Whether it was because of his perceived disability (deaf and non-verbal) I'm not sure, but he wouldn't take shit from anyone, which often led to some tremendously heated bouts.

Might sneak onto my list. Such an under-appreciated guy. The King Ben match is almost proto-UWF and one of the best matches of the era. His deafness isn't overplayed but adds a neat wrinkle to his matches.

The man made his debut in 80s? You're telling me he was less than 2 years in wrestling when the King Ben and Terry Rudge matches happened? Guy looked and worked like a seasoned veteran badass if I've ever seen one.

He made his in-ring debut in 1967, but didn't debut on television until 1980, which may or may not have been what i was referring to.
