sunday night the AWA World Tag Team Champions retained their titles over The Fabulous Ones after interference from their manager Colonel Buck Robley. In light of this I have decided that The Wild Bills must return to Texas this Sunday night and defend their titles again this time with Buck Robley barred from ringside! The AWA takes the integrity of it's titles very seriously and does not want to see the titles retained in this fashion. However, due to the very busy schedule of The Wild Bills, if The Fabulous Ones do not win the titles this Sunday night there will be no immediate rematch granted and the Southwest Tag Team Champions will be considered the number one contenders to the World Titles going forward. Steve Stack: Well fans you just heard from the President of the AWA, this Sunday night there will be a rematch between The Fabulous Ones and The Wild Bills! You're gonna want to make sure you're at The HemisFair Arena because without Buck Robley at ringside we could very well see new World Tag Team Champions crowned! Speaking of new champions crowned, don't go away because immediately following this break we will see Ron Starr and Eddy Mansfield square off to decide who will face David Von Erich next week in the finals of the Southwest Television Title tournament! -First Commercial Break- vs. Eddy Mansfield vs. Ron Starr - Semifinal Southwest TV Title Tourmament match - Ron Starr started off the match outwrestling Eddy Mansfield until Mansfield took the advantage by raking the eyes. Mansfield took over with some punches, kicks & choking Starr on the ropes and then put Starr into a chinlock. Starr fought his way out of the chinlock and got separation from The Continental Lover with some elbows to the midsection and then hit a big shoulder block that sent Mansfield through the ropes to the outside. The referee kept Starr from following him out and while the referee's back was turned, Mansfield pulled out a chain and wrapped it around his fist. Eddy Mansfield got up on the apron started to come through the ropes but Starr caught him coming in with a big running knee lift and hooked the leg closest to the ropes to keep Mansfield from putting it outside the ring! Juan Reynosa made the count of 3 and Ron Starr was declared the winner! Eddy Mansfield got back up with the chain still wrapped around his fist and swung at Starr but Starr ducked it and hit an atomic drop on Eddy Mansfield that sent him flying over the top rope! Starr watched Mansfield getting back up on the outside and challenged him to get back in the ring. Mansfield looked like he was about to get back in when suddenly he got a frightened look on his face and ran back to the locker room! The crowd in The Junction started screaming for Ron Starr to turn around and when he did he was suddenly standing face to face with the nearly 400 pound Madman From Sudan, Abdullah the Butcher! Abdullah immediately spiked Ron Starr in the head with a fork he came carrying into the ring with him and started carving his forehead up! Referee Juan Reynosa tried to pull the fork away from Abdullah and received a stabbing of his own in response! Ron Starr got up bleeding and tried to battle back against the nearly 400 pounder but was quickly overwhelmed and sent back down to the mat! Abdullah bounced off the ropes and came down on Ron Starr's ribs with a huge elbowdrop! Jimmy Doo and Mike Jackson ran down to the ring to try and get Ron Starr out but they only received stabs to the forehead for their trouble! Abdullah dropped 3 more big elbows on the ribs of Ron Starr before finally Jim Duggan ran out to the ring! Abdullah tried to stab Duggan with the fork but Duggan grabbed Abby's arm and then blasted him with a big punch that sent the Madman from Sudan reeling! Duggan then hit him with a big clothesline that sent the big man out through the ropes and then Duggan held his ground and Abdullah the Butcher decided he'd had enough and disappeared out the back door of The Junction while Duggan tended to Ron Starr in the ring. Steve Stack: Fans I don't know what just happened! Abdullah the Butcher seemed to appear out of nowhere and just brutalized Ron Starr! I don't know what the reason is, why would Abdullah the Butcher come here to Southwest Championship Wrestling to attack Ron Starr? We have to take a break while we get some help out here to get Ron Starr out of the ring! Second Commercial BreakSteve Stack: Standing with me once again is the President of the AWA, Stanley Blackburn who has something he wants to say about the attack on Ron Starr at the hands of Abdullah the Butcher! Stanley Blackburn: First of all I want to apologize to the people at home who had to see that disgusting display! Those types of actions are ones that I don't want to have associated with the AWA or Southwest Championship Wrestling! Attacking a man with a fork and carving up his forehead has nothing to do with the sport of professional wrestling! And because of those actions I want to state right now that regardless of whether Ron Starr or anyone else wants to get revenge on Abdullah the Butcher inside the ring for what just took place, I will NOT sanction Abdullah the Butcher to wrestle under the AWA banner! From here on out, Abdullah the Butcher is barred from ALL AWA sanctioned events! Maybe this brutality is accepted in Japan or other parts of the United States where he wrestles but it will NOT be tolerated under my watch! -Stanley Blackburn leaves the set Steve Stack: Well fans that may be the first and last time we ever see Abdullah the Butcher here on Southwest Championship Wrestling and I can't say I would be sad if that turned out to be the case! Now I have scheduled to come out here Jose Lothario and his new protege, who I am assuming is the man we saw interfere in his match last Sunday night against Mil Mascaras. Steve Stack: What in the world is this?! Jose we saw this man come out wearing a mask last Sunday night, but nothing like this ridiculous costume. Jose Lothario: What is ridiculous about it Steve Stack!? Do you think the Mexican flag is ridiculous? The flag of my people is ridiculous to you? Steve Stack: No, of course not! But Jose this is a little over the top don't you think? Jose Lothario: What is over the top about it? You don't insult Mil Mascaras for his masks or colorful outfits do you? This man has pride in his country, pride for his people and he wanted to wear the colors of Mexico. What business is it of yours what he choose to wear? Steve Stack: Well let's get off the subject of fashion if it's going to cause us to argue. Why did this man come out and interfere in your match with Mil Mascaras last Sunday night? Jose Lothario: There you go again with your pro-Mascaras bias. He did not interfere as you called it, he came out to save me from a man who was blatantly cheating throughout the whole match! Steve Stack: Mil Mascaras spent the whole match wrestling, I didn't see him cheating while you were the one who kept trying to even things up with your fists. Jose Lothario: Steve I think it's time for you to get glasses. Or to just admit you're the leader of the Mil Mascaras fan club. The man was cheating, pulling my tights every chance he got, that was the only way he kept grounding me that way. Steve Stack: Well let's get back to your protege here. What exactly is his name? Jose Lothario: Why are you asking me? Why do you just assume that the man is incapable of speaking English? Because he's from Mexico City? Because he chooses to wear the colors of my people? Ask him yourself what is name is! Steve Stack: Ok, well I have Rapido Rodriguez here to do any translating necessary for me. Sir, what is your name and why have you chosen to wear that outfit? Mr Mexico: Why do you assume that I can't speak English Steve Stack? I have chosen to wear this outfit and take the wrestling name of Mr. Mexico, not Senor MeHico by the way, because of the great pride I have in my country and to be the role model that these people need. I saw the way the fans were turning their back on these great legend from my country in favor of some young punk from Cuba and I chose to make it as obvious as I could to these people who their heroes really are. Steve Stack: I have to say, I have spoken to a great many wrestlers from Mexico and from South America in my career here in Texas and you speak English better than almost any that I can recall. Mr. Mexico: That's one of the reasons I was chosen by Jose Lothario to be his protege! Because these people need a role model that will teach them that true success in this country comes from fully integrating, learning the language and putting their espanol behind them. I spent many years learning the great language of this country and I hope that I can serve as an example of the people watching today who need this man to translate my words that they can do it too. Steve Stack: But you have almost no accent whatsoever, you're sure you were born and raised in Mexico city? Jose Lothario: Are you calling us liars?! Steve Stack I think this interview is over! Come on, Mr. Mexico I think we've indulged this fool all we need to. Since you are determined to undermine our message we will just have to let our actions in the ring speak for themselves this Sunday night when we defeat Mil Mascaras and whoever his partner is and prove to the people that WE are the true heroes of the Mexican-American people! Steve Stack: I don't want to call anyone a liar, especially a man I've respected so much over the years like Jose Lothario but something just doesn't seem right about this situation. Let's send it down to the ring now where we have Roy Lee Welch in action against Mike Fever. Mike Fever vs. Roy Lee Welch - Roy Lee Welch made short work of the newcomer Mike Fever and after dominating him on the mat, forced him to submit to the Spinning Toehold. Steve Stack: An impressive victory by Roy Lee Welch who will be in action this Sunday night in a rematch against Eddy Mansfield after their double countout draw last week. We have to take a break now but when we come back we'll hear from Mil Mascaras himself about Jose Lothario and his new protege and his tag match against them this Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena. -Third