Jimmy Jack Punk
PWF TV Episode #1 Airing on 11/9/89 The Sportatorium Tampa, Florida Hosts: Jim Ross & Joe Pedicino Show opens with Jim Ross and Joe Pedicino sitting behind that familiar desk from Florida wrestling in the past. Ross welcomes everyone to the debut episode of the Professional Wrestling Federation and he promises some great action in the upcoming hour. Pedicino chimes in that they will soon be crowning champions here in the PWF and says we’ll hear more details on that in this broadcast. Ross pitches it to the ring for the opening bout. Match One- The New Breed (Chris Champion/Sean Royal) vs. The Southern Rockers (Rex King/Steve Doll) Ross lets us know that Doll & King are a brand new team here in Florida having wrestled in other territories with other partners previously, he acknowledges the New Breed’s past success as a tag team and mentions they competed in the Crockett Cup this year. The New Breed seem to be the heels, but they aren’t overly leaning into that role at this point in the match. A fun fast paced match to open the TV show that sees the New Breed steal a win when Champion pinned Rex King with his feet on the ropes! They got a lot of boos leaving the ring as the show went to commercial. COMMERCIAL BREAK When we return from the commercial break, Pedicino is joined by Sir Oliver Humperdink who is flanked by the Great Kabuki and a trio of guys wearing camo army outfits with Commando style black grease paint stripes across their face (Ross interjects on commentary that these men appear to be Fidel Sierra, Doug Gilbert, and Ron Starr) Humperdink says the Mercenaries have a match today against Kendall Windham and the Rich Cousins, Johnny and Davey and that we will see just how dangerous these men are, and why THEY will be taking home the tag team titles in the upcoming tournament. Hump also says that everyone who has ever witnessed Kabuki in the ring already knows how dangerous he is, but if anyone needs reminded….they soon will be very soon! Before going to the ring for the next match. Jim Ross talks while a graphic appears on screen promoting ‘Thanksgiving Homecoming’ coming up on Thanksgiving night at the Fairgrounds here in Tampa and he announces there will be a one night single elimination 16 man tournament to crown the PWF Heavyweight Champion and next week we will learn who many of those participants will be! MATCH TWO- Dory Funk Jr. vs. Thunderfoot #1 Funk gets a smattering of applause as the bell rings and he attempts to shake hands with Thunderfoot to start the match to no avail as Thunderfoot slaps his hand away. Ross puts over the rich history of the Funk family on commentary and tells of Dory Jr being a former World Champion. He announces that Dory will in fact be competing in the tournament on Thanksgiving night for the championship. Pedicino mentions that some of the top talent from across America are looking to compete here in the PWF. Before they can say much more, Funk submits Thunderfoot with the spinning toe hold. As Dory Funk Jr is leaving ringside, a familiar face to most wrestling fans, Precious makes her way over to the desk as Ross politely mentions she isn’t on the format and asks “how can we help you”? Precious tells him, “don’t be condescending, you know who I am, and all these people know who I am!” She goes on to say that she’s here to let everyone know that “Gorgeous Jimmy” is on his way to Florida and that she wants to enter him in the PWF Championship tournament. Ross informs her that she needs to “speak to Mr. Matsuda about such matters, we’re not the matchmakers.” Precious threatens to “slap his face off” for “getting smart” with her. Security takes Precious by the arm and escorts her out of the Sportatorium. Ross apologizes for the “interruption” and pitches to another commercial. COMMERCIAL BREAK As we’re coming out of the commercial break we get a pre-recorded promo from Joe Pedicino promoting a card next Saturday night in St. Petersburg featuring a one night 8 team tournament to crown the PWF Tag Team Champions featuring: The Rock & Roll RPMs, The New Breed, Johnny & Davey Rich, “Hollywood” John Tatum & Jack Victory w/Dark Journey, The Southern Rockers, and more! MATCH THREE- The Great Kabuki w/Sir Oliver Humperdink vs. Charlie Pitts Kabuki sprays the green mist into the air before the match starts. Ross & Pedicino put over what a dangerous