Bigelow34
Jeff Machado and JT Rozzero are best friends but Jeff has never been a wrestling fan… until now. With decades of wrestling history to catch up on, JT is leading Jeff’s completely clean slate on an educational journey through the wonderful story of professional wrestling. In episode one, the boys cover the very basics of pro wrestling, how the WWF came to be, how awesome Jesse Ventura was, the greatness of Andre the Giant, the birth and death of the Mega Powers, comparisons between Miss Elizabeth and Michelle Obama, the point of tag team wrestling and much, much more. So, join us on Jeff’s journey to learn all about pro wrestling, get sidetracked with us on many tangents and have a bunch of laughs along the way! http://placetobenation.com/jeff-learns-wrestling-1-basics-of-the-business-jesse-ventura-the-mega-powers-more/
BigBadMick
20 minutes in to this. You're doing good, Justin. Really daunting prospect, for both you and Jeff. I'd have no idea where to start with a novice.
Bigelow34
Thanks Mick! I am really excited about it, very different than anything I have ever done for sure and me and Jeff have an easy chemistry.
Laz
LOVE this. I'm anticipating Jeff seeing ECW for the first time and his reaction. It's also exciting to have something good finally come out of RI.

Phil Austin
This is my new favourite podcast. Love this concept, and hearing a newbie genuinely trying to understand all the parts of wrestling that we take for granted is fascinating. Already looking forward to episode two: "Jeff Learns Mecha Mummy"
Bigelow34
Thanks Phil! He even shocked me with some of the stuff he asked... was quite the experience. Episode two coming late this week, we are expanding the horizons slightly!
ChosenOne
I've done something similar with my girlfriend, just having her watch random shows and report her reaction/thoughts. I look forward to more of this.

Laz
Loving this show, guys. Jeff's starting to form a real opinion on this stuff, and it's obvious he's starting to become a fan.

Bigelow34
Jeff Machado and JT Rozzero are best friends but Jeff has never been a wrestling fan… until now. With decades of wrestling history to catch up on, JT is leading Jeff’s completely clean slate on an educational journey through the wonderful story of professional wrestling. In episode three, the boys head to the Carolinas to introduce Jeff to the world of the NWA where they discuss the differences in presentation between JCP and WWF, what makes Ric Flair great, the appeal of Dusty Rhodes, Ronnie Garvin’s punches, blood, Magnum TA’s penis, whether or not Tully Blanchard is a giant pussy, the greatness of 1980s Russia and much, much more. Britwresdvds
I've tried this one, but just can't get into it, sorry to say. I turned off about two thirds through the second episode.
Bigelow34
Jeff's comments and observations are fascinating. Thanks Allan, glad you enjoyed. I am looking forward to how long it takes for some of this stuff to really click for him.

I am looking forward to how long it takes for some of this stuff to really click for him. In hindsight, if you'd exposed him to JCP before WWF do you think his initial reaction to the JCP presentation would have been different? Bigelow34
I asked him that (either at the end of the episode or off air) and he said he doesn't think so because he just didn't like the overall presentation as much. But I do think it may have helped.
Laz
If you ever do a Jeff Learns Wrestking tee, the first one has to be a cartoon of Jeff as an old man lying on a bed, snow globe in hand, with the speech bubble saying "Tully Blanchard's a Pussy." Love this series.
Bigelow34
Lol! That is a fantastic idea... he is going to love it. And thanks! The feedback has been so amazing and the show is a blast to do.
Lust Hogan
Love the show! I started with episode 3 and then went back to the 1st two because it was so good. I almost fell out off my chair when Jeff compared Flair to Matt Damon. I immediately thought of Parv and at some point it would be cool to have guests pop in with match recommendations to see what Jeff thinks. Great job!!! BTW I think this format would be GREAT for lucha (See GWE). That seems to be a blind spot for a lot of people and I could see that working. Can't wait for Jeff seeing ECW or puro! Bigelow34
Thanks Lust! Been having a blast doing the show for sure and the feedback has all been great. Going to be a couple weeks until ep4 as Jeff is on vacation but we will dive back in soon. And yes it is a really cool concept that could be used in various ways. Lust Hogan
That stinks (Just kidding!) I wonder how Jeff would react to Memphis? It has the absurdity of the WWF and the grittiness of JCP. Question: What is your match selection process for this project? What determines what Jeff will watch? Just curious....
Richeyedwards
I can just see parv Asphyxiating at the flair discussion. I really like the show with some really fun stuff and this is a hell of an undertaking. I loved your realisation that all this lingo you use and facts you take for granted as a fan are completely alien to a new fan.

Right now it is me coming up with a general timeline with an assist from Chad. Trying to catch all the key angles/stories/matches with some other randomness mixed in.