Commercial Break- Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! I have with me now Mil Mascaras and Mil, I'm sure you heard the comments from Jose Lothario and Mr. Mexico, I'd like to hear your thoughts about what they said and your tag team match against them this Sunday night. Mil Mascaras: Steve Stack you were right when you called that man's outfit ridiculous. And I agree with you, I don't think he is from Mexico at all. So this Sunday night my goal is to rip that mask off of him and expose him for the fraud that he is. But as for what Jose had to say, it's an insult to these people to tell them that they can only cheer Spanish speaking wrestlers if they come from Mexico. There have been great wrestler who have come from all over the Caribbean and South America. Carlos Colos, Hurrican Castillo, Pedro Morales are all great wrestlers from Puerto Rico. Then you have Cyclone Negro from Venezuela who is a legend in Texas and held many championships all over this state. To say that the people are traitors for cheering a man from Cuba is an insult to the fans and that's why I have chosen for my partner another wrestler from Venezuela just like Cyclone Negro. My partner this Sunday night is Omar Atlas a very tough man and we are going to beat some sense back into Jose Lothario's head and hopefully take that mask of Mr. Not From Mexico. -Mil Mascaras leaves the interview set and Mike Masters & Tiny Anderson enter while Steve Stack is still talking Steve Stack: Well fans there you have it, this Sunday night it's going to be Mil Mascaras teaming with Venezuelan Omar Atlas to take on the team of Jose Lothario & Mr. Mexico. Now I'd like to bring in Mike Masters and HIS protege, Tiny Anderson. & Mike Masters: Why did you have to schedule my time after his? I can still smell his bean breath out here and - Steve Stack: You've been warned about this before! I'll cut this interview off right now and we'll go to the video we have of David Von Erich if you're going to start with this stuff! Mike Masters: Alright alright, calm down! You're the one who asked me for an interview so why don't you just ask me what you want to ask me? Steve Stack: First of all I wanted to know what kind of training regimen you have this man on because it's been almost 2 months now that he's been training with you and he looks like he's not spent one hour in the gym. Mike Masters: Don't you try and steal my secrets! I'm not going to tell you or anyone else my proprietary secrets, if you want to know how I train then you can pay me to take you to the gym and show you. As for why Tiny Anderson hasn't started to show results yet, I'm not quite sure. I'll admit he isn't the most eager person to get up in the morning and go to the gym but he's there with me every day. While I'm there pumping iron to create this magnificent body you see in front of you, I have Tiny Anderson on the treadmill and the exercise bike. I can't watch him every minute we're in the gym together but when I go check on him he's sweaty and out of breath so really the only answers I have is that it's just taking longer than I thought it would. -While Mike Masters was talking, Tiny Anderson took a donut out from under his tights and started scarfing it down while Steve Stack stared at him in amazementSteve Stack: And just what kind of dietary changes have you forced him to make? Is he supposed to on any kind of special diet? -Tiny Anderson shoots Steve Stack a pleading look Mike Masters: Obviously I cut out all sweets, you wouldn't believe how this man was eating before I took him under my wing. Cakes, pies, donuts, candy bars, the amount of garbage this man put in his body was astounding. But now he's all about eggs, chicken breasts, tuna, good protein and no more of that junk he used to shovel into his mouth. Steve Stack: Well we're almost out of time, but I'd like to ask you about Tiny's upcoming rematch with Mike Jackson this Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena and your match against Steve Pardee. Mike Masters: Steve Pardee? I made him submit to the Full Nelson last week and I'll do it again Sunday night. Lord Alfred Hayes might not have been able to find anyone who could get the job done against him but there's nobody alive who can break out of the Full Nelson once I cinch it in and Steve Pardee is no exception. Now as for Mike Jackson, I'm getting tired of that chump trying to embarass me and Tiny Anderson. Everyone knows Mike Jackson is a loser and if Tiny Anderson can't beat him that makes him an even bigger loser. And Mike Masters does NOT associate with losers, you hear me Tiny Anderson? I'm gonna be at ringside for this rematch now that I have my manager's license and if you don't win this rematch against Mike Jackson you are going to have a lot more to worry about than that chump, do you understand? Don't you put that microphone in his face Steve Stack! He understands and if he doesn't understand I'm gonna make him. Steve Stack: Fans don't go away when we come back we're going to take to The Fabulous Ones and Jim Duggan about their matches this Sunday night at The HemisFair Arena against The Wild Bills and Colonel Buck Robley! -Fourth Commercial Break- Steve Stack: Before I bring out The Fabulous Ones & Jim Duggan, we received this video from David Von Erich that he asked us to play showing he and Sunshine on their vacation together. Let's take a look at it now. David Von Erich: The lovely Sunshine and I are out here laying in the sand on Padre Island this week, enjoying the sun and the waves one last time before summer is over. But just because we are out here relaxing now doesn't mean I'm not ready for the finals of the Southwest TV Title Tournament next week, this is just the calm before the storm. It doesn't matter if it's Eddy Mansfield or Ron Starr that I have to face, I'm going to be adding that belt to the collection of The Texas Dynasty. But enough about that this my time to relax with my lady and make sure she is treated to all the finer things in life like she deserves. The days of her doing Jimmy Garvin's hair or giving him pedicures are over! Now she is the one who is getting pampered, she goes to the finest salons in Texas, I buy her the most elegant dresses, take her to the nicest restaurants because that's what a real man with class does for his woman. Guys like Jim Duggan and The Fabulous Ones probably take their women out to a dirty steakhouse and think that's fine dining. Well nothing is too good for Sunshine and when you're at the very top of the profession the way that The Texas Dynasty are you can spare no expense. Sunshine, tell the people at home just what it's like to live in the lap of luxury. Sunshine: I've never been with a man that treats me the way David Von Erich does. I don't even think he's ever even told me the word no. When I was with Jimmy Garvin it was all about him, what he wanted, what he needed, he treated me almost like I was his slave. But David Von Erich has shown me a whole new world, a world that revolves around me and I've never been happier. And I will keep my man happy and make sure that no one steals the Southwest Tag Team Titles from he and Tully or the Southwest TV Title that he is surely going to win next week. David Von Erich: And now I think that's just about all the time we are going to take out of our lovely day here on the beach to talk to you people. Camera man, you make sure you take care of that tape and get it played on TV this week. I don't care if you have to take time away from some chumps like The Fabulous Ones to do it, the people need to see that being part of The Texas Dynasty doesn't just mean being a champion in the ring, it means being a champion in life. Now get out of here and leave us alone. Steve Stack: Well you guys just saw the video from David Von Erich, do you have anything you'd like to say? Steve Keirn: If he can't be bothered to come to work, why should we bother to talk about him? All I have to say about David Von Erich is that when he comes back we're going to add those Southwest Tag Team Titles to our collection to go along with the World Tag Team Titles we are going to win this Sunday night. Steve Stack: Alright, well let's talk about that then. You guys looked like you were about to put The Wild Bills away when their manager Buck Robley interfered in the match. Stan, do you regret allowing yourself to lose your focus on The Wild Bills and go after Robley? Stan Lane: It really wasn't the smartest decision I ever made but I was so angry I wasn't thinking straight. Luckily Stanley Blackburn gave us another shot at the belts and this Sunday there won't be a Buck Robley at ringside and probably won't even be anything left of Buck Robley at all once he meets the Hacksaw. Steve Stack: Jim, we saw you overcome the odds against Sheikh Adnan with one arm tied behind your back and your eyes full of powder do you have any comments about that match or your match this Sunday night against Buck Robley? Duggan: All I want to say about Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie is BYE BYE SHEIK! I told everybody last week that I was gonna get him out of Texas and make him pay for the things he said about my country and that's what I did. As for Buck Robley he's just gonna be a little snack for me while I wait for my next big meal, Tully Blanchard, to come back and hand over his Southwest Title to me! Steve Keirn: Wild Bills, you thought you got lucky making it out of Texas with the AWA World Tag Team Titles last week well your luck is going to run out and after we beat you this Sunday and take the belts we're gonna take those bull ropes and give you a little taste of your own medicine! Steve Stack: We've got to take our last break for the day but don't go away because when we come back we'll see our big main event of Eddie Gilbert taking on Charlie Cook! -Fifth and final Commercial Break- Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! Before we get to our main event, Charlie Cook wanted to say a few words about his challenge to Eddie Gilbert. Charlie Cook: Everyone that's seen me beat on that boy for the last two weeks knows that I am the better man although only one of us is a man to begin with. I beat Eddie Gilbert 2 weeks