I had a rather extensive post celebrating my selection of David Von Erich already written out ready to hit send on, just waiting on dedhemingway to make the 1 pick before me. And he chose David.
Seriously though AWA with Hogan, The Road Warriors and a good Sunshine angle is the hottest promotion in the country and the one with the best shot of "going national" if that is even going to be a thing.
I realize that she can not wrestle on any cards but there is still way more to do with Sunshine than probably anyone that's been on the board over the last 2 rounds.
And I completely passed her over on the list multiple time until I didn't like anything else as much as trying to figure out how to do stuff with an awesome valet.
Also a former NWA champ. It's a bounty of riches.
Oh well now I don't know. That one would probably take precedent but then I don't know how to slot the other 2.
Sunshine drew more money in 1983-1984 than anyone drafted this round. Probably last round but I'm not interested in going back to look at all those names. Got more Sunshine storylines than I do for anyone else.
I have really only scratched the surface so I have only a vague knowledge of Pierre. I have pretty much just seen Garvins/Rougeaus (fucking awesome) some Road Warriors matches (I like them better in Montreal than anywhere else) and that King Tonga was a big time bad ass in that territory.
I think you discounted the fact that Montreal was drafting Montreal guys. His value set was different. You probably still had bigger plans for Lefebvre.
But then you could have NEVER convinced me Bob Sweetan would go in the 5th to anyone that wasn't booking Southwest.
Oddly enough Boon and I were talking about him and we both had a plan for him and it was the exact same one. I look forward to seeing how he does it differently than I would have.
I am not even going to follow my list anymore and try to keep track of taking names off it. There is only 1 real piece out there that I'd like to have and I already accepted I may not get him last night when I took Sunshine.
I picked the one that was worth the most money but I told you last night no one was gonna give a shit.
Plus I do not know if anyone else besides you and me knew that he was on the list as El Santo Negro.
This is what I was advised. I threw the name out and was kind of told "god no don't do that"
Left to my own devices I would have made him Assassin #2 a good many picks ago most likely.
The draft thread is serious business. Please don't fool around in it Matt D. You risk losing some of your votes for NWA president were you to do such a thing.
