Hosted by Charlie Platt and David Crockett

Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Champion - Gama Singh

Smoky Mountain Tag Team Champions - The Karachi Puraa's (Mulkan Singh and Vulkan Singh)

A new opening video for Smoky Mountain Wrestling airs this week with the new title of Power Hour, we zoom in on Charlie Platt who isn’t joined by his regular partner Les Thatcher this week. Charlie Platt welcomes the fans to the show, he tells the fans that although the name of the program has changed, the action is just as good. Platt goes on to address the absence of Les Thatcher and tells the audience Thatcher has been promoted to head of television but not too worry as he will be joined by someone else this week. Charlie Platt continues with some more exciting news that Smoky Mountain Wrestling has officially joined the National Wrestling Alliance and with that exciting news, Charlie Platt welcomes his new broadcast partner, David Crockett. David Crockett walks out and shakes Charlie hand and officially welcomes Charlie Platt and Smoky Mountain Wrestling to the NWA, Charlie thanks Crockett, and says it great to be a part of the world’s greatest governing body. From the side of the studio walks over The Flame along with the Infernos, Charlie Platt asks The Flame if he’s happy with himself after he threw fire into the eyes of Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler in their match this past Monday, The Flame just chuckles, Platt informs the audience and the Flame that Lawler is still in hospital getting treatment and its unknown if he’ll be able to see again. The Flame just laughs this off and turns his attention to David Crockett, he asks him how Ric Flair is doing? And when he’s bringing the NWA World Title to Knoxville so he can take it off him, David Crockett replies by saying the champ is very busy but I’m sure he’ll make an appearance before too long. The opening match this week see’s The Flame, Fire and Torch defeat Larry Hamilton, Josh Stroud and Ron Ritchie in 4 minutes following The Flame hitting a Samoan Drop on Stroud and covers him for the 3 count.

=== Commercial ===

We return with Tommy Wright and Steve Gatorwolf in the ring as they await there opponents, when some rock n roll music hits and Robert Gibson and Ricky Morton run down to the ring to massive amounts of fanfare. The bell rings and the action is under way, the match goes about 3 minutes when the Rock N Roll Express hit a double drop kick on Gatorwolf and Gibson gets the pin for the victory. After the match, Gibson and Morton walk over to Platt and Crockett when Ron Wright and the Orient Express walk out clapping their hands. Ron Wright tells the Rock N Rolls that they were lucky this past Monday and they want a rematch this week, Gibson and Morton accept and the match is set for this Monday in Knoxville.

=== Run down of this week’s action coming to Smoky Mountain area ===

Following the commercial break Charlie Platt and David Crockett are joined by Ron Starr, Starr tells the announcers that he never lost this week to Ken Lucas and shouldn’t be 1 zero down in their best of 5 series, but it doesn’t matter because he’s still going to win and become the number 1 contender to the Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Title, Charlie Platt reminds Ron Starr that although he didn’t give up, he did pass out while in Ken Lucas sleeper hold. Ron Starr tells Platt to shut up and gets into the ring to face off with his opponent Mike Jackson. As soon as the bell rings, Ron Starr charges at Jackson and just starts mauling him, he’s attack is relentless, in the end referee Paul Morton throws the match out and disqualifies Starr in 2 minutes. Starr continues his attack until Ken Lucas storms out to the ring, Starr quickly escapes and makes his way to the back, shouting at Lucas saying that’ll be him come Monday. Ken Lucas checks on Jackson, when Starr sneaks back out and attacks Lucas while his back is turned. The attack continues until the locker room empties to separates Starr from Jackson and Lucas.