ago and the referee reversed the decision after I took the ref's belt off and whipped Gilbert like the punk that he is with it. And then last week he had to have his buddy Ken Lucas come out and distract me and allow him to get a cheap roll up on me. Well I'm tired of hearing people say that chump beat me, he's never beat me and never could. That's why if lightning strikes a 3rd time today and he wins this match I will leave Texas and Southwest Championship Wrestling and never show my face around here again! vs. Eddie Gilbert vs. Charlie Cook - Gilbert uses his speed advantage in the early going to engage in a game of cat and mouse, avoiding Charlie Cook's attempts to grab hold of him. Eddie keeps landing forearms and punches and dodging out of the way of Charlie Cook when the former Pittsburgh Steeler tries to retaliate. Cook gets Gilbert backed into the corner and charges at him only for Eddie to vault over him and then blast Cook with a dropkick right under the chin when Cook turns back around. Gilbert climbs up on Charlie Cook and starts raining down punches as the crowd counts along but Cook shoves him off as the crowd gets to 8 and then nearly takes Eddie's head off with a clothesline. Cook starts trash talking Gilbert while stomping on him, calling him a punk and telling him his career is going to end on TV today. Cook picks Eddie up and goes to bodyslam him but Gilbert holds on and pulls Cook into a small package for a count of 2. Charlie Cook is right back up however and smashes Gilbert to the mat with a big shoulder block. Cook comes down with a big fist drop on Gilbert and then picks him up and this time successfully bodyslams him down to the mat. Cook picks him up and bodyslams him two more times and then backs off and sets up in the 3 point stance. Gilbert gets up and Cook comes charging at him but Gilbert dodges out of the way and Cook goes flying shoulder first into the ring post! Eddie Gilbert climbs up to the top rope on the opposite side and as Cook comes back out of the corner holding his shoulder he turns right into a huge Missile Dropkick from Eddie Gilbert! Gilbert quickly makes the cover and referee Jack Howe makes the count of 3!Ken Lucas comes down to ringside and celebrates with Eddie Gilbert as Charlie Cook is only up to one knee in the ring, still holding on to his shoulder. Steve Stack: What a gutsy performance by Eddie Gilbert! I think he just put any doubts about his ability to rest here with that victory over Charlie Cook and now Charlie Cook will have to eat his words and leave Southwest Championship Wrestling! Ladies and gentleman we're all out of time join us next week when hopefully, depending on the injuries of Ron Starr, we'll have the finals to the Southwest TV Title Tournament with Ron Starr taking on David Von Erich! And make sure to get your tickets now for another hot night of action at The HemisFair Arena as we'll see The Wild Bills defend the AWA World Tag Team Titles in a rematch with The Fabulous Ones, Jim Duggan will take on the Colonel Buck Robley, Mil Mascaras will team with Buddy Moreno to take on the team of Jose Lothario and Mr. Mexico and much more! dawho5
Oooh, who is next up for Eddie Gilbert? I'm also intrigued as to who Mr. Mexico is. I do want Tully and David to get their comeuppance, but I have to say I think the Fabs and Duggan are going to have a few more hurdles to get over first. goc
Southwest Championship Wrestling @ San Antonio, TX - The HemisFair Arena 9/4/83 Terry Adonis & Bruiser Costa vs. Masked Wildfire & Jimmy Doo - The Masked Wildfire from Hendersonville, TN started the match with some fire, outmaneuvering Terry Adonis and arm dragging him around the ring but things went downhill once Wildfire made the tag to Jimmy Doo. Terry Adonis & Bruiser Costa looked like a well oiled machine against Doo, keeping him in their corner and working him over, making quick tags in and out and keeping the referee distracted so the man on the apron could choke Jimmy Doo with the tag rope. Bruiser Costa finished off Jimmy Doo with a running senton after bodyslaming him to the mat. Winners: Terry Adonis & Bruiser Costa in 5:42 after a running senton from Bruiser Costa onto Jimmy Doo Tiny Anderson w/Mike Masters vs. Mike Jackson - Mike Masters had Tiny Anderson doing jumping jacks while they waited for Mike Jackson to come down to the ring and then once the bell ring, Tiny Anderson was out of breath and quickly got taken down by Mike Jackson with a headlock takeover. Jackson worked the headlock until Mike Masters jumped up on the apron and Jackson let the headlock go to dropkick Masters down off the apron! Jackson turned back around into a clothesline from Tiny Anderson but Anderson was too out of breath to follow up, as he stood in the ring sucking wind with his hands on his knees. Mike Masters berated Tiny Anderson, telling him to attack but once Tiny turned his attention back to Mike Jackson, Jackson arm dragged him over and put him in an arm bar. Once it became clear that Anderson couldn't work his way out of the hold, Masters jumped up on the apron again and this time Jackson responded by whipping Anderson into the ropes at him and Masters quickly jumped down off the apron to avoid the collision. Anderson bounced off the ropes and then Mike Jackson started to crisscross from the other side but Masters grabbed his foot and tripped him while the referee wasn't looking. Anderson quickly followed up with a splash and pinned Mike Jackson while Masters held Jackson's feet down from the outside. After the match Tiny Anderson looked like he was about to pass out from a lack of oxygen while Mike Jackson tried to tell the referee about the interference of Mike Masters. Winner: Tiny Anderson in 7:13 after interference from Mike Masters Eddie Gilbert & Ken Lucas vs. Ali Bey & Mike Fever - Eddie Gilbert and Ken Lucas looked great in their first match teaming together with Ken Lucas starting the match against Ali Bey and frustrating the Turk then Eddie Gilbert coming in once Ali Bey tagged in Mike Fever. Eddie Gilbert finished off Mike Fever with a Top Rope Missile Dropkick and then pinned him while Ken Lucas cut off Ali Bey from making a save. Winners: Eddie Gilbert & Ken Lucas in 5:21 after a Top Rope Missile Dropkick on Mike Fever by Eddie Gilbert Eddy Mansfield vs. Roy Lee Welch - Eddy Mansfield jumped Roy Lee Welch as soon as he came into the ring and was all over him at the start of the match. Mansfield came close to getting disqualified as he continued to choke Roy Lee Welch on the ropes, only breaking at the count of 4 and then quickly going back to the choke. Eddy then worked over Welch for a bit with the chinlock until Roy Lee Welch started to comeback but Mansfield then cut him off with a clothesline! The Continental Lover went to the second rope for a legdrop but Welch moved out of the way and Mansfield landed hard on the canvas! Welch got up and tried to put the Spinning Toehold on Mansfield but Mansfield kicked him off and Welch went crashing into referee Juan Reynosa who went flying out of the ring. While the referee was down, Mansfield started to take a chain out of his tights and wrap it around his fist but Welch saw him doing it and took out his own chain and wrapped it around his fist! Mansfield went for a punch with the chain and Welch ducked it then Welch tried for his own but Mansfield dodged out of the way and then both men landed punches at the same time! Juan Reynosa got back in the ring to see both men laid out on the mat with chains wrapped around their fists and called the match off! Result: Draw in 8:12 after a Double DQ Steve Pardee vs. Mike Masters - Steve Pardee opened the match by offering a handshake but Masters responded by flexing. Pardee wanted to lock up but Masters was more interested in strutting and flexing which started to get Pardee ticked off. Pardee charged at Masters but Masters quickly went out through the ropes to cause the referee to push Pardee back. Mike Masters tried for a cheapshot while Pardee was being pushed back but Pardee blocked it and fired back with a right hand of his own. Masters ducked out of the ring and started complaining to the referee about Pardee's closed fist only to have the referee respond by starting to count him out. Masters started to get back into the ring when suddenly a masked man ran out of the locker room and attacked Steve Pardee! The referee immediately called for a disqualification when the masked man started to hammer on Pardee and hit a big backbreaker on him. Winner: Steve Pardee won in 4:32 by DQ after someone in a mask ran in and attacked him. The masked man started to stomp on Pardee when suddenly Mike Masters got back in the ring and started shoving him! Masters complained about the masked man causing him to lose by DQ. It looked like they were about to come to blows when Lord Alfred Hayes ran out and tried to play peacemaker. Masters got in Lord Alfred's face and the masked man shoved him back. Mike Masters was getting ready to throw a punch when suddenly Steve Pardee got up and drop kicked the masked man in the back and knocked him into Mike Masters who fell down. Lord Alfred Hayes cleared out of the ring and Steve Pardee grabbed the masked man and tossed him out of the ring after Lord Alfred Hayes! Pardee called for him to come back and fight but Lord Alfred Hayes instead grabbed him and they started back to the locker room together. Pardee turned around to see Mike Masters in his face! Pardee offered a handshake to Mike Masters for stopping the beatdown on him by Lord Alfred's newest charge and to the shock of the crowd Mike Masters accepted! Pardee & Masters shook hands but then suddenly Masters pulled Pardee in and grabbed the Full Nelson on him! Masters swung him around a bit before hitting a Full Nelson slam and left Pardee lying in the ring to a chorus of boos from the HemisFair crowd. Omar Atlas & Mil Mascaras vs. Jose Lothario & Mr. Mexico - Mascaras started the match for his team against Mr. Mexico and quickly took him down to the mat and maintained control with various holds. Mil tied him Mr. Mexico and started to untie his mask when Jose came in blasted Mascaras with a right hand. That allowed Mr. Mexico to break free and get to the