It never ceases to amaze me how quick you can bring something together so seamlessly like you did with Mid-South and now the WWF, it's comparable to it's real life counterpart yet very much unique and unpredictable...Hogan coming should really set it up just like it did back in the day....I'm loving the league right now everyone seems to be in the right territory and really starting to hit their stride. I'm having a great time with you guys!

WWF Wrestling Challenge

Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby The Brain Heenan in studio

Matches from Allentown, PA – Agricultural Hall

Gorilla Monsoon:: Welcome everyone to WWF Wrestling Challenge. I am Gorilla Monsoon alongside Bobby the Brain Heenan. Brain, tomorrow is the big day for your boys in the World Title Tournament!

Heenan: Oh Monsoon… you don’t even know. I have brokered deals… I have signed contracts… tomorrow is going to be a HUGE day for the Heenan Family!

Gorilla: I think Sgt. Slaughter and Tony Atlas are going to have a thing or two to say about that. Fans, the World Wrestling Federation World Heavyweight Championship Tournament starts tonight and what a night it is going to be in Toronto.

Heenan: You’ve got that right… tonight in Toronto history is going to be made… Gino Hernandez is going to win back the Intercontinental Championship!

Gorilla: Don’t count those chickens before they hatch… Rick Martel is a great champion and I have no doubt he will walk out with the gold tonight. Fans we have got a prime time contest to get us going this week… it is Davey Boy Smith vs William Regal! Let’s go to the ring!

Davey Boy Smith vs William Regal w/ Lord Alfred Hayes

-This match is seen one more time and this time Davey is pretty handedly able to take apart William Regal. Lord Alfred is just screaming at Regal and we see Davey Boy finishing things off with the big POWERSLAM for the 1…2…3! We see Davey leave the ring as Lord Alfred comes in and he is not alone. Here comes the Barbarian, The Viking, and The Missing Link! It is a 3 on 1 beatdown! Gorilla and Heenan put it over as the crowd then pops when Davey Boy runs back out but he is not alone… THAT’S THE DYNAMITE KID! Gorilla exclaims that the British Bulldogs are HERE! They battle off Lord Alfred’s Army and help up Regal. Davey Boy and Dynamite help up Regal who shows his gratitude.

*COMMERCIAL*

-WC is back with Gorilla and Heenan putting over the arrival of Dynamite Kid and William Regal’s actions. Heenan puts over Lord Alfred for his choice and Gorilla says it is going to be a big one when they do battle tomorrow night on Superstars in six-man action! They turn their attention to the Family and Heenan says that he has got the surprise of a lifetime but he is going to wait until the right time to deliver on it. Gorilla says he is full of it as we go to the ring.

Rick Rude defeated Shawn Michaels

-A fun showcase contest for Rick Rude who looks very good tonight. We get a scary moment through when Rude comes off the top rope for a punch to the skull but he lands very bad on his knee. Rude is writhing in pain but he gets up and is able to finish the match with the Rude Awakening for the 1…2…3! Rude is in a bad way…

*COMMERCIAL*

-WC is back with Gorilla and Heenan putting over the injury to Rick Rude. Heenan says that Rude tore some ligaments in his knee and would be taking some time off. He puts over how there is an injury clause in his contract and with the money he made off of letting Rude go, he was able to cash in for his “BIG SURPRISE.” Gorilla still says he is full of it as they turn their attention to the tag team titles. They put over the Cage Match tomorrow night in Philly and Gorilla says that there is no way he would ever want to be locked inside a steel cage with the Koloffs, especially Nikita. Heenan talks about the experience of the Briscoess and says that experience only lasts so long against talent like Nikita. He talks about Ivan being a former world champion and that will be all that is needed for him to win the tag titles one more time! They talk about the team that is next in line… Cowboy Bob and Dirty Dick Slater… they are in action.

Cowboy Boy Orton & Dick Slater defeated Barry Horowitz & Brady Boone

-A nice contest for Bob and Dick who have turned into one of the premiere tag teams in all of wrestling right now. Bobby Heenan drops a little nutshell and says that Slater and Orton were in talks with him for management but there was someone else who came in at the last minute and possibly signed the deal. In the end we see the SPIKE PILEDRIVER for the 1…2…3 and that’s all she wrote. Orton and Slater may be next in line but when will they get the shot?

*COMMERCIAL*

Gino Hernandez: For a month I have been away from that Intercontinental Championship. Rick Martel, unlike last time, I am prepared for our match tonight and brother lemme tell you something right now I am going to take what is mine! For a month people have asked me when I am going to get it back and brother tonight is the night. I am leaving Toronto with the gold and there is NOTHING you can do about it!

Rick Martel: Gino Hernandez, I sometimes wonder if you are a hot air balloon with all the hot air you blow. There is no doubt that you are a good wrestler, but you cannot beat me and you will not beat me! Tonight, I am wrestling in front of all my hometown fans and I am going to defend this title for each and every one of them!

Before too long the Hart Foundation is going to be put together and there is NO ONE who will stop us!

THE BRITISH BULLDOGS

Mean Gene puts over the arrival of the Dynamite Kid and his joining with Davey Boy Smith as the British Bulldogs. They put over the British Bulldogs and talk about them coming up in our main event but before that we’ve got special action with Brutus Beefcake!

