Loss Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Vote for the wrestler that you think had the better career in WWE (whether you base that on impact or match quality is your decision), from 1985 to 2005. Voting will end tomorrow morning. Please give the wrestler's name first and any explanation thereafter. Thanks.
Loss Posted May 6, 2005 Author Report Posted May 6, 2005 Sgt Slaughter Val is probably the more talented in the time frame, but Slaughter has that great Gulf War heel run to his credit, and he made it to the top and headlined a WM against Hogan.
Marty Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Sgt. Slaughter I hated the Iraq angle, but it got Slaughter incredible heel heat. Slaughter's run there, and Venis' career as a whole are apples and oranges.
goodhelmet Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Sgt. Slaughter- Val is incredibly bland. Slaughter uses the word "maggots". No contest.
Guest Hunter's Torn Quad Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 The crowd walked out before the match began Sarge, I guess.
Guest Some Guy Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Slaughter. He had the run with the belt and was Commish for about a year. He was a good foil for DX in their infancy.
Guest Bruiser Chong Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 Sarge, but man did I have high hopes for Val in 1998. Him not beating D'Lo in the opener at Summerslam '98 should've been a sign he wasn't going to amount to much, but I was totally backing him his first year in the Fed.
Guest KingPK Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 Sarge. Remember when he turned face after the Iraqi thing and hugged the flag? "Finally, I've got my country back." *Sniff* And then all those kids mobbed him? *Sob* I'll need a moment here.