corner to make a tag. Jose came in and started to work Mascaras over with some punches until Mascaras ducked a punch and then knocked Jose down with a big forearm and made the tag out to Omar Atlas. Omar Atlas came in and tried to lock up with Jose but instead caught a knee to the midsection and then got blasted with a big uppercut. Jose tossed Atlas into his corner and then he and Mr. Mexico started double teaming him while Mil Mascaras tried to make the save only to be held back by the referee. Jose and Mr. Mexico made a switch without a tag while the referee was busy getting Mascaras out of the ring and Mr. Mexico came in and put Atlas in a front facelock. Atlas managed to fight his way of the front facelock but immediately Jose ran in and hit him with a cheapshot which allowed Mr. Mexico to put him back in the front facelock. Atlas made it to the ropes and the referee called for a break but while Mr. Mexico distracted the referee, Jose choked him on the ropes. Mr. Mexico went for a suplex but Atlas reversed it and both men started to crawl towards their corner. Mr. Mexico got their first and tagged in Jose and Jose caused the referee to miss Atlas' tag out to Mascaras! While the referee was busy arguing with Mascaras about not seeing his tag, Mr. Mexico picked up Atlas into a Piledriver and then Jose spiked him down and then made the cover. The referee turned back around to see the pin and made the count of 3. Mil Mascaras came in and argued with the referee while Jose & Mr. Mexico celebrated their victory. Winners: Jose Lothario & Mr. Mexico in 11:44 after a Spike Piledriver on Omar Atlas Jim Duggan vs. Col. Buck Robley - Robley spent the early part of this match on his backfoot, trying to stay away from the big 'Hacksaw.' Finally Duggan got tired of chasing him and stood in the middle of the ring with his hands on his hips. Robley tried to offer a handshake and Duggan shook his hand and started crushing it which put Robley down on his knees. Duggan then blasted Robley with a punch which dropped Robley down to the mat and Duggan backed off and again stood in the middle of the ring with his hands on his hips. Robley circled him, sizing up the big man and then tried to charge at him only to a big right hand that put him back down on the mat. Duggan tried to pick Robley up and body slam him but Robley raked the eyes and then put the big man in a headlock to try and control him. Robley tried to really wrench on the headlock but Duggan just wriggled his hips to let the crowd know he was fine and then picked the Colonel up and dropped him across his knee in a big atomic drop! Robley rolled out of the ring and decided to head back to the locker room but Duggan went out after him and grabbed him and tossed him back in the ring. Robley caught Duggan with a boot to the face as he was coming between the ropes and then Robley kicked, pounded, punched, clawed and scratched at the big man doing everything he could to try and maintain his advantage. Robley went to whip Duggan into the ropes but the big man didn't budge! Robley tried again only to have Duggan reverse it and send Robley into the ropes and then come off the other side with a huge Spear! Duggan covered him for the count of 3 and another big win for the 'Hacksaw.' Winner: 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan in 9:07 with a Spear Duggan celebrated to the roar of the crowd when suddenly he got blasted in the back with chairshot from Bruiser Brody! Duggan only staggered but didn't go down but when he turned around he got blasted in the face with another chairshot and dropped to the mat! Brody climbed up to the top rope and came down hard on Jim Duggan with a big knee drop! Brody started to climb the top rope again when suddenly The Fabulous Ones ran out to the ring with chairs and Brody saw them coming and dropped down off the top rope and left the ring as The Fabs got in. Brody talked some trash to The Fabs from ringside but eventually decided he'd done what he came for and left. The Fabulous Ones helped a bloody Jim Duggan back to his feet and then referee Juan Reynosa helped him out of the ring but Duggan pushed Reynosa off of him and walked back to the locker room on his own. AWA World Tag Team Titles: The Fabulous Ones vs. The Wild Bills - The Wild Bills tried to attack with their bull ropes before the match started but The Fabs were ready for it and it turned into a tug of war instead. The Fabs let go after a short struggle which The Wild Bills didn't expect and it sent them flying backwards and The Fabs rushed in and started beating the hell out of them! The referee got the bull ropes and the AWA World Tag Team Titles out of the ring and then just decided to ring the bell and start the match. All 4 men started out in the ring and things were an out of control brawl for the first few minutes until finally things settled down into a normal tag match with Bill Irwin and Stan Lane in the ring with their partners outside on the apron. Irwin caught a kick from Stan Lane and then blasted him with a clothesline which allowed The Wild Bills to take control. The Bills kept Lane in their corner and kept tagging in and out while just beat the hell out of Stan but couldn't keep his shoulders down on the mat. Finally after a few minutes of watching his partner get beat on and being held out of the ring by referee Jack Howe, Steve Keirn went around on the outside and pulled Bil Irwin down off the apron and started brawling with him outside. Keirn whipped Irwin into the guardrail and then slammed his head into the ringpost and left him laid out on the arena floor and went back into his corner. Billy Jack tried to maintain control but eventually Stan Lane managed to go through his legs and make the tag out to Steve Keirn! Keirn came in and went to work on Billy Jack and then all 4 men ended up back inside the ring, brawling in opposite corners. The Fabs took control and whipped The Wild Bills into each other and then Steve Keirn blasted Billy Jack with a Flying Forearm while Stan Lane hit a Russian Legsweep on Bill Irwin. Keirn went for the cover on Billy Jack when suddenly David Von Erich ran in with his Southwest Tag Team Title and slammed it down across Keirn's back, causing a disqualification! Stan Lane tried to attack David Von Erich but only got a belt to the face for his troubles! Winners: The Fabulous Ones by DQ in 14:10 after interference by David Von Erich David Von Erich and The Wild Bills started to beatdown The Fabulous Ones when a bandaged Jim Duggan ran out and grabbed The Wild Bills' bullrope and started swinging it around, causing everyone to clear out of the ring! The Wild Bills & David ran back to the locker room as Duggan challenged all of them to come back and fight!
goc
Taped at The Junction in San Antonio, TX on 9/5Southwest Championship Wrestling airing on Saturday 9/10 in local markets -Show intro- Steve Stack: Fans we have another exciting hour in store here on Southwest Championship Wrestling! In today's main event we'll see Ron Starr facing David Von Erich in the finals of the Southwest Television Title tournament! We'll also show you footage of how The Fabulous Ones won their match against the AWA World Tag Team Champions the Wild Bills but didn't come away with the titles, we'll talk to Lord Alfred Hayes about his newest charge and much more but before we get to any of that I was told by the producer of this show that we received a sizable amount of money and a video tape in the mail with a request to play the tape at the start of the hour. I personally have not seen the tape myself but the producer has cleared it for broadcast and told me it contains information about the attack of Abdullah the Butcher on Ron Starr last week here on TV and the attack by Bruiser Brody on 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan from the HemisFair Arena. Let's show that tape now: Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie: Hahaha you thought you would never see my face again? You thought just because I have been banished from Texas for one year that I was going to slink away with my tail between my legs? I will never allow the embarrassment I have suffered to stand! Ron Starr thought he could humiliate me 2 weeks ago on TV well how did it feel Ron Starr, when the Madman from Sudan was carving your face up? How did it feel when he crushed your ribs? I may not have been there to see it but money will make friends of any man if you are willing to pay and I watched it on tape the very next day. And I laughed at that idiot Stanley Blackburn when he said that Abdullah the Butcher has been barred from all AWA events! He did not need any sanctioning to punish Ron Starr and nothing will stop him from doing it to anyone I sic him on! Abdulalh the Butcher will eat your lawyers for breakfast, there is nothing you can do to stop him when I give him my orders! But for Jim Duggan...it pleased me more to use Bruiser Brody as the agent of your destruction. I only wanted to send a message to Ron Starr but for you Jim Duggan I want nothing less than your complete and utter destruction. I know that you consider Bruiser Brody a mentor to you, a man who shared your background in football and helped you get started on the path to becoming a professional wrestler. So I took great pleasure in paying him to smash your head with a chair, to make you bleed and make you suffer! Because what I have in store for you Jim Duggan is not just physical pain. I am not going to just break your body, I am going to break your mind, I am going to break your spirit! You are a symbol for these stupid Americans and by breaking you I will show them that America's time as the great world power is over! It is time for my people to take back the power of this world and since I now have to wait a year to come back to Texas and shut down their oil fields I will spend every minute of it planning your demise. There is no friend that you will ever have that I can not buy Jim Duggan. My wealth is inexhaustible, if you somehow survive your battle with Bruiser Brody I will find another man you consider your friend and I will use your country's own almighty dollar to turn him against you. You have been warned Jim Duggan, the time is ticking on your career and I will be the man who causes your demise! Steve Stack: Fans I imagine Jim Duggan is going to have something to say about that and I'm gonna try and get him out here to talk to me while we take this break so don't go away! -First Commercial Break- Steve Stack: We're back and I'm standing now with 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan and I know you just heard what Sheik Adnan had to say about you and why Bruiser Brody showed up at the HemisFair Arena Sunday night and attacked you. What do you have to say in response to that? Jim Duggan: Sheik Adnan couldn't get the job done himself so now he's going to use his money to bring in other people to try and do it? Well bring it on tough guy! I'm not afraid of Bruiser Brody, Abdullah the Butcher or any man walking the planet! He's right when he says that Brody helped me make the transition from football to wrestling but he and I were never really friends and I don't have any problem getting in the ring with him and showing him who the better man is! Send Bruiser Brody down to the HemisFair Arena this Sunday night so I can show you just how much your little war is going to cost you. Adnan you might as well take all your dirty money and flush it down the toilet because that's all it's going to amount to trying to break me brother. No one is going to break the Hacksaw! -Jim Duggan leaves the interview area and Lord Alfred Hayes and his masked man enter while Steve Stack is talking & Steve Stack: What a war that's going to be! 