jushin muta liger
I didn't know where to put this so I started a new thread here. This is something I was finally looking for. CCTV sat down with Aja Kong to talk to her about growing up in Japan being mixed race in English and about her career. It was posted in January. Here's the description from the video. This episode of Assignment Asia brings you three stories about identity. First, the story of a musical duo of brothers whose parents come from very different backgrounds the result of which is reflected in the diversity of their music. Then we meet a professional Japanese female wrestler known by many as Aja Kong. She tells us her story about growing up as a mixed-race child in Japan and transforming herself into a powerful role model.
El-P
Great stuff. Thanks. Aja seems to be someone you'd like to hear a 3 hour shoot interview not only about pro-wrestling, but life in general. (Amazingly, she looks exactly the same as she did 20 years ago (and baby Erika was quite cute))

Her talking about how the AJW office wanted her to be a heel made me want to know about other things that went down in her career.
El-P
I remember a reportage on French TV around 1991 or so which was about japanese female wrestlers, and there was a young Aja Kong and Bull Nakano in there. I would LOVE to find this somewhere, as I wonder how the whole thing was treated (probably as if it was real). I remember vividly watching Bull dropping the legdrop from the top of a cage at the end of the story, and I was amazed as I was just watching WWF Superstars at the time (no PPV yet were shown on french TV). But yeah, Aja/Erika would probably be a fascinating interview.