man Kabuki is and discuss the different forms of martial arts he’s mastered. They also spend some time talking about Humperdink’s history in Florida over the years as meanwhile Kabuki is just dismantling this inexperienced kid right out of Matsuda’s “training academy” which they plug as well. Kabuki tires of toying with the rookie and puts him away with the ‘asiatic spike’. Humperdink yells incoherently into the camera as we go to another break. COMMERCIAL BREAK We return to a video set to the tune of the Fat Boys song, ‘Wipe Out’. We pan across a beach when into the frame comes a VERY large man wearing an orange bucket hat, a floral print Hawaiian shirt, and Bermuda shorts. The camera follows him as he’s walking along a pier. The music lowers as a skinny kid approaches him and says, “Sup Dude, what’s your name?” He replies, “They call me, Cannonball Grizzly”. The kid says, “Why do they call you that?” Grizzy smiles and says “Hold my hat”....he runs to the edge of the pier towards a bunch of people swimming and yells “CANNONBALL” as he bails off into the water making a huge splash! The camera pans back and a graphic reads, (“Son of the Beach” Cannonball Grizzly is on his way to the PWF) MATCH FOUR- “High Chief” Sivi Afi vs. Robbie Rose Ross and Pedicino really sing the praises of Sivi Afi and build him up as a big deal and really put over the “High Chief” moniker. This was a relatively short match that eventually saw Afi put away Rose with a splash off the top rope. Ross mentions that Afi is a “heavy favorite” in the PWF Heavyweight title tournament. We see another promo for ‘Thanksgiving Homecoming’ on Thanksgiving night at Tampa Fairgrounds and then cut to Joe Pedicino who is with Kendall Windham. Windham says that he and the Rich Cousins are going to shut down Humperdink’s Mercenaries coming up next. He also mentions he has his sights set on the PWF Heavyweight Championship and that he has a legacy to live up to and that he will stop at nothing to rise to the sames heights that his Father and Brother did, right here in Florida! COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH SIX- MAIN EVENT- SIX MAN TAG TEAM ACTION Johnny & Davey Rich/Kendall Windham vs. The Mercenaries (“Dirty” Doug Gilbert/”Rotten” Ron Starr/”Assassin” Fidel Sierra) w/Sir Oliver Humperdink Jim Ross points out that Ron Starr is the most experienced man in this match and clearly the “captain” of his team. He speculates that Johnny Rich is the more experienced man on his side of the ring. The match starts off very fast paced with the babyfaces tagging in and out frequently and getting the better of things until Starr distracted referee Mickey Jay allowing Humperdink to trip Davey Rich which Gilbert quickly took advantage of, giving the Mercenaries control of the match, they did a good job of “cutting the ring off” not allowing Davey Rich to get the tag. After several minutes of “heat”, Rich managed to leapfrog over Starr and get a tag to Kendall Windham who came in “like a house of fire”! All six men ended up in the ring, as the referee struggled to restore order, Humperdink jumped up on the ring apron, this allowed Kabuki to slide in and spew the green “mist” into the eyes of Windham, allowing Starr to give him a school boy roll up as Hump got down off the ring and the referee turned around in time to count the 1-2-3! Ross incredulously yells, “the House of Humperdink stole this one, Joe! Is this the kinda thing we have to look forward to with this bunch?” Joe replied, “If past history is any evidence I would say we have a LOT more of this kinda thing in the future unless we can get someone in here who keep some kinda order!” Ross: “Well folks, I guess that remains to be seen. Thanks for joining us for the inaugural episode of the PWF and we’ll see you back here next week for more action…right here from the Sunshine State!”
rainmakerrtv
Glad to see you back. Great start, awesome chaotic ending. Can't see where you go from here.
Autistic Dragon
The New Breed steal the first win in PWF. Hoss with a solid showing. Precious shows up and immediately makes a scene. I like that PWF is wasting no time establishing tournaments to crown their champions. Interesting angle for Grizzly. The High Chief is looking strong. This episode did a great job setting up how dangerous the House of Humperdinck is. PWF is off to a strong start.
