Blehschmidt Posted 21 hours ago Report Posted 21 hours ago Okada/Takeshita was pretty good. The Takeshita babyface run is going to be huge. Holy Shit!!! Fletcher/Moxley had no business being that great. Fletcher is damn lucky he didn't break his fucking neck on that suplex, and kudos to them for turning Moxley back into a babyface in the course of one match. Now, it's absolutely time for the Death Riders to turn on him. Yikes. That FTR/Bang Bang Gang match was ugly all around.
Blehschmidt Posted 20 hours ago Author Report Posted 20 hours ago Womens Tag Title match was fine. The downfall of Mercedes is a fun story. I enjoyed Kidd/Darby more than I expected. It was less ridiculous than I expected, but still felt dangerous. The "Mixed Nuts" 8 person tag was fantastic! Well put together fun and the crowd ate it up. Ha! Didn't have Mercedes dropping an F-Bomb on my bingo card.
sek69 Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago Man, wasn't expecting this show to be planned out around Mox doing the Stone Cold babyface turn except he actually ended up winning. I know a lot of folks here weren't big on his title run, but he has been on a phenomenal run.
MikeCampbell Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago It was a good show, but not a great one. The two C2 semi finals seemed to wear out the crowd, which was a surprise since Chicago is usually such a hot market for AEW. I was really taken aback by the lack of angles or storytelling coming out of the show. There was Okada's method of beating Takeshita and Moxley's promo after the C2. But nothing as far any real return or debut. I guess they'll start laying some groundwork Wednesday night.
sek69 Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago Well besides cheating to beat Takeshita, they also are planting the seeds for an Okada feud with Kyle since he screwed with his semifinal match by stealing his gimmick.
Blehschmidt Posted 10 hours ago Author Report Posted 10 hours ago and Pac being absent for the big Moxley "we love professional wrestling" speech would say to me he won't be part of the babyface Death Riders.... or he is hurt again.
Stiva Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago For my own personal tastes, coming out of this show with edgelord MJF as World Champ would have been my last choice of the 4 guys in that match but whatever, I guess it’s building to MJF/Ospreay at Wembley and there’s fresh babyfaces for him to work with so I’ll see how it goes

I saw a post saying that he was supposed to be part of the whole mixed nuts deal. I can imagine him asking to be let out of it so that he can fly home and spend the holidays with his family. It's not like he was going to make or break that match.
Jmare007 Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago As a Mox hater, I'm ok with him in this role. I just don't ever want him with the world title and most prominent angle in the promotion so he can do whatever else he wants in my book. Besides, his work from All In to this date has been legit impressive and it's cool how the crowd has completely bought into his character journey the past 6-7 months.

I thought I remembered him being part of that match when it was first announced.