Brutus Beefcake defeated Kurt Von Hess

-Looks like Brutus is getting the leftovers from the Hulkster as he and Von Hess put together a simple contest tonight. Brutus doesn’t get a lot of love from the crowd as he looks good but just hasn’t clicked yet. We see the sleeper hold for the submission finish as Von Hess goes down. Dynamite Kid, Davey Boy Smith, & William Regal vs The Barbarian, The Viking, & The Missing Link w/ Lord Alfred

-A great six-man main event here tonight on Superstars. The British Bulldogs come out to a great ovation while Lord Alfred’s Army is looking pretty nasty. We get some real hard strikes from everyone involved. We see a couple of big things here as William Regal’s arm is completely destroyed by The Barbarian and the Viking outside the ring, which causes the DQ victory for the Brits. The other happening is seeing the Missing Link destroy Nick Patrick with a clothesline and he is out of control. The Bulldogs are able to fight the army to the back while Hayes, Barbarian, and the Viking walk back… Missing Link is getting escorted by security. William Regal is getting helped by medics. All hell has broken loose here. Vince and Jesse put it over in a big way as we will be live in Philly tonight for a HUGE card… don’t miss it!

Always a big plus for me when you can insert Bobby Heenan in a match. Always willing to give a good bump when needed!

I just think that when the WWF would run these loops, a nice way to get a small pop is to throw Heenan in... especially against Hogan.

The main event would of made a great addition to a Coliseum Home Video...

Nothing to do with anything, but Bobby Heenan is IMHO the all time greatest wrestling manager.

True dat

I think he is probably the most versatile character in the history of wrestling. He was soooo good at so many things... managing, wrestling, color... he was simply the best and it is so awesome to be able to use him in every facet of the game.

WWF Wrestling Challenge

Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby The Brain Heenan in studio

Matches from Poughkeepsie, NY – Mid-Hudson Civic Center

Gorilla: Welcome everyone to WWF Wrestling Challenge… I am Gorilla Monsoon alongside Bobby the Brain Heenan. Brain, just like every other week, you look a little upset today.

Bobby Heenan: Don’t even start with me Monsoon! We were robbed the other night in Philly.

Gorilla: Fans what a weekend it was, we went through the first round and I hate to admit it… but there is only one member of the Heenan Family left and his chances don’t look too good!

Heenan: Yeah we will get to that a little later… how about the Gino Hernandez winning the IC title.

Gorilla: That’s right… history was made in the Philadelphia Spectrum this past Sunday. We will have all that news and more in the event center. Right now fans, we have got a return to the WWF… he is one of the most phenomenal wrestlers… he is the SUPERFLY Jimmy Snuka!

Jimmy Snuka defeated Brady Boone

-A great return for the Superfly who looks to be in great shape. He handles Brady Boone with little or no issue as Gorilla says he would love to challenge for that IC title held by Gino Hernandez. Brain says he doesn’t have the brains to get something like that done. In the end, we see the big Superfly Splash for the 1….2…..3! The Superfly is back and he looks to be on a mission!

They put over the Barbarian and the Viking as we head to the ring.

The Barbarian & The Viking w/ Lord Alfred defeated Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty

-A great showcase for the Viking and Barbarian who just destroy these two youngsters in the ring tonight. It is not pretty whatsoever and in the end we see a helicopter throw on Michaels from the Viking leading to the 1…2…3! Lord Alfred seems to be regrouping his army… what do they have in store for the likes of Sgt. Slaughter and The British Bulldogs?

Slaughter as contenders for Hernandez not to mention Rick Martel getting a shot down the line. Gino doesn’t seem to mind about those challengers as SD Jones gives him a nice match but in the end it is the hot shot suplex followed by the middle rope elbow for the 1…2….3! Gino works the crowd and Gorilla says he has a long list of challengers for that title! Who will be the man to take the title from him?

Matches from Poughkeepsie, NY – Mid-Hudson Civic Center

Vince McMahon: Welcome everyone to WWF Superstars! I am Vince McMahon alongside Jesse the Body Ventura! Jesse, we have got a huge match up here tonight… the World Tag Team Titles will be on the line with the Briscoess taking Bob Orton & Dick Slater.

Jesse: This is going to be one of the biggest matches on Superstars McMahon and I think there is a title change in the air.

Vince: I think a lot of people feel the same way but the Briscoe Brothers are two of the toughest competitors in the world of wrestling and they may just pull it out.

Jesse: Right McMahon, we will see… what I want to talk about is the World Title tournament. My pick won his match last night and he’s headed to East Rutherford New Jersey this Saturday night and I think he will be in MSG Sunday for the Title!

Bret Hart & Jim Nedhart defeated Kurt Von Hess & Brady Boone

-A nice opening contest for Bret and Jim who have been teaming together more recently due to Davey Boy teaming up with Dynamite. We get to see these two work off of one another nicely and in the end they hit Von Hess with a nasty PowerSlam by Neidhart and then a middle rope elbow from Bret for the 1…..2…3! Vince really puts over the tag team divison and how everything could change right here tonight!

We cut to the ring for this big contest!

WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

The Briscoe Brothers © vs Cowboy Bob Orton & Dirty Dick Slater

-A huge main event as these four men get a little bit of time in the ring. It is about a 12-mintue affair and it is solid and smooth tag team wrestling. Vince McMahon puts over the experience and history of these four men wrestling throughout the country. We see Slater and Orton get the upperhand and advantage but the Briscoess come back with a great fire. Out of nowhere we see someone coming down to the ring… THAT’S JIMMY HART! He throws the Megaphone in to Orton who NAILS Jack Briscoes right between the eyes and he is busted open! The referee calls for the bell as Jimmy Hart is in there calling the shots. Jesse puts over how he is the one who got the contract for these guys and Vince doesn’t like the looks of this alliance with Orton and Slater! The titles may have not changed hands, but there is definitely more to come with these guys. Jesse and Vince put over the big night’s action in Los Angeles tonight… results will come to you from Wrestling Challenge next week!