spaldoni
It's so great to have you back! It's also great to have Florida back in the game. I'm sure you'll set the territory on fire. New Breed is the team to watch. It's Florida, so you have to have Humperdink and Kabuki. Dory brings immediate credibility. COOL! Can't wait to see Precious and Jimmy Jam strut their stuff. A lot of big name teams gunning for the gold. Hahahaha love Cannonball's new persona. Fits well here. I always liked writing for Afi. This is a place he could really shine. Thanks to Kabuki's deadly mist, Humperdink's men steal the main event. Looking forward to the crowning of the first champ. I can see a few names holding the strap. This is going to be a lot of fun. Jimmy Jack Punk
PWF TV Episode #2 Airing on 11/16/89 The Sportatorium Tampa, Florida Hosts: Jim Ross & Joe Pedicino Show opens with highlights from last week’s main event with Kabuki spewing the green mist into the eyes of Kendall Windham allowing him to get rolled up by Ron Starr to score a win for Sir Oliver Humperdink’s Mercenaries! We then see the opening montage and join Jim Ross and Joe Pedicino at the desk in the Sportatorium in Tampa. Ross welcomes us once again to the PWF and lets us know that as a result of what happened here last week, in this week’s main event we’ll see Kendall Windham taking on the Great Kabuki with Sir Oliver Humperdink! Pedicino chimes in that Dark Journey will have her tag team of “Hollywood” John Tatum and Jack Victory in action this week, we’ll also see the in-ring debut of “Son of the Beach” Cannonball Grizzly, plus there’s going to be a four corners match to crown a PWF Junior Heavyweight Champion as it will be Denny Brown vs. Mando Guerrero vs. Scott Armstrong vs. Mike Graham and that should be outstanding. Ross adds that this week, Precious who barged in last week unannounced has actually been granted time this week to speak to us about whatever it is that’s on her mind. Then he pitches it to the ring. MATCH ONE- Joe Lightfoot vs. Thunderfoot Joe Pedicino jokingly mentions the show is kicking off with a “battle of the feet” which Ross blows right past. Ross says that Lightfoot is a “talented young Native American” who has been around a few years and is determined to make his mark here in the PWF. Pedicino adds that he has it on good authority that Lightfoot has been signed to compete in the PWF Title Tournament on Thanksgiving night and reminds everyone that tickets are available now! Ross says that after this match, they will officially announce the first six participants in the tournament, as Ross finishes that statement, Lightfoot pins Thunderfoot after “tomahawk chop” to the head off the top rope. Pedicino calls it, “an impressive win”. A graphic comes on the screen for the “Thanksgiving Homecoming” coming to the Tampa Fairgrounds on Thanksgiving night. Already signed to compete in the sixteen man one night tournament to crown a PWF Heavyweight Champion will be: Dory Funk Jr, Johnny Ace, “High Chief” Sivi Afi, “California Stud” Rod Price w/Dark Journey, Kendall Windham, and The Great Kabuki w/Sir Oliver Humperdink. More names to be announced next week here on television COMMERCIAL BREAK As we return from the break, Joe Pedicino is joined by Dark Journey along with John Tatum, Jack Victory, and Rod Price. DJ tells Joe to take a look at the “unstoppable force” she has created here in the PWF. Pedicino says that Tatum and Victory will be competing tonight in St. Petersburg for the PWF tag team titles and that it was just announced that Rod Price will be competing in the tournament for the Heavyweight title on Thanksgiving. Price interrupts Joe to say, “Correction, I won’t be COMPETING for the title, I will be WINNING the title! Mark that down, fatty!” Tatum joins in, “That’s right Panama Joe, tonight Jack and I will take the tag team titles, Rod will take the Heavyweight title and that will make Dark Journey the most powerful woman in wrestling!” Journey says, “If you don’t believe it, just watch this!” Joe adds, “Looks like they are headed to the ring, Jim..back to you.” MATCH TWO- “Hollywood” John Tatum/Jack Victory w/Dark Journey & Rod Price vs. Jeff Williams/Delbert Plezing Ross spends the first couple of minutes putting over Tatum and Victory’s accomplishments in recent years in other territories. Pedicino wonders out loud what has brought these guys and Price together with Dark Journey here in Florida. Ross says he doesn’t know but he’s been told that Price, the self professed “California Stud” is not a fan of Cannonball Grizzly and that Price told him that “Grizzly must be from Florida because we don’t allow fat slobs on the beaches of California” Pedicino responds with, “I guess I better change my vacation plans” which gets a chuckle out of Ross who says he might need to as well. After being in control for most of the match, there is one mishap where Victory goes to give Plezing a backdrop but Plezing catches him with a sunset flip for a count of two, Plezing comes up and hits Victory with a pair of back to back dropkicks, then he goes to hit the