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan against Bruiser Brody this Sunday night at the HemisFair arena! And now let me bring in another man who will be wrestling this Sunday night, the newest wrestler to be managed by Lord Alfred Hayes. Lord Alfred Hayes: That's the best introduction you could give us Steven Stack? I should know by now to expect nothing but incompetence from you anyway. Now let me do the proper introduction. Since my arrival here in Texas I have been embarrassed, humiliated, tarnished and besmirched by that insufferable, deplorable, despicable youth Steve Pardee. And now in this man I have found my Avenger. Steve Stack: So now we know that he is going by the name The Avenger, is there a reason that he in concealing his identity with that mask? Lord Alfred Hayes: Why yes Steven, there is a reason. And that is because if he were to wrestle under his more well known identity then no one would have the guts to step into the ring with such an experienced competitor. This man has been in the ring with Killer Kowalski, Reggie Parks, Karl Gotch, Wilbur Snyder, Pampero Firpo Eddie Sharkey, Verne Gagne and many other well known names in the annals of wrestling history. But while those men are nearly all at home resting in their rocking chairs and happily retired, The Avenger is only reaching the peak of his abilities. That is the kind of stamina that Steve Pardee and the rest of Southwest Championship Wrestling have to deal with. And now I have the pleasure of accompanying him to the ring and showing everyone watching this television program just what The Avenger has in store for Steve Pardee this Sunday night. Steve Stack: Alright let's send it down to the ring now where Juan Reynosa is already in the ring waiting for action against the masked Avenger. Juan Reynosa vs. The Avenger The Avenger totally dominated this match, tossing Reynosa all around the ring. The Avenger tied Juan up in the ropes and pounded on him with forearms across the chest while Lord Alfred Hayes kept the referee distracted. After beating on Reynosa with forearms and punches, The Avenger finished him off with a bodyslam and then a big knee drop onto his chest. Steve Stack: It looks like Lord Alfred Hayes has brought another rough brawler here to Southwest Championship Wrestling, despite his talk about wanting to show the fans of Texas the art of scientific wrestling. Fans don't go away because when we come back we're gonna see Mike Masters & Tiny Anderson in action together and also talk to Mike Masters about his match with Steve Pardee and confrontation with The Avenger from last Sunday night. -Second Commercial Break- & Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! I have with me now two men who we'll see teaming together shortly on TV here today against Mike Fever & Jimmy Doo but before they go to the ring I wanted to get a word from Mike Masters about what took place this past Sunday night in his match with Steve Pardee. Mike, we saw you lose by disqualification after the interference of The Avenger and then you saved Pardee from the attack by The Avenger & Lord Alfred Hayes but after that was over you attacked Pardee and put him in the Full Nelson. Why did you help him only to attack him right after? Mike Masters: Because I wasn't helping him to begin with! I attacked The Avenger for costing me my match and then that chump Steve Pardee offered me a handshake and I responded by putting him in the Full Nelson because I wanted everyone to see what would have happened if it wasn't for Lord Alfred Hayes sending another one of his grumpy old men out to interfere in my match. Steve Stack: Do you have any plans to challenge The Avenger in response to his interference in your match? Mike Masters: Right now I'm focused on training up Tiny Anderson here and making him a worthy partner so that he and I can take the Southwest Tag Team Titles. But if The Avenger comes into my path again then I won't hesitate to beat on him and sending him running just like I did the last time we were in a ring together. Steve Stack: Well if you don't mind I'd like to ask Tiny Anderson a few questions about how his training with you has gone over the past month. Mike Masters: I do mind! Tiny Anderson doesn't have anything to say about his training that I didn't tell you here last week. He's in the gym every morning with me, on the treadmill, on the exercise bike working to get rid of the big spare tire he's carrying around. Soon I'm going to have him lifting with me and maybe eventually he'll have a body that looks half as good as mine. While Masters was ranting about his training regimen, Tiny Anderson quickly ate an entire candy bar that he had hidden in his tights and dropped wrapper on the floor Steve Stack: Well this Sunday night you two will be facing someone who has caused a bit of trouble for your protege lately, Mike Jackson, and his partner The Masked Wildfire. Mike Masters: Mike Jackson is a nobody! He doesn't scare me or Tiny Anderson. If you didn't notice, Tiny Anderson beat him last Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena in the middle of the ring. This Sunday night I'm going to have Tiny Anderson finish him for good and you'll never see his ugly mug here on TV again. Now if you're done asking me asinine questions, we have a match to get to. As Mike Masters starts to leave he sees the candy wrapped lying on the ground Mike Masters: What is this Steve Stack?! Is this what you do our here during the commercial breaks, stuff your face with candy? I better not see anything like this out here again during my interview time or I'm gonna have YOU in the gym with me on the treadmill and the exercise bike! Steve Stack: That's not mine that's - Mike Masters: Shut it! I don't have time for your excuses, let's go Tiny! Steve Stack: Fans I don't have to tell you who was out here eating that candy bar, let's just send it to the ring for the next match. Jimmy Doo & Mike Fever vs. Mike Masters & Tiny Anderson Mike Masters mocked the physiques of Jimmy Doo & Mike Fever before the match started and forced Tiny Anderson to start the match against Mike Fever while Tiny tried to stay out on the apron. Fever grabbed a headlock on Tiny after the initial lockup and Anderson was unable to break out of it despite trying to shoot Fever off into the ropes. Fever made the tag out to Jimmy Doo while still controlling the headlock and Doo came in and they made a quick switch on the headlock, maintaining control of Tiny Anderson. Masters continued to shout advice at Tiny Anderson on how to break the headlock but to no avail as Doo kept the headlock on. Jimmy Doo made another tag out and a switch on the headlock with Mike Fever and then Fever did a headlock takeover and maintained the headlock on the mat in the center of the ring. Masters ran in and planted his boot right between the eyes of Mike Fever then ran back out which allowed Tiny Anderson to break out of the headlock. Anderson made the tag out to Mike Masters who came in and shouted "watch how it's done" only to run into an arm drag from Mike Fever. Fever grabbed an arm bar on Mike Masters and made another quick tag out to Doo who tried to come in and grab the arm of Mike Masters but instead ate a right hand. Masters whipped Doo into the ropes and then blasted him with a double sledge blow to the chest. Jimmy Doo got back up and Masters was right behind him to put the Full Nelson on! Jimmy Doo quickly submitted to the Full Nelson, giving the victory to the team of Mike Masters & Tiny Anderson. Steve Stack: That's another win for the somewhat lopsided team of Mike Masters and Tiny Anderson! We'll see if they can replicate their success this Sunday night against the team of Mike Jackson and The Masked Wildfire! Ladies and gentlemen don't go away because when we come back we're going to talk to Roy Lee Welch about his upcoming Chain Match this Sunday night against Eddy Mansfield! You won't want to miss it! -Third Commercial Break- Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and I have with me now Roy Lee Welch! Roy you asked the promoters of Southwest Championship Wrestling to sanction a chain match between you and Eddy Mansfield for this Sunday night and they've granted your request. What exactly has made you ask for this specific stipulation? Roy Lee Welch: Well Steve, anyone who has been following what's taken places between Eddy Mansfield and myself over the past 2 months knows that he always seems to have a chain hidden somewhere on him, not just in his matches with me or against me but almost every time he comes to the ring. Last Sunday night I knew what to expect from him so I brought my own chain to the ring with me and when I saw him