Current as of Buck Robley to AWA

I would like to propose an idea where people can send in a "PWI style" headline about one of their feuds or another based off someone else's show.

With Southwest Championship Wrestling recognizing the AWA as it's sanctioning body this also means we release the rights to use Lou Thesz as our commissioner. We will now simply refer to Stanley Blackburn when we need to reference who will or has been called. However, we promise to be progressive and not talk about writing or receiving letters from Stanley Blackburn. He would obviously use a telegram. -
If Joe Blanchard were an NWA member he would absolutely vote Matt D.
-
Matt D should be the President which means taking everyone's PMs to coordinate the champion's dates, handling territory disputes and reading every single NWA member's TV report to make sure that they aren't disrespecting the NWA's name.

Well Flying Brian's ICW and my Southwest were the only "outlaws" that didn't belong to the NWA (besides AWA being it's own thing) The plan was to stay solitary but circumstances dictated change. -

I am so glad the AWA ended up with Sheik Adnan. Not sure who else I could have worked a similar deal with. I honestly like my revamped idea of "video Adnan" more than I like having him full time. Joe Blanchard is thrilled with me at the idea of having a manager that he doesn't have to pay. -
Joe Blanchard and Southwest Championship Wrestling are pleased to announce that they have come to a monumental agreement with the American Wrestling Association! This agreement will see Southwest Championship Wrestling recognize the AWA as it's official sanctioning body! The upcoming winner of the AWA title tournament will be referred to by Southwest Championship Wrestling as the undisputed World Champion! As part of this agreement the AWA will receive upcoming dates on Tully Blanchard and Southwest will receive future dates on Sheik Adnan Kaissey and an agreement that Adnan will film promos for Southwest during AWA TV tapings and have them sent to San Antonio to air on Southwest Championship Wrestling's flagship television program 'Southwest Championship Wrestling' whenever one is requested. Southwest Championship Wrestling will also now refer to it's championships as the AWA Southwest Heavyweight Title and the AWA Southwest Tag Team Titles.

I think shortening the time limit to 5 hours is the best way to make it work. It's not perfect but no way to push through the rest of the draft is going to be perfect and this is the way to upset the least amount of people. If someone feels burned by missing the time limit and losing a guy they wanted then they are going to be more likely to use someone as a proxy. We are halfway. There aren't enough wrestlers for a round 30. -

I can only go so far in a having a realistic Southwest roster that I could have fun with. Other than Bob Sweetan & Tully it was mostly a stay for a little while but not too long territory. -

I can talk about Mike Jackson now so you may be the new person who shall not be named around here. Oh and just a random thought, sometimes I may offer to send talent to a big show for pretty much nothing in return simply because that was something promoters would do to keep their top stars happy. They could make more money being 3rd or 4th from the top at a Superdome show than they could being in the main event in Waco, TX. If Boon and I ever merge would we be SouthwestEastern Championship Wrestling? -

I suspect you could give your pick to JerryvonKramer and be fine. I don't think you guys are looking for the same people. EDIT: Or Boon too. Another guy I doubt is sharing the same list. -

He still seems a good fit for a small Texas promotion. But yea it really was the perfect situation. -

I will say that the more I try and plan how best to use Duggan after like the initial 3 months, I admire how Bill Watts was able to keep him at the top of the cards and drawing money for nearly 3 years. I love Duggan but he's not the easiest babyface to book around. -

I don't think ANY of the people who claim to be part of the Anderson family are related. At least not by blood. -

I have to admit that most guys who never traveled south of Canada are out of my wheelhouse and are just guys who I know from rep or recommendations. -

I will admit that part of my interest in Boon's Southeastern is seeing a British guy take what is more or less a real 1983 roster of one of the most, if not the most, Southern territory available and how he re-imagines it. I hope Boon doesn't take that the wrong way I mean it the best way possible. I am truly looking forward to seeing what he does. -
Joe Blanchard & Southwest Championship Wrestling are pleased to hear of this prosperous arrangement and having already done a number of these equal time agreements, would like to state that it is continuously open to offers & discussions regarding similar type deals from any interested parties. Mike Jackson could also be had for TV tapings if proximity is close (Southeastern, Florida, Georgia, WCCW...I think beyond that might stretch the limits of reality) I tape on Mondays and as long as there is no conflict there, something could be worked out. I am not going to ask you for something ridiculous like Dusty Rhodes in return, someone of a slightly higher value or equal value is all I'm thinking. The quick thinking staffs over at Southeastern & Mid-South Wrestling have already gobbled up this Mike Jackson offer and as Southeastern tapes on Saturday mornings, Southwest on Mondays & Mid-South every other Wednesday, that would make any other arrangements unrealistic. Mike Jackson will work Saturday morning TV tapings going forward for Southeastern & every other Wednesday evening in Shreveport for Mid-South tv tapings on what is essentially a "help me out later if I need it" deal.

I like Matt's take although I'm Southwest not Southeastern. I for one look forward to seeing what Boon has in mind for Southeastern more than anything else. I haven't even tried to get any of his ideas about what he wants to do from him despite the fact we have worked more closely on trades than anyone. I also think that RocketCrypt has hit a home run with Florida. I still have some work to shore up my midcard but RocketCrypt has like his top 3-5 matches on the card already. -
Lowest average roster age. They would be the most forward looking NWA promoters and the best to handle matters going into the future.

Oh, I don't know if anyone else thought a whole lot about promos in their drafting, but I did. I wanted to have guys that I thought I could hit their notes and have some lines for them that would feel natural. Tully Blanchard and Assassin #1 are two all time heel promos and guys who have a very clear style & cadence that I think I can give them some short lines from a "summarized promo" that would feel like something Tully or The Assassin would say to "wrap up" an interview. The Fabs & Duggan on the babyface side are no slouches and I can work with Stan & Steve lines too. I will need to watch some more Dugaan promos from Mid-South to get a better feel for him though. Then I have Mike Davis & Eddie Gilbert who wouldn't be realistic as great talkers yet in July, 1983 but by July, 1984? I think they were ready then to be handed the mic and deliver. -
Should we ask for freelancer dates here or via PM? Because I would like to get Mil Masacaras for July, 31st if he's not in Japan. Oh, and if anyone is thinking alllll the way out to July 1984, ask me for your dates in here. There is no negotiations with me, it's first come, first serve.

Yea it's not up to date. I have a lot of names I'm not emotionally ready to copy yet.
