C.S.
*Raises hand* I've been e-wrestling in some form since the mid-'90s, and other than a couple of breaks for health or real life issues, I've never really stopped. Is this something anyone else still does? Have any of you thought about it in years? I sort of feel like the Last of the Mohicans over here. If anyone is interested, I know a couple of e-feds that are looking for people. I help book one of them and I run a character in the other. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, basically it works like this: There are shows every couple of weeks, and you write roleplays (think of wrestler promos) discussing your match on the next show, who you're feuding with, your storyline, etc. You can also submit angles for the show (i.e. "Attack Wrestler A after his or her match."). It's great fun as long as you don't let your ego get too wrapped up in it and take every loss personally - sometimes there are storyline losses, losses to set up something else down the road, etc. - just like real wrestling. To me, it's an awesome outlet for writing, creativity, making good buddies, you name it. I've known some of the wild and wacky people I've met through the game for over two decades now. Winning titles or booking a show everyone loves is awesome fun, of course, but I stay for the friendships and camaraderie. PM me or reply here if you're interested, and I'll tell you who to contact, etc. Or just post your own e-wrestling memories below... I'm genuinely curious if anyone else still does it or has in years.
JHawk
Ran one for nearly ten years, had characters for about 15. Haven't done it or thought about it except for a one shot in about eight years. I always enjoyed the absurd in e-wrestling though. One time we had two guys work together to do an "Iron Chef Match" at the height of Iron Chef's popularity. Amazing stuff.

I know how much work goes into them. You might like the feds I'm involved in. Definitely not afraid to be absurd at times. PM me if you're thinking of jumping back into the hobby. Mad Dog
I played the IWA for a few months a couple of years ago. Yes, it's still around. I haven't done the e-fed thing for a really long time. I just don't seem to have the attention span for them despite good intentions. I ran one for about 3 years at the height of the Monday Night Wars.
The Thread Killer
I was really into in e-fedding for a long time. I was a member of The Shoot Project for years, and ran my own fed for a couple of years as well. I always played in feds that used original characters, not established or existing wrestlers. I handled the same original character for around 10 years, believe it or not. My experience was that you need a committed roster of around 25 players to make a fed workable and it got to the point where that got impossible to maintain after a while. You need players who are willing to put in the work, and not just write promos but help with matches, etc. Most of the people I wrote with "grew out of it" and fell off. The ones who are left are still with a fed called the EWA and I've come close a few times to picking it up again with them, but I never have. I love writing fiction and I love wrestling so it always was a great creative outlet for me, I miss it at times. I don't know if I could do it again due to my weird work schedule (I work a 12 hour continental shift pattern) so I don't know if I could meet the deadlines that usually come with e-fedding. Laz
Fellow SHOOT Soldier here. Been doing it off and on since 1999 or so. Most recently I handled a tag team where one half was a super annoying artist type and the other a Worcester thug and low level mob muscle. Bonus points: it was in the EWA mentioned above, where a lot of ex-SHOOT guys went. So if you ever get that bug again, TTK, that place is a good one. Ross and Michael are super flexible on schedules and I never had a problem working with anybody there.
