LowBlowPodcast
Much like I did for the Paul Boesch tag team tournament, I am going to make this the "HYPE" Thread for WrestleMania and post the show on here along with special announcements, news, and rumors. I think for a "BIG" event like this and Starrcade or Superclash, they deserve a little extra recognition and exposure. Hope you guys enjoy all the little extras going into this... LowBlowPodcast
From the sheets... Some rumored matches include a six-man with Tony Atlas & The Machines taking on Harley Race & The Faces of Fear... a bodyslam match with Andre vs Bundy. There is even talk of a Japanese star coming in to take on Brutus Beefcake as a favor to Hulk Hogan. The tag title match should be a rematch of the Bulldogs taking on the Russians while Randy Savage is expected to defend the title against Harley Race, Jake Roberts, or even Gino Hernandez in a rematch. SirEdger
I don't know if it's a typo on your part but does this mean that Harley Race will pull double duty at Wrestlemania?

LowBlowPodcast
-With the top three matches signed, the rest of the card will begin to take shape in coming weeks. One match that has been heavily talked about is a tag team encounter with the Fantastics and the Hart Foundation. There is talk of Tito Santana and Andre the Giant taking on Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake. WWF officials have also reached out to Antonio Inoki to have him come in to face either Harley Race or King Kong Bundy...
LowBlowPodcast
-There is a lot of discussion right now regarding the King Harley Race vs Andre the Giant match. The two men have known one another for quite some time and it should be a fun match... however will the crown be on the line? If so... who is going down? Good luck figuring that one out. - Tito vs Valentine is set to either be the end of this big feud that has been going on since December or just another page to keep the house show matches hot. They are set to be involved in the IC title hunt over the summer. - There are expected to be three more matches announced... the heavily rumored match is that of the Fantastics v the Hart Foundation... some expect that one to open the show. -Another big feud that has all but blown off... but there are many within the WWF who think that Bruno is going to use his pull to get a match for David on the card. I was wondering, since you have such a stacked roster is there going to be a battle royal to get all of the wrestlers on the card?
LowBlowPodcast
March 20th, 1985 -The WWF has just signed over 40 cities nationwide to show WrestleMania on closed circuit. This means that you an head down to your local theater (if they are hosting) and watch the event as it unfolds in Madison Square Garden. Other key markets have begun to follow suite and it is said that over 100 cities may be broadcasting the show when it airs in just 11 days. -On markets throughout the country, special promos have been sent to highlight some of the top matches... here is a preview of some of those promos. WWF CHAMPIONSHIP Roddy Piper: WrestleMania… biggest event in the history of this here sport and who is right at the top… Roddy Piper… Main Event Material. You know a lot of people don’t understand what this feud with Hulk Hogan is really all about. They talk about the WWF Championship… man I wouldn’t mind having that extra little gold and money… but it isn’t about the title… Hogan it is about RESPECT! For far too long have the men like you not given the men like me the respect I deserve and boy I am going to beat it out of you in front of millions of people and there just isn’t anything you can do about it! Hulk Hogan: Well I guess the time for talking is almost to an end but just enough time for me to tell the world exactly what I am going to do to you Roddy Piper. You see for months now you have tried to get the better of me but to no avail dude. You are looking at the biggest arms in the world and brother after all the low down and dirty things you have tried to do to me it is time for payback… and brother I am coming with a crate full of it. For unleashing the mighty Kamala… all the interference… you Roddy Piper are going to get exactly what is coming to you and all my Hulkamaniacs out there get to see it live and in living color! WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP Jake Roberts: I guess it is just a matter of time before we step into that ring Randy Savage and see exactly who has what it takes. Randy Savage: Freak out… FREAK OUT…. OHHHH YEAAAAH!!! Jake Roberts wants to talk about filling me with DDT brother I am filled with the MADNESS ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP! Now at WrestleMania… I am going to have ice water running through my veins and brother I am going to EXPLODE everywhere… and in doing soo…. LowBlowPodcast
-There is a lot of hype right now with the WrestleMania card being fully announced and just how it will all go down in Madison Square Garden. There are many who feel that a 3-hour live show will be fun for the crowd but those in closed circuit may complain. The WWF is hoping to have special "rewards" and "gifts" for those who do attend closed circuit including WrestleMania T-Shirt give aways, commemorative mugs, and even signed photos. The reward system is set for those who send their close circuit ticket will be a signed WrestleMania Program by Hulk Hogan. This is said to be a major ploy incentive to get people to the theaters to check out the show. -There are some who have said that there is no way Roddy Piper will do the job for Hogan on such a big stage. Some rumors floating around are of New Japan regulars like Fujinami or Inoki getting involved to set up a big WWF vs Japan feud or even reviving the WWF and All Japan partnership with Tenryu or Jumbo getting involved to halt the main event. -There is talk of unmasking the Machines but many feel as though their mystery has a lot of appeal and could lead to big money down the line. -Gino Hernandez and Chris Adams are already talking about taking the WWF titles to Japan and winning titles there even though they haven't beaten the Bulldogs. With the Mexican titles... this could be huge for a team that many feel has the making to be the best in the business in 1985.

gordi
Did Hogan ever host SNL in real life? I don't remember. Rock and Cena both have done really well in that role recently. Edit; Wow.