wrapping his chain around his fist while referee Juan Reynosa was knocked outside the ring, I was ready to fight fire with fire. Unfortunately we both ended up landing punches at the same time and both of us were laid out with chains wrapped around our fists when Juan Reynosa got back into the ring and he threw out the match. Well this time I don't want there to be any hiding or any games to be played, the referee is going to tie one end of a chain around each of our wrists and we can both use it as a weapon as much as we want. I know he's gonna whip me and beat me with that chain but I plan to do twice as much to him as what he does to me and I'm gonna come out the winner. I'm tired of going around and around with Eddy Mansfield, with count outs, disqualifications, bringing in different partners, I'm ready for this thing to end once and for all. And when I wrap that chain around my fist and punch his lights out it WILL be all over for Eddy Mansfield, Steve Stack I can promise you that. -Roy Lee Welch leaves the interview area while Eddie Gilbert and Ken Lucas come in & Steve Stack: Well that Chain Match is just another one of the big matches you're going to see this Sunday night at the HemisFair arena! With me now is a team who we'll also see in action this Sunday night, Eddie Gilbert and Ken Lucas! Guys I'd just like to congratulate you on your first win as a team last week against Ali Bey and Mike Fever! Ken Lucas: Thank you Steve! I knew that Eddie Gilbert had the first inside him to be a great team mate for me but he even exceeded my expectations not just in the ring with me last Sunday night, but here on TV last week when he beat Charlie Cook in the middle of the ring and sent him out of Southwest Championship Wrestling. Steve Stack: That was a very impressive victory, no doubt. This Sunday night you two are facing another team that we saw make their debut as a pairing last Sunday night at the HemisFair in the team of Terry Adonis and big Bruiser Costa. Do you have any thoughts about your competition this Sunday night? Eddie Gilbert: Steve you know there are a lot of great, tough teams here in the area and they just keep coming because this is one of the hottest areas in wrestling right now. But my partner Ken Lucas here has been a Southwest Tag Team Champion before and I hope that he and I can prove ourselves and he can wear that belt around his waist again with me beside him. As far as Terry Adonis & Bruiser Costa go, we've only seen them in action once before but we know they used to team together up in Canada. They may have some more experience together than Ken and I do but we feel like we're ready and we're gonna give them one heck of a fight this Sunday night. -Eddie Gilbert and Ken Lucas leave the interview area and Mil Mascaras comes in Steve Stack: Before we go to break I'd like to talk to this man here, the man with a thousand masks, Mil Mascaras about what took place last Sunday night in his match with Omar Atlas against the team of Jose Lothario and Mr. Mexico. Mil first of all, how is Omar Atlas doing after suffering that Spike Piledriver? Mil Mascaras: He is doing ok Steve Stack, he's not able to wrestle for a few weeks but there was no damage to his vertebrae. He suffered a stinger but he will be back and I know he is going to be looking for revenge against Jose and Mr. Mexico when he does come back. But for me the fight must continue on. Steve Stack: I heard that you found yourself another partner for another tag match this Sunday against Jose and his protege, do you mind telling us who you've found to team with? Mil Mascaras: Since Jose has been parading that impostor around in the colors of my country, I am not the only man he has offended. This Sunday night I will have with me a man from Mexico City, Mexico and a member of one of the most famous wrestling families, not just from Mexico but from anywhere in the world, the Guerrero family! Steve Stack: Wow! Mando Guerrero is going to be in San Antonio this Sunday night to be your partner against Jose Lothario and Mr. Mexico? Mil Mascaras: That's right Steve, Mando called me after he heard what happened to Omar Atlas and offered to come and be my partner. So Jose, that's what you have to deal with this Sunday night! The Guerrero family was a friend to you for years but since you turned your back on our people they have turned their back on you! And with the help of Mando Guerrero I am going to rip that mask off and expose that impostor as the fake that we all know he is! Steve Stack: What an announcement, just another match added to an already loaded lineup this Sunday night! Make sure to buy your tickets now to see Mil Mascaras and Mando Guerrero team up to face Jose Lothario and Mr. Mexico, Jim Duggan against Bruiser Brody, The Fabulous Ones take on The Texas Dynasty for the Southwest Tag Team Titles, Roy Lee Welch vs. Eddy Mansfield in a Chain match and much, much more! You won't want to miss it! And you won't want to change that channel because when we come back from this next commercial break we're going to take to Jose and Mr. Mexico and we'll also see The Fabulous Ones, Steve Keirn and Stan Lane in action, don't go away! -Fourth Commercial Break- Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! I have with me now the men who will finally get their rematch this Sunday night against The Texas Dynasty for the Southwest Tag Team Titles, The Fabulous Ones! Stan and Steve, first of all let me tell you what a travesty of justice I think it was how you two were robbed of the AWA World Tag Team Titles last Sunday night. Stan Lane: Well thank you Steve. We agree with you, everyone at the HemisFair Arena knows we had The Wild Bills beaten in the middle of the ring and we are about to win the World Tag Team Titles when David Von Erich ran down to the ring and attacked us causing us to win by disqualification. And since the titles can't change hands on a disqualification we got robbed of the belts that should have been ours. Steve Keirn: But that's ok. Because that was only a temporary setback, we're gonna get another shot at The Wild Bills we just have to do one thing first. That's take the Southwest Tag Team Titles from David Von Erich and Tully Blanchard and that's exactly what we're gonna do this Sunday night. Stan Lane: You two tried to avoid it, Tully ran away and hasn't been in the area in weeks and David's been hanging out on the beach with Sunshine but all that stalling is coming to an end this Sunday night. We're gonna give you two the beating that you deserve and when it's all over we're going to walk out the Southwest Tag Team Champions and we'll once again be the number one contenders to the Wild Bills and the AWA World Tag Team Titles. Steve Stack: Well gentlemen let me wish you like this Sunday night! And now let's head down to the ring where we're going to see The Fabulous Ones in action against The Canadian and T.G. Stone! The Canadian and T.G. Stone vs. The Fabulous Ones The Canadian started the match against Stan Lane and it turned into a wild brawl between the two. Eventually Stan Lane got the better of it and The Canadian tagged out to T.G. Stone. Stan quickly took control of T.G. Stone and then tagged out to Steve Keirn. Lane whipped Stone into the ropes and Keirn came off the opposite ropes with a big Flying Forearm and covered him for the pin. The Canadian left ringside before T.G. Stone was even fully counted down for the 3. Jose Lothario: Don't give us any introduction Steve Stack! We don't need one from a biased announcer like yourself, the leader of the Mil Mascaras fan club. These people know who I am and they should know that this man beside me is Mr. Mexico, the role model of every man, woman and child from the great country of Mexico. Steve Stack: Ok then Jose let me ask you about the things we just heard from Mil Mascaras. He says that Mando Guerrero called him and offered to be his partner for this Sunday night. You have been a friend of the Guerreros for over twenty years, you have teamed with Gory Guerrero and all of his sons including Mando at various times over the years. What do you think about Mando specifically calling Mil Mascaras and offering to be his partner to battle you and Mr. Mexico? Jose Lothario: I think it shows just how jealous and scared the rest of the Mexican wrestlers are. They are scared that my protege is going to steal the hearts and minds of all their fans and expose all of them as the weak, pitiful examples that they are for our people. Mr. Mexico is the epitome of everything that is pure and good. He doesn't drink, he doesn't smoke, he came to this country and put 100% into learning the language and becoming part of the culture. He didn't hide in a barrio full of people who want to live in the past, he integrated the right way and people like Mil Mascaras and Mando Guerrero are afraid of being exposed as the false idols they are. Steve Stack: Alright Jose, well let me ask you why you seemed to want to end the career of Omar Atlas last Sunday night? A Spike Piledriver is one of the most dangerous moves in all of professional wrestling. Mr. Mexico: That was MY idea Steve Stack! I wanted to end his career because once again these people were cheering a man who is a terrible role model. Jose told me that Omar Atlas has 7 kids back in Venezuela and he abandoned them, he never calls or writes them, he never sends home any money! He is Steve Stack: Now I'm not going to allow you to come out here and slander him like that! I know Omar Atlas and everything you just said about him is a lie! Jose Lothario: Steve Stack, you can just dismiss yourself right now! We're tired of you calling us liars, so you get Rapido out here and he can finish this interview! Steve Stack: This is my show and I'm not going anywhere, I think you two have talked long enough and Mr. Mexico: No Steve Stack! We are not going to be silenced! Steve Stack: Yes you are! You've slandered enough out here today, I'm sending the show to a commercial break and when it comes back you two are going to be gone! -Fifth and final Commercial Break- & Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and before we get to our big main event of Ron Starr vs. David Von Erich in the finals of the