Edwin Posted January 23, 2020 Report Posted January 23, 2020 Hércules has been struggling with health complications for some years now and unfortunately his wife and El Profe have confirmed he passed away this morning.
khawk20 Posted January 23, 2020 Report Posted January 23, 2020 RIP. A real favourite of mine back in the day, an imposing figure to see in the ring live, and one of those guys that was big in some places but never ventured to any of the big 3, possibly by his own choice.
SirEdger Posted January 23, 2020 Report Posted January 23, 2020 He also ventured a bit in Montreal in the dying days of Lutte Internationale when Gino Brito was counting on his working relationship with World Wrestling Council to keep the territory running. I believe that Ayala also was the last International champion but I'd have to dig up in the archives to be sure.
khawk20 Posted January 23, 2020 Report Posted January 23, 2020 International is where I saw him live. Also I think Abdullah was he last champ, they did the switch at every stop in the circuit from what I recall
SirEdger Posted January 23, 2020 Report Posted January 23, 2020 And after verification, you're correct. Abdullah fought Ayala over the vacant title when Dr. D David Schultz left the promotion. Ayala never won the title.
Boss Rock Posted January 25, 2020 Report Posted January 25, 2020 Very sad. I loved the Colon feud in WWC.