ropes but gets tripped by Price, Victory crawls over and tags in Tatum who moments later puts away Plezing after a “super kick” to score the win. Precious makes her way out to the desk, accompanied by a large roughneck looking man that she introduces as her bodyguard, “Mean” Mike Miller. She says Miller is here to ensure that “NO ONE, not even your so called security” puts their hands on her. Ross asks what is her business for being here. Precious replied, not that it was any of his business, but she’s here to let everyone know that she met with Hiro Matsuda this week and she can confirm that, “Gorgeous Jimmy” has been signed to compete in the PWF Heavyweight Championship tournament at Thanksgiving Homecoming and that he will be leaving with the gold! She says she’s also here to scout the PWF Jr Heavyweight title match, as she may be interested in signing a junior heavyweight as well. Pedicino goes to ask Precious another question but Mike Miller leans in and states, “Miss Precious will not be taking anymore questions. Good day.” With that, Precious smirks and turns her nose up as “Mean” Mike Miller escorts her away. Ross shakes his head and says “let’s take a break.” COMMERCIAL BREAK As return from the break, a promo for tonight’s PWF Tag Team Title Tournament airs letting us know what the first round matches will be tonight in St. Petersburg as we crown our first champions: PWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT Round One: The Mercenaries w/Sir Oliver Humperdink vs. Mike Graham/”High Chief” Sivi Afi Johnny/Davey Rich vs. The New Breed (Chris Champion/Sean Royal) Dixie Lightnin’ (Scott Armstrong/Tim Horner) vs. John Tatum/Jack Victory w/Dark Journey The Southern Rockers (Steve Doll/Rex King) vs. The Rock & Roll RPMs (Mike Davis/Tommy Lane) MATCH THREE- “Son of the Beach” Cannonball Grizzly vs. Thunderfoot #2 Grizzly makes his way down to the ring with a surfboard on tucked under his arm to his “Wipeout” theme song from the Fat Boys and the crowd seems to be having fun with it. Ross mentions that Grizzly is “one of the most popular wrestlers on the PWF roster”. Early in the match Cannonball gives Thunderfoot a shoulder tackle and when TF rolls over on his stomach to try and get up, Grizzly stands on his back and hits a pose like he’s surfing to a big pop from the crowd. This match doesn’t go long as eventually Grizzly shoots TF into the ropes and hits a belly to belly suplex he calls the “wipeout” and then goes up to the top rope, signals to the crowd and after yelling, “CANNONBALL”, he comes off with a senton splash for the 1-2-3! After the match, Grizzly is in the ring celebrating to his music while standing on the surfboard in the ring mimicking surfing when from out of where, ‘the California Stud’ Rod Price hits the ring and attacks him from behind. Price puts the boots to Grizzly while Dark Journey sets up two chairs in the ring across from each other. Price then lays the surf board across the two chairs, he then picks up Grizzly and proceeds to suplex him on the surfboard breaking it in half as the crowd boos heavily. Price looks into the camera and says, “Now, that’s what I call a WIPEOUT!” Dark Journey and Rod Price leave the ring as several people enter the ring to check on Cannonball. Ross pitches to another break. COMMERCIAL BREAK As we return from the break, Jim Ross lets us know that Cannonball Grizzly is being attended to in the back by “medical attendants” and he will try to have an update on Grizzly’s situation before the end of the program but right now we’re going to the ring for our four corners match to crown a PWF Junior Heavyweight Champion. MATCH FOUR- FOUR CORNERS MATCH PWF JR. HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE Mike Graham vs. Denny Brown vs. Mando Guerrero vs. Scott Armstrong As the match begins with Graham and Brown in the ring, Pedicino explains that the winner will be the first man to score a pinfall therefore guys will be looking to tag in at every opportunity. Ross adds that Denny Brown is the only one involved in this match that the referee better keep an eye on as far as breaking the rules goes. The match is a very fun fast paced match that sees guys reaching in and tagging themselves in by slapping the shoulder of one of the competitor’s shoulders when they get too close, Ross acknowledges that this wouldn’t normally be allowed in a standard tag team match but considering the circumstances referee Mickey Jay is letting it go. Brown manages to use some underhanded tactics behind the referee’s back on Scott Armstrong to gain control of the match (hitting Armstrong in the throat with a foreign object he pulled out of his tights) Mando and Graham try to point it out to the referee but he’s too busy trying to keep them out of the ring to check Brown. After being in control for a few minutes after cheating, Brown motions to the crowd that he’s about to put Armstrong away, but Mando Guerrero manages to slap him on the shoulder and tag himself in….Brown argues with the referee as he puts him out of the ring….Mando