Southwest Television Title tournament, I wanted to get a quick word from David about his match with Ron Starr here today and his match this Sunday night against The Fabulous Ones. David Von Erich: First of all this match today is going to be a piece of cake. You saw what Abdullah the Butcher did to Ron Starr last week, there is no way the man isn't walking around with broken ribs. He refused to go to a doctor because he knew he'd get pulled from action if he did but that's going to be the biggest mistake of his life because getting in the ring with me at less than 100 percent might just lead to the end of his career. Steve Stack: Well you might just be right about Ron Starr's ribs, he refused to talk to me about whether or not he was injured in that attack and I heard the same thing about him refusing to go to a doctor. Be that as it may, he's still going to put up quite a fight. But we have limited time so let me just ask you WHY you interfered in the World Tag Team Title match between The Fabulous Ones and The Wild Bills last Sunday night? David Von Erich: It's simple Steve Stack, they never should have been in the ring with the World Tag Team Champions. The only team that should have gotten a shot at those belts were myself and Tully Blanchard because the Southwest Tag Team Champions are the number one contenders to the AWA World Tag Team Champs. So why did The Fabulous Ones get not one but TWO shots at the World Tag Team Champions? Since I couldn't very well get Stanley Blackburn in the ring and smash him with one of the tag belts I had to settle for The Fabs. But make no mistake, Tully and I are going to beat The Fabulous Ones this Sunday night and after we do WE are going to be the ones who take those World Tag Team Titles from The Wild Bills. Now if you'll excuse me I have another belt to add to my collection. Steve Stack: Fans I'm sorry I didn't have more time to ask David about his interference in the World Tag Team Title match but we have to send it down to the ring now for today's main event, the finals of the Southwest TV Title tournament! Ron Starr vs. David Von Erich - Final match of the Southwest TV Title Tournament Ron Starr has his ribs taped up and David immediately tries to target them but Starr plays cat and mouse, trying to hit and run and avoid getting caught in a hold by Von Erich. David ends up playing possum after a clothesline by Ron Starr he gets up slow and leaves his head open for Starr's big knee lift and when Starr comes in for it, David pulls back and then grabs him into an abdominal stretch! David uses the ropes for leverage and Sunshine takes the blame for the ropes shaking when the referee turns to look. Finally Starr is able to hip toss out of the abdominal stretch and then blasts David with knee lift as he's getting up but Sunshine puts David's foot on the ropes to keep him from getting pinned. Starr goes out of the ring after Sunshine but she runs around the ring and then into the ring and when Starr comes in after her he gets caught by David's running high knee. David puts the abdominal claw on Ron Starr and Starr tries to fight his way out of it but eventually he falls to the mat and has his shoulders counted down! David Von Erich is the winner and the first ever Southwest Television Champion! Steve Stack: What a valiant effort by Ron Starr who surely wrestled that match with broken ribs! David Von Erich did what he said he would though and The Texas Dynasty continues to control every title here in Southwest Championship Wrestling! Make sure you come down to The HemisFair Arena this Sunday night to see if The Fabulous Ones can stop their domination and take away the Southwest Tag Team Titles! You'll also see Jim Duggan vs. Bruiser Brody, Mil Mascaras and Mando Guerrero vs. Jose Lothario and Mr. Mexico, Roy Lee Welch vs. Eddy Mansfield in a Chain match and much much more! dawho5
I like the lead-in show a lot for HemisFair. Really stacked show with even the 4,5 and 6 matches down getting some good buildup. Looking forward to the chain match and the main event tag match especially. Duggan vs. Brody is interesting at the very least.
goc
Southwest Championship Wrestling @ San Antonio, TX - The HemisFair Arena 9/11/83 Yin & Yang vs. Mike Fever & Ali Bey - Yin and Yang made their Southwest debut in this match. Yin was wearing a full black bodysuit with a white mask and Yang was wearing a full white bodysuit with a black mask. Yang started the match wrestling very clean and scientifically, countering Ali Bey's brawling tactics with pure wrestling. Once Yin was tagged in he came in a house of fire, using fists, forearms and kicks to take over on Mike Fever. Yin won the match with a flying headbutt off the top rope. Winners: Yin & Ying in 6:07 after a Flying Headbutt by Yin onto Mike Fever The Canadian vs. Jimmy Doo - The Canadian just totally mauled Jimmy Doo in this match, hammering him with punches and hard kicks to the face. The Canadian won in quick fashion after knocking Jimmy Doo out with a running boot to the face. Winner: The Canadian in 3:43 after a running boot to the face Mike Masters & Tiny Anderson vs. Mike Jackson & The Masked Wildfire - Tiny Anderson and Mike Jackson started the match against each other. Mike Masters tried to distract Jackson by taunting him from the apron so Tiny Anderson could attack him from behind but Jackson was too smart to fall into the trap and he moved out of the way of a charging Anderson which sent Tiny crashing into the neutral corner. Jackson followed that up by hitting a big monkey flip on Tiny out of the corner and then grabbing a headlock. Jackson pulled Tiny over to the corner and made a tag out to The Masked Wildfire who came in and exchanged places with Jackson and put his own headlock on Tiny Anderson. Anderson started to undo the lacing on Wildfire's mask so Wildfire took him off his feet with a headlock takedown and maintained control on the mat. Anderson had to fight to keep his shoulders off the mat as the referee quickly started to count any time they both were down. Mike Masters started going balistic on the apron, telling Tiny Anderson to stop messing around and get up. Finally Anderson was able to get back up to his feet and shoved The Masked Wildfire off into the ropes and when Masked Wildfire came back, he smashed heads with Tiny sending both men down to the canvas. Jackson & Masters both cheered their partners on to to make the tag and just as Wildfire looked to be about to make the tag, Masters came charging into the ring! Masked Wildfire tagged out to Jackson but the referee was distracted by Masters and didn't see the tag! Masters pulled Tiny out of the ring while the referee was arguing with Mike Jackson about the tag and then grabbed Masked Wildfire and put him into the Full Nelson! The referee turned back around to see Wildfire in the Full Nelson submitting and signaled for the bell! Mike Jackson tried to argue with the referee about Mike Masters illegally coming in the ring but the referee feigned ingorance and Mike Masters and Tiny Anderson were declared the winners!Winners: Mike Masters and Tiny Anderson in 7:01 after The Masked wildfire submitted to Mike Masters' Full Nelson Steve Pardee vs. The Avenger - Steve Pardee & The Avenger locked up after the opening bell and Pardee was quickly shoved to the mat by the bigger and stronger Avenger. Pardee tried for another lockup only to receive the same result. Pardee circled the masked man, trying to eye him up for a weakness and then shot in at his legs but The Avenger was able to sprawl and block the takedown. Instead Pardee found himself caught in a front facelock. The Avenger worked the front facelock on Pardee and any time Pardee seemed to start to stir and fight out of it, Lord Alfred would distract the referee allowing The Avenger to choke Pardee without being caught. Finally Pardee was able to push his way into the ropes to force a break. The Avenger waited until the count of 4 to finally break the hold and when he finally did the referee forced him back and started threatening to disqualify him for not breaking. The Avenger tried to grab Pardee again but Pardee quickly went around behind him with a waistlock! Pardee tried to take Avenger down from the waistlock but instead caught a big elbow to the side of the head the caused him to break his grip. Avenger tried to turn around with a big clothesline but Pardee ducked the first one and then countered the second try with a big arm drag! The Avenger got back to his feet only to be taken down by a dropkick! The Avenger rolled out of the ring for a consultation with Lord Alfred Hayes while Steve Pardee challenged him to get back in the ring! While the referee was keeping Pardee away from the ropes, Lord Alfred slipped something into the mask of The Avenger through the eye hole and when Avenger got back up on the apron he headbutted Steve Pardee which caused Pardee to drop like a ton of bricks! The Avenger came into the ring and dropped a big knee down on the chest of Steve Pardee and then pinned him for the count of 3! Winner: The Avenger in 7:33 after a headbutt with a loaded mask Eddie Gilbert & Ken Lucas vs. Terry Adonis & Bruiser Costa - Ken Lucas started the match against Terry Adonis and totally out wrestled and out fought him. Adonis tagged out to Bruiser Costa who gained control over Lucas for a short while using his size and weight advantage but after being worked over for a bit, Lucas was able to dodge a splash from Bruiser Costa and tag out to Eddie Gilbert. Gilbert came in a house of fire and took Bruiser Costa down with a big dropkick! Adonis came charging in and he ate a dropkick as well! Gilbert went for another dropkick on Bruiser Costa but Costa dodged out of the way and then came down with a big fat man elbow drop on Eddie Gilbert. Eddie Gilbert got worked over by Costa and Adonis for a long time with Ken Lucas keeping the crowd cheering him on from the apron. Finally Gilbert managed to roll under an Adonis clothesline and make a leaping tag to Ken Lucas! Lucas came in and blasted Adonis with a big right hand! Costa tried to run in but met the same right hand! Eddie Gilbert climbed up to the top rope and launched himself into Bruiser Costa with a Missile Dropkick