=== Commercial ===

After the break, Charlie Platt gives an update on Mike Jackson and Ken Lucas after their attack from Ron Starr, staying both should be okay. In the ring we have The Heartbreakers, Tony Falk and Steven Dunn. Out comes Lou Albano with his Wild Hogg’s, Lou Albano joins Platt and Crockett for commentary while the match goes ahead. Albano addresses The Puraa’s and his Hogg’s tag team title match this week and that he doesn’t agree with Gama Singh and his actions towards Don Kernodle and he promises the fans that the Wild Hogg’s will relive the champs of their belts this Monday in Knoxville. Back in the ring the Hogg’s get the victory with double axe handle smash from JR Hogg to Falk and gets the win in 4 minutes. Charlie Platt says the Wild Hogg’s look like they mean business.

=== Run down of this week’s action coming to Smoky Mountain area ===

We return with this week’s main event, which see’s Ricky Vaughan and Brian Adias against The Karachi Puraa’s, Mulkan and Vulkan Singh. The tag team champions are joined as always by the new Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Champion and their leader Gama Singh, who now has 3 belts wrapped around his waist. Singh joins Platt and Crockett to the action. The match is a competitive match with both teams getting near fall’s, around the ten minute mark, Vaughan and Adias are building a lot of momentum and look closer to getting the win when Gama pulls the referee out of the ring as Adias has a pinful attempt denied, the referee throws the match out. This gives the Karachi Puraa’s a chance to attack and it’s a 3 on 2 beat down on Ricky Vaughan and Brian Adias until from the back with a United States flag over his shoulder charges the ring its Don Kernodle. Kernodle cleans house. Kernodle gets on the house mic and says Singh will never laid that dirty Pakistan flag down on anyone again because he’s taking his title back this Monday night. David Crockett comments on the wild action, as Charlie Platt closes out the show.

Good return of SMW. There is a lot of potential within the group of guys you have here and then the subsequent freelancers and relationships you have with the promoters to run bigger shows.

In regards to rosters... I think we all have a little bit of fat to trim and send your way... I will be in touch and perhaps give you something more to work with...

Gama Singh, with his Smoky Mountain Heavyweight title around his waist, asks Don Kernodle to join him in the ring, Don Kernodle reluctantly makes his way to the ring, Gama says that this American hero is an honourable man and will stick to his agreement. Gama welcomes Kernodle into the ring and says before we get started he needs to address something first, he asks Vulkan and Mulkan to come towards him, Gama slaps both, he goes on to say how disappointed he is with them for losing their titles, and if they don’t regain them this week then it won’t be worth living, Gama slaps them again and sends them back to the corner. Kernodle tells Gama to hurry up with what he’s got planned, Gama turns to Kernodle and reminds him that to be a part of the Puraa’s he needs to be patience and disciplined, he calls for Mulkan and Vulkan to bring him over a bag, in the bag is traditional Arabic dress, which both Mulkan and Vulkan are wearing. Gama Singh tells Kernodle to put it on, Kernodle refuses much to the dismay of Gama, Singh says he isn’t used to people refusing him, but he knows Kernodle is new to the Puraa’s so will let it go. Kernodle refuses again, Gama looks at the Puraa’s and they attack Don Kernodle, Gama then orders Mulkan and Vulkan Singh to remove Kernodle American clothing and dress him the clothing he wants him in, Gama personally puts the head dress onto Kernodle as the Puraa’s holds up a beaten Kernodle. Gama comments on how much better he looks, at this point Ricky Vaughan and Brian Adias come out, Vaughan says he’s seen enough of this, he says if Singh continues to humiliate an American war hero then they will get involved, Singh there isn’t any need to turn this into violence, he says Kernodle is an honourable man and he lost a valiant battle last monday, but he’s a business man and he’s willing to make a deal, this Monday you can fight for Kernodle’s freedom and if they can beat him and Kernodle in a tag team match Kernodle will be free, Vaughan and Aidas are quick to agree, Gama tells them to hold on, but if Kernodle doesn’t fight like he did last Monday against him, he will have to retire.

I just find this so fun to read. So many twists and turns keeps me on the edge of my seat. Really makes me wonder if it is the roster that is important or the writer. Many of us have rosters that are historically better but this is such a cool addition to the project.

At this point a giant man walks to ringside, this is the same man who attacked Adias and Vaughan last Monday. Gama introduces everyone to Boomer Lynch, Singh continues to describe Lynch as the Karachi Puraa’s Insurance Policy, he is here to right the wrongs, and with that Lynch attacks both Vulkan and Mulkan, Gama joins in the attack and orders Kernodle to join in. After a minute or so of beat down Gama calls a halt to the attack, and tells Mulkan and Vulkan they are done with the Karachi Puraa’s, they must go back to their poor American ways, and this Monday Boomer and Kernodle will do what they couldn’t and win back the tag team titles. After the match, Starr joins David Crockett and Charlie Platt, Platt asks Starr about his shady victory this week over Ken Lucas and going 2 a piece in the best of 5 series. Starr laughs off this comment acting as if he doesn’t know what Platt is talking about and says he won fair and square, and this week he will take the series and the upcoming heavyweight title match. Ken Lucas comes steaming out and confronts Ron Starr, Lucas says he knows exactly that happen last Monday and he’s just got off the phone to Les Thatcher and this week’s match is a Tennessee Death Match and he promises he’s getting that he’s getting the win. Back in the ring Wright men destroy their opponents in 6 minutes, when Stomper submitted Ritchie in a bearhug, in a match that could of finished much earlier, but Ron Wright wanted his men to make a statement.

=== Run down of this week’s action coming to Smoky Mountain area ===

Following the break Tommy Wright and The Shadow (Steven Dunn under a mask) are in the ring ready to face off with the new team in the area Johnny and Davey, the Rich Cousins. === Commercial ===

We return with today’s main event. The Infernos are in the ring with the Flame on the outside, when The Rock N Roll Express come running to the ring to screams from the young girls in the crowd. The match starts and the Express are on fire, Fire and Torch just can’t keep with the younger faster Express team of Robert Gibson and Ricky Morton. The match goes for roughly 10 minutes when The Flame gets involved in the match just when it looks like the Rock N Roll Express have the win in their sights, but the plan back fires when The Flame accidently hits Fire and knocks him out of the ring. Gibson and Morton then hit double drop kicks to Torch and Flame to the outside. Referee Jerry Caulhon throws the match out and declares the Rock N Roll Express as winners, the Express are daring the Infernos to come back into the ring, then from behind Tommy Lane and Mike Davis jump Gibson and Morton. The Infernos jump into the ring and there is a 5 on 2 beat down of the Rock N Roll Express until from the back comes the returning Memphis Vice, Lou Winston and Jerry Bryant who were injured by The Infernos several weeks ago. The Memphis try and balance out the numbers, but the Rock N Roll RPM’s and The Infernos are too much, when from the stage door bursts open, and its JERRY THE KING LAWLER, the crowd goes wild, Lawler piles into the ring and is hitting everyone with big rights and lefts, The King clears the ring. Lawler has been out of action for weeks following The Flame throwing a fire ball into his eyes. Lawler says that if the Infernos and the fake Rock N Roll Express want to fight then they will see them on Monday night for a 5 on 5 tag match, The Flame is shocked Lawler is back as they head to the back with the Infernos and RPMs.

Great use of the freelancers here. You are getting a lot out of names that might not be as household as the rest of the rosters but I think that proves how interesting the sport of wrestling is. Who ever is the top heel and face in a territory will get the heat or the cheers like they are Andre the Giant if developed correctly and you are doing just that. Ron Starr, Brian Adias and others are becoming wrestling stars here and it is a great read from week to week.

Thank s for the feedback guys. There was a couple of bits I really wanted to do with the Lucas-Starr feud, firstly put over the Sleeper (4 of the 5 matches in the series ended with the sleeper) as a killer move and secondly build Ron Starr as a star against a territory legend like Lucas and push him on, now he lost the feud so you guys will have to see where this goes.