goes over and helps Armstrong up off the mat seemingly to help him over to tag out to Graham but instead he quickly gives him a school boy roll up but to the shock of both announcers, Guerrero grabs a handful of Armstrong’s tights and scores the 1-2-3 to become the champion! The ref hands Mando the belt as he looks to the camera and holds his index finger up to his mouth in a “shh, don’t tell anybody motion” as Graham is losing his mind as he was the only one in the ring who saw what Mando did. Ross says that he’s surprised that Mando would take the low road like this. Pedicino points out that this isn’t first time we’ve seen a Guerrero “bend the rules” to win a championship. Meanwhile, Graham is trying to get in Mando’s face while the referee holds him back with Mando playing innocent saying, “What did I do? Why are you so mad?” (then smiling at the camera when the ref isn’t looking before leaving ringside to a mix of boos and cheers from the fans) COMMERCIAL BREAK When we return from the break, Joe Pedicino is with the new PWF Junior Heavyweight Champion Mando Guerrero who is all smiles. Pedinco: “Frankly, Mando I’m a bit shocked by your actions.” Mando: “What actions? Because I didn’t hold his hand and help him tag out? This is wrestling…this was a four corners match….I was competing with Scott Armstrong just like the others.” Pedicino: “I’m referring to you pulling his tights.” Mando: “I’m afraid you’re mistaken, I didn’t pull anyone’s tights. I saw an opportunity and I took it.” (Mike Graham storms over) Graham: “Mando, I’ve known your family to be a lot of things…but not a bunch of lousy liars and cheaters! I want the first shot at that title and I want it soon!” Mando: “First of all, Mikey…don’t bring my family into this unless you want me to do the same. Second of all, I’m no cheater….Am I an opportunist…yes! Am I a cheater…no! As far as you getting the first shot…and getting it soon? Who have you beat in the PWF? I’ll have to study the list of contenders and then see how you measure up, Mikey.” Graham: “You call me Mikey again and I’ll knock your teeth out. What do you mean who have I beat in the PWF? We just started this thing? I haven’t had time to beat anybody yet!” Mando: “Exactly, then you see where I’m coming from, right? Let’s give it a few weeks and see how that win/loss record is looking after the first of the year………Mikey.” (Graham lunges at Mando and nearly takes out Joe Pedicino in the process as security swarms to break things up, Mando strolls away all smiles as Graham is livid!) MATCH FIVE- MAIN EVENT Kendall Windham vs. The Great Kabuki w/Sir Oliver Humperdink As Kabuki is standing in the ring twirling his nunchuks, Kendall Windham comes rushing out with a patch over one eye from last week’s mist attack and goes right after Kabuki! Ross says, “Kendall Windham is coming in hot for this one, fans!” Windham managed to catch Kabuki off guard knocking him down in the corner causing him to drop the nunchuks and Windham starts putting the boots to Kabuki, stomping him repeatedly, Humperdink leaves ringside for a moment and returns with all three of the Mercenaries who the hit the ring and attack Windham, just as they are getting the best of Kendall, Johnny & Davey Rich rush in to help even the odds! A big brawl ensues as Jim Ross informs us we’re out of time and that they’ll see us next week for more PWF ACTION from the Sunshine State! spaldoni
Lightfoot is quickly looking to make a name for himself here. The battle of the feet comment cracked me up. DJ has put together quite a stable. It's great seeing these guys back in our game. I don't think to many people will mess with Precious with Miller watching her back. Both tournaments are loaded with talent. Can't wait to see who walks out with the gold. LOL, the Son of the Beach gimmick is great. This gives Grizzly a new resurgence in our world. Things quickly turn sour with Price wiping him out. A heated feud has started. Fun match with the Jr. title on the line. Mando was great here. I'm going to enjoy his run as the sneaky heel. However, Mikey is looking to end the run soon. Nice set up. PWF has another hot feud going with Humperdink's men, Kendall and the Rich's. Florida is catching fire! spaldoni
The first round match ups show how competitive the tag team division already is in PWF. Fan favorites, the Rich's advance to the finals as the heels Tatum and Victory get lucky with a bye. Cannonball gets his revenge but gets triple teamed. Luckily the Richs saved the day, setting up a heated finale for the straps. "The Opportunist" what a great moniker for Mando. Rich's win the titles and send the fans home happy. The Rich's have always been a fun part of our world, so it's cool seeing them holding gold.
Autistic Dragon
Really enjoyed the booking for the tag title tournament. Classic angle with the heel finalists getting a bye to the finals. Cannonball gets the win but DJ's boys make him pay for it. Mando shows why they call him "the opportunist". Going to Florida has done wonders for Johnny and Davey's careers.