while Ken Lucas locked in his patented Sleeper Hold on Terry Adonis for the submission victory. Winners: Eddie Gilbert & Ken Lucas in 10:47 after Ken Lucas made Terry Adonis submit to a Sleeper Hold Bruiser Brody vs. Jim Duggan - This match never even got started as Bruiser Brody attacked Jim Duggan in the aisle before their match! Brody rammed Duggan's head into the ring post and then dropped down on him with a big knee drop from the apron! Referee Juan Reynosa tried to pull Brody off of Duggan but got tossed over the barricade and into the crowd! Brody continued to beat on Duggan, now bloody from having his head rammed into the post. After a big body slam on the concrete, Jimmy Doo, Mike Fever and Ali Bey ran out to try and stop Bruiser Brody but Brody blasted them with boots and big rights and lefts that sent them all down. Duggan staggered back to his feet and Brody tried to charge at him but Duggan met him coming in with a big right hand! Brody staggered back and Duggan grabbed his head and slammed it into the steel ringpost! Brody went stumbling around the ringside area as Mike Jackson and The Masked Wildfire came out to try and stop Duggan from going after him but Duggan shoved them off and came charging into Brody with a huge tackle that sent both men careening over the ring steps! Finally the entire locker room emptied with Eddie Gilbert, Ken Lucas, The Fabulous Ones and Yang came out to hold Duggan back with the help of Mike Jackson and The Masked Wildfire while The Texas Dynasty, The Avenger, Mike Masters, Tiny Anderson and Yin ran out to held back Bruiser Brody with the help of Mike Fever, Ali Bey and Jimmy Doo. Finally the two men were sent back to their respective locker rooms with the match being declared a no contest. Result: No contest Mil Mascaras & Mando Guerrero vs. Jose Lothario & Mr. Mexico - Mil Mascaras started the match against Jose Lothario and quickly took him down on the mat and started working him over with various holds. Mr. Mexico tried to run in and break the headlock by attacking Mascaras but Mando ran in and cut him off with a big right hand! While the referee was busy getting Mando back out of the ring, Mr. Mexico pulled out a knuckle duster and blasted Mascaras with it! Mascaras went down on his back and Jose got on top of him for the pin! The referee turned around to see Jose pinning Mascaras and started to count but Mascaras kicked out at the count of 2! Jose quickly tagged out to Mr. Mexico who came in and put a chin lock on Mil Mascaras. Mando got the fans fired up to cheer on Mascaras and Mascaras finally managed to break out of the chin lock and make the tag to Mando! Mando came in a house on fire rolling all over the ring and keeping Mr. Mexico off balance with his odd movements! Mr. Mexico tagged out to Jose after being frustrated by Mando and Jose tried to get Mando to box with him only to also have Mando throw him off with his odd movements. Jose tagged back out and then while Mando was focused on Mr. Mexico coming into the ring, Jose took a cheap shot at Mando allowing Mr. Mexico to come in and blast him with a clothesline. Mando tried to get back up only to take a hard vertical suplex from Mr. Mexico! Mr. Mexico then ran over to Mil Mascaras corner and blasted him with a cheap shot that caused Mascaras to come running in the ring for revenge! While the referee was holding back Mascaras, Jose came in and nailed Mando with a huge uppercut! Mr. Mexico then picked Mando up for a piledriver and Jose spiked him down! Mr. Mexico covered the unconscious Mando Guerrero and the referee made the count of 3 while Mil Mascaras ran outside to get a chair! Mascaras came back in the ring with the chair right after the referee's 3 count and tried to blast Mr Mexico with it but Jose grabbed him and pulled him out of the way and the two of them quickly ran back to the locker room. Winners: Jose Lothario and Mr. Mexico in 11:29 Chain Match: Roy Lee Welch vs. Eddy Mansfield - The referee began to attach the chain to the wrist of Roy Lee Welch first and then when he started to attach it to Mansfield's wrist, Mansfield grabbed his end of the chain and blasted Welch in the head with it. He started hammering on Welch's back with the chain while referee Juan Reynosa tried to pull him off. Mansfield finally backed off and allowed Juan Reynosa to attach the chain to his wrist. Roy Lee Welch got up bleeding and Mansfield grabbed the chain and pulled Welch into him and then took him down with a clothesline across the throat with the chain! Mansfield quickly went for a cover but Welch was able to get his shoulder up just before the count of 3. Mansfield then wrapped the chain around Welch's throat and began choking him while Juan Reynosa desperately tried to pull him off. Finally Mansfield broke the choke and then started whipping Welch across the back with the chain, opening up big welts. Mansfield backed off and started to wrap the chain around his arm while a bloody Roy Lee started to get back to his feet. Mansfield came charging in for a clothesline with the chain wrapped around his arm but Welch countered him with a drop toe hold and then quickly got a modified Camel Clutch on Mansfield while wrapping the chain around Mansfield's neck! Mansfield got up and hit a chain wrapped fist drop on Roy Lee Welch and tried for another cover but Welch again kicked out at the count of two. Mansfield scooped Welch up and bodyslammed him and then went up to the top rope. Mansfield started to wrap the chain around his arm but Welch yanked on the chain and Mansfield came flying awkwardly off the top rope! Welch quickly climbed up top rope in the same corner and wrapped the chain around his elbow and came off with an elbow drop right across the throat of Eddy Mansfield! Welch hooked the leg for the cover and this time got the count of 3! Welch, bloody and barely able to stand, had his hand raised by Juan Reynosa while Mansfield remained laid out on the mat in a poll of his own blood. Winner: Roy Lee Welch in 10:19 after a chain assisted elbow drop off the top rope Southwest Tag Team Titles: The Fabulous Ones vs. Texas Dynasty - After The Fabulous Ones were in the ring, David came out alone and made the announcement that Tully Blanchard was not able to make it back to Texas in time for this match and that he would defend the Southwest Tag Team Titles in a singles match against one of The Fabs. The Fabs started to argue with the referee Jack Howe when suddenly Tully Blanchard came out of the crowd and attacked them from behind! David quickly joined in and The Texas Dynasty started beating the hell out of The Fabs! The referee decided to go ahead and call for the bell and start the match with all 4 men still inside the ring! Tully tossed Steve Keirn out through the ropes and then finally the referee got David to go out on the apron, leaving Tully and Stan Lane as the first two legal men. Tully got Stan in his corner and he and David switched off making frequent tags to keep the fresh man in against Stan Lane. Stan blocked a punch from David and then took David off his feet with a series of karate kicks and tried to get to his corner but Tully came in illegally and chop blocked him to cut him off. Steve Keirn ran past the referee and started beating the hell out of Tully, pounding on him with rights and lefts but while the referee was distracted trying to break that up, Sunshine reached under the bottom rope and started digging into the eyes of Stan Lane. The referee finally got Tully and Keirn back in the corner and David put the Iron Claw on Stan Lane! Stan went down to his knees and then all the way down on his back and started to have his shoulders counted down but then with the help of Steve Keirn and the crowd cheering him on, he got back to his feet and managed to break the iron claw with hard elbows into the stomach of David Von Erich! Stan and David both went bouncing off the ropes at each other and ended up crashing into each other head first. Both men started to crawl to their corner and made the tag at the same time! Steve Keirn came in on fire and blasted Tully with a right hand that sent him down to the mat! David tried to cut off Keirn's momentum only to be tossed out through the ropes! Tully hit Keirn from behind with a double axehandle while Keirn was tossing out David and then whipped Keirn into the ropes and dropped down for a back body drop. Steve Keirn quickly went for the cover but as the referee got to the count of 2, David Von Erich came back in and kicked referee Jack Howe in the head to stop the count! Stan Lane came in and attacked David Von Erich and whipped him into the ropes and Steve Keirn blasted David with a Flying Forearm! Jack Howe got back up and started arguing with Juan Reynosa and then grabbed the belts away from The Fabulous Ones! The crowd quickly turned from joys and cheering to hate and jeering as Jack Howe told the ring announcer to announce that The Texas Dynasty were disqualified and that although The Fabulous Ones won the match by DQ, the titles did not change hands! Winners: The Fabulous Ones by DQ in 12:50 after David Von Erich kicked the referee in the head. Texas Dynasty remained the Southwest Tag Team Champions The Texas Dynasty were handed back the titles and tried to leave with their tails between their legs but The Fabs went out after them and started beating the hell out of Tully and David! They grabbed the belts away from them and started to whip them with the leather straps which sent The Texas Dynasty running back to the locker room with Sunshine behind them. The Fabulous Ones got back in the ring and held the titles over their heads while Jack Howe tried to take them away but eventually backed off after being threatened by Steve Keirn. The fans reacted with a mixture of cheers at seeing The Fabs stand tall and boos at seeing them be screwed out of their chance to be the Southwest Tag Team Champions. Boon
This is another great effort, Southwest has a very balanced squad of talent. A lot of masked men will keep the Hispanic fan base happy, and top Texan talent keeps the Texans happy. And then there's the scrubs, Stone and Wildfire shouldn't be any near a house show anywhere else in the country but they sit just fine